This cabin is absolutely lovely upon arrival it was really clean and has lots of nice touches which really makes it feel homely. Yes its at the top of a pretty steep hill but its also away from the hustle and bustle of the park and clubhouse, which means its very quiet, and tranquil, the decking is lovely with lots of space to watch the birds and enjoy the outdoors while sitting with your family eating, drinking and enjoying the afternoon and evening sun. The two main bedrooms are pretty spacious for a cabin both have plenty of storage space, the third room is very tight but the bunks are a decent size with the advantage of the top bunk that can be folded away for a feeling of more space . All the mattresses were really comfortable and all the bedding and pillows were hotel quality which made a real diference to our stay. There were also firm medium and light pillows available which was a really nice touch. The ensuite to the master is quite cramped but perfectly functional and a great plus. The main bathroom is lovely and spacious with a really nice spa-jet bath thats nice to soak in after a long hike or a long paddleboarding session. The kitchens great as is the dining area and the lounge which is all openplan with views out to the decking and the birdfeeders. Julie was was really communicative and very helpful and easy deal with, thank you for making our stay a pleasure.

Mooie plek, hygiëne iets minder

Huisje ligt op een mooie plek op een vakantiepark met verder voornamelijk stacaravans. Er zijn voorzieningen op het park (zwembad bijv tegen betaling). Vanaf het park is er ook een directe toegang tot het meer (Windermere). Het huisje is voor een gezin met 3 kinderen (1, 5, 7 jr) of meer dan 2 volwassenen echter wel vrij krap. Wij vonden het huisje niet zo schoon: het keukengerei was soms nog vies/vet, we vonden onder tafel vies ondergoed en sokken (?!). Ook waren er te weinig schone handdoeken.

Easter in the Lakes

We spent 4 nights with family and had a great time. Great location for exploring Windermere and doing some walking. Easy check in process and cabin as described. It had everything we needed and was nice and warm.

A fabulous place

A warm, welcoming, comfortable, well equipped and tasteful lodge a short walk to the lake in a quiet location with deer grazing in the woods, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had great communication from Julie from the booking process to leaving for home, many thanks

Great stay

Good base from which to explore the lakes. The accommodation was compact but perfectly fine for a few days. There is a problem with damp I believe and this impacted our clothes and the smell. Due to my daughter being asthmatic, we wouldn’t return for this reason.

Few days in the lakes

Lovely stay with my mum in Scafell lodge. Loved the peace and quiet, and watching the birds. The site is lovely, as is the lodge. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Mid Week Break

A nice quiet property which is tucked away towards the edge of the site. Plenty to do in the local area and places to visit. Would be lovely in the summer and would stay here again. Thank you for a great stay.

Great location

The location is beautiful and very peaceful. There were some issues with the boiler and jacuzzi bath which were not ideal, but the owner Julie was prompt to help and rectify these issues so it didn’t spoil our stay. Lodge was clean and tidy and it was nice that it was detached. We would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful site on park. Good for wildlife Friendly staff at reception. Cooperative manager of home when we had boiler problems. It provided everything we could want for an enjoyable stay

Couldn’t fault this cosy cabin or the host

Just what we were looking for. Clean, cosy and warm. Comfy beds and powerful shower. Some lovely touches made our arrival very welcoming. Peaceful and quiet as the cabin is on the edge of the park flanked by trees. We loved watching the birds on the bird feeder. The park facilities were very good too. Our host Julie was very responsive and really accommodating. We hope to return again. Thank you very much

Lovely cozy cabin by Lake Windermere

Warm, cozy yet spacious cabin in a beautiful quiet setting within White Cross Bay holiday park. Lovely to see and hear the birds singing each morning on the feeder outside the patio doors. Booking was easy and Julie gave clear instructions for check in and check out. All linen and towels provided, it really feels like a home from home. Would definitely stay here again.
