- A modern apartment in the heart of Bownesss with views over the lake and fells. Activities and attractions all within walking distance.. All on the First Floor:

In the heart of the bustling village of Bowness-on-Windermere, this fully refurbished, contemporary holiday apartment has been recently renovated with views of the lake and hills from the living room window, provides an ideal base to explore southern Lakeland. Just a short walk to the landing stage for ferry trips to Lakeside where there is the fascinating Aquarium of the Lakes and delightful Haverthwaite to Lakeside Steam Railway. Activities in the area include water sports, climbing, fell walking and cycling. Historic houses and gardens, museums and other cultural centres are within a short drive, whilst the beaches of the western lakes can be reached within an hour. There is a launderette 1/2 mile away. Shop and pub 10 yards.
Add-ons are available for garage space to store bikes, kayaks, canoes, and four mountain bikes and a paddle board are also available to hire, agreeable at an extra charge direct with the owner.

Great location
Located in the centre of town, easy access to the lake, shops and pubs. Facilities good and flat comfortable. Had a good 3 days.

No wifi for flat other than BT pay as you go.
No wifi for flat other than BT pay as you go. However , if you are already a BT customer you can use the wifi with your username and password details.
Plenty of shops & restaurants around and plenty of parking spaces behind apartment.

Fantastic location, very well priced for early-mid August in Bowness and will happily try to book again if we decide to return to the Lakes next year. Good car park though i would suggest getting there via Quarry Brow Road off the A592 as following directions given is quite a tight squeeze for larger cars such as mine; many of the parking spaces are allocated to a particular apartment, none for Strawberries and Cream, but the car park was large enough to accomodate everyone.
Lovely views out of the bedrooms into Bowness, great view out the back to the lake. Beds and living area was a relaxing place to be with a decent sized kitchen. Good selection of DVDs and games but we bought our own so didnt end up using them.
Would suggest maybe an extra towell or two as for a family of 4 with two pre teens and hot weather, we almost ran out. Also, only 1 toilet roll and no dishwasher tabs provided. Only other issue is that cleaning could be improved, but solved this with a decent hoover when we first arrived. No broadband at time of visit, but this wasnt a massive issue either.
Owners/contacts very responsive to phone calls/text queries. Great people to deal with. Very happy overall.

Fab location.
Fab location. Lots of amenities close by. Tricky to find from description but once in all ok.
Welcome book could be a bit more detailed but all in all Lovely bolthole for visit to lakes.

The only negatives are - no wifi and the extractor fan hood above the oven was glass and a bit too low, so had to be careful not to bang your head.

Strawberries and Cream - flat above shops was small and a little tired. (Tourist information book was dated 2016) Bathroom blind was very dirty and did not work. Sofa has seen better days.
