Adrienne, we're happy you enjoyed staying at our home and you are welcome again anytime. Bugs are indeed present at times in the mountains and those gnats are present for about 2 weeks in October. They are annoying but don't bite. We recommend leaving the outside lights off and keeping the door closed as much as possible.

Thank you very much for letting us know about this problem, we are very sorry this negatively affected your vacation. We were shocked to hear this since we are a 100% non-smoking home and we are extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke ourselves. After your review, we found out that our housekeeper had been taking the linens off site to clean. This had never even occurred to us because the home has a brand new high-efficiency washer and dryer. We now have a new and different housekeeping service from a non-smoking household, and we have thoroughly cleaned all the linen, bedding, and towels ourselves. We have really put a lot of love into making this a fantastic place to entertain friends and family, and take great pride in sharing our home with visitors so this was really devastating news for us. We are grateful that we learned of the problem and have fixed things so that it will not occur again. Hopefully you will reconsider and stay with us again sometime!

We're definitely lucky the home stays naturally cool when the weather gets hot, especially with the windows closed during the day. We have long-term hopes to build a deck in the future to have more space for relaxing outside. It is definitely a nice setting. Come visit us again sometime!
