"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. "Property appears to have been recently made over, everything is new and fresh, extremely clean and although on the small side the rooms are perfect for overnight stays, comfortable bed and with more than enough tea/coffee supplies unlike a lot of places. The continental breakfast was excellent quality and plentiful. We could not fault the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall excellent value for money and we will definitely go back"

"The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs."

"We got to this property by chance. What a fun surprise. It is an old but very well kept inn. It has many beautiful hikes around. It is in the middle of nowhere. And that makes it even more fantastic. "

"Lovely place to stay and in a very good location. It has a lovely aesthetic and there was drinks and cake for guests waiting. I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask.
