From the fresh figs we picked to the glorious view, The Brow was a treat!The garden is huge and we loved our garden olympics evening making use of all the space. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is lots of space to socialise or chill out inside.

We had a great holiday in this lovely house - highlights included the great views, exploring the grounds including the amazing orchard, cooking in the well equipped kitchen, walks down to the river and further afield, eating all together on the terrace, hanging out in smaller groups in the three sitting rooms (including the games room), and lots of fun indoors and out. Strongly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at The Brow- it was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our whole family - perfect for an enjoyable getaway. The surrounding area is beautiful, and we especially liked the access to the public walkway that lead down to the stream and river - really great for exploring with the little ones. Rafela was fantastic at communicating and made sure we had thoughtful extras like teabags, 40th balloons and helpful guidance about the local area! A couple of things to note: the decor is a bit dated, and the main living space next to the games room could use better lighting. We also had a minor incident when one of the chairs gave away while our 2 year old was sitting on it- she was thankfully ok but worth checking the furniture for safety. Overall we had a great time, oodles of space to spread out for a nice retreat in Wales

Perfect. Simply perfect.

Our extended family of 14 were entranced by this wonderful house and its extensive grounds. The young children loved exploring in the orchard, picking a few cherries, bouncing on the safe (!) trampoline. And the games room with kicker football, lego, and puzzles and games! The bedrooms were extremely comfortable with AMAZING views. The ensuite bathrooms were a delight. We all loved the stylish kitchen. Fridge & freezer large enough for our needs. For meals, we used not only the lovely regency dining room, but more often the terrace, with endless views, regaled with birdsong. The drawing room has a Bechstein grand piano which we loved. The sitting room was perfect for chatting & reading in its comfy chairs & sofa. The entire house is filled with books - in every room, in every passage! WHAT could be nicer? And so much to see and do in the surrounding area! This was possibly our most thoroughly happy holiday!

Wonderful house.

The house had plenty of space for our family to be together. We loved the croquet and other outdoor games. The house was clean and kitchen well kitted out. The only thing was the bbq was broken which was a shame. Fab outside space. Very interesting property with all its history.

Beautiful country house

We had a lovely time in this beautiful house - there was plenty of living space for the whole group to spread out and we loved having a big group dinner in the grand dining room. The house is old and some niggles are to be expected (minor cobwebs, loose doorknobs, a couple of chipped mugs) and they definitely didn't take away from our love for the place (and shouldn't deter anyone else!).

Great space for a girls group

We had a lovely time. Location is great for walking with some nice pubs to eat close by. House has everything you could need. Views are gorgeous from bedrooms and the terrace. Great stay for a friends 50th birthday. Thank you.

Lovely rural escape

Perfect location for a quick jaunt from Manchester. The village was nice with a few shops for essentials & short drive to supermarkets for a bigger shop. Home from home

A beautiful 'lived-in' and quirky old house that made us all feel at home. Wonderful gardens and views. Great to share meals (prepared in the lovely spacious kitchen) around the long dining room table - made us feel like nobility. So many rooms - that we often 'lost' the kids. Weather was great so we were able to walk down to the river and go swimming. So close to the village and playground - but secluded and set back from the road.

Fabulous stay with stunning views

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful home. The host was extremely helpful and gave us access to the local tennis courts which were really fun. The actual house itself is even better than the photos in set in amazing grounds with beautiful views. We also loved walking down to the river.

Weekend away with friends and kids

Wonderful stay at this amazing property. Full of history and quirkiness and lots of wonder and recreation for our kids (4 to 10). We were blessed with weather and made the most of games on the huge garden area, bbq on the sun trap patio, and walk through the woodland to swim in the river. Host was fabulous and made the admin side a breeze. Would definitely return in the future.

Lovely property

Very nice house, but definitely quirky! It has a lot of personality in a beautiful setting. We had a wonderful weekend, though didn't find the outdoor games in the large chest by the door until the final day. Downsides - lots of cobwebs, a bit cluttered and the lights kept tripping in a couple of rooms.

Brilliant house and location

Property worked really well for family and friends get together, with ages ranging from 20 months to 70 years, we all loved it. Everything we needed including great outdoor space. Also plenty of places nearby to visit suitable for all ages. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Meals we ordered from them were excellent. We had a very good meal at The Boat at Erbistock and good food from Overton fish and chip shop.
