Spacious, quiet home within great proximity to Virginia Tech

We rented this house for a family gathering and graduation celebration at Virginia Tech. The house comfortably accommodated our entire group of 8 adults + 1 teenager. This house is spacious, clean, well appointed and very easy to find - just a couple of miles off of US-77. As we had many graduation related events at Virginia Tech, the house was conveniently located within a reasonable drive to Blacksburg and Christiansburg. The property owners were extremely helpful, accessible and easy to deal with. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this property to anyone needing cost effective lodging in southwest Virginia or in close proximity to Virginia Tech.

Perfect!!!

Jill and Jack are perfect hosts and have a spotless home on their farm a short distance off RT77. They couldn’t have been nicer. Even the bed was the most comfortable we have slept in!!! Thank you. We plan to return!

great service very relaxing g area to get away and have privacy

jack and Jill were terrific in making the arrival easy and jack even showed us around the farm. kids loved the snow. greta recommendations locally as well. we had a couple minor problems but the response was fantastic. One note while there is a queen bed in basement it is quite cool in the winter. probably great in summer but if you have a winter stay and want to sleep 8. be prepared to snuggle under blankets for that area.

Wonderful owner. Woodlawn is beautiful. We enjoyed walking the pastures and seeing the wildlife. Can't wait to take whole family. Very relaxing. Again,Jill, the homeowner is wonderful.

Wonderful get-away!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this cozy home. Jill went over and beyond to make our stay memorable. The extras (apple butter, bread and pumpkin roll) as well as simply having the lights on for us when we arrived were such a treat.

GREAT FARM

We really enjoyed staying at the farmhouse. It was very clean and neat! Jill is a wonderful host and gave us some great ideas for things to do and places to eat. The location was easy for on and off the expressway but private.

Relaxation near the mountains

Cozy home is a beautiful farm community in the mountains. Beautiful country stay, walks in the fresh air and nice views. Close to many lovely towns and activities. Relaxation and rejuvenation.

Great Find!

Sometimes things happen for a reason and we found this place for a reason. This house is well maintained and very quiet if you are looking to get away from the daily noise. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and the treats they left behind were fantastic! Our only disappointment was the weather because we definitely wanted to pick raspberries and visit with the donkey! Downtown Galax and Downtown Hillsville were very quaint and nice to visit. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Excellent Getaway to the mountains!

I randomly came across with this place while searching for a vacation home with couple hours driving range from RTP area. Have to say this place exceeded our expectations. The house was super clean and equipped with all necessary things you would need for a house. The location is great and morning views are so beautiful. Will visit again for fall since the place is minutes from BlueRidge parkway and surrounded by mountains. Very quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed our time chatting in the patio! Would highly recommend for a family getaway!

Perfect for our family!

What a nice little treasure, nestled just off the highway in between Hillsville and Galax! We were first time guests from South Carolina. Myself, my husband and our two children, 9 and 16, found this location perfect for us. Unfortunately, this visit was due to a death in the family, but for future visits this location is perfect for us, as my family lives in Hillsville and my husband's family is in Galax. The home was very clean and inviting. There was no a lot of clutter (decor) which was perfect for us, as we have a son with special needs and too much clutter is overwhelming for him. I LOVED the stocked coffee bar, as I found there are not many places around to get coffee on Sunday mornings ;) The owners, Jill and Jack were absolutely the sweetest! Upon arriving they realized that the brand new washer was not working and it being a weekend, hard to get anyone to come and repair it, so they invited my 16 year old daughter to their farm next door to wash her clothes. They also left us fresh sourdough bread and apple butter that was produced on their farm. We will definitely be back for future visits!

Serenity in Woodlawn

We needed a place in the area for our adult family to gather and stay for a memorial service. Jill’s property was warm, clean, comfortable and serene, near the end of a road by a farm. Beds were comfortable, towels were plush, and the kitchen was well equipped. Appliances were new. Jill also went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in the home. Would definitely recommend this property.
