  • Great lake front home in Fanning Bend Development. Home has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, open kitchen, living room on main level, den located downstairs, large screened in porch, use of covered boat slip at assigned community dock. Sleeps 8-10. Big water views abound from this home. The main floor has a master bedroom and bath with a king bed. The upstairs has two bedrooms with private baths. One of those has two queen beds. The other one has one queen bed. The basement has a queen size air mattress.Close to Tims Ford Lake Marina and Tims Ford State Park and Bear Trace Golf Course. Enjoy the good life at Fanning Bend!

Basic but Good

The house is big and covers three floors. Ceiling are high so there are a good many steps to use the entire house. There are no lamps so all of the overhead lights need to be on and a couple of end tables to sit your coffee/wine on would be nice. Everything was clean and in working order (could stand an upgrade on bath towels and some soap would be nice.) I think the only real caution would be the screen porch and kids. It is high off the ground with just a knee-wall and screen and so kids out there would need VERY close supervision. We will rent again when we visit our family who lives in that development.

Peaceful view- nice house!

We enjoyed our time at this house We had a few issues crop up while there but the property manager, along with the owner, responded quickly and fairly. Since the house can accommodate 10 people, we would suggest some additional seating for the family room and bedroom areas so more than 4 people can sit in the family room area to visit, etc., and there is a chair or two in each bedroom(the rooms are huge so there is plenty of room)for reading, putting on shoes, etc. We didn't use the boat slip, but if we return we would seriously consider taking advantage of that option.

Fanning Bend

Great house. Walk down to pier is VERY steep. We have stayed here a few times and do enjoy the lake and all it has to offer. A golf cart included in the stay would make it more enjoyable!

Beautiful neighborhood

Big great room, great screened porch with table/chairs & new recliner chairs. Unexpected long steep downhill walk to dock, not at house. Told "use a golf cart if you brought one". Kitchen well equipped, No TVs in bedrooms. No hair dryers. No Keurig. Big room in basement with sectional sofa and TV only. Kind of wasted. Overall kind of Wow when we walked in and then OK. Construction next door started at 7:30.

Great rental

Great home and very clean!

We enjoyed our stay so much! We spent a bunch of time on the lake and at our local family’s home, but it was such a pleasure to arrive back each evening to a comfortable home to shower and relax! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Wonderful stay. Lots of great memories.

We had a wonderful stay. Things were clean, tons of space, location was great, screened porch is awesome, and boat slip was so helpful. We were a bit surprised though to not have any bath soaps or a hairdryer, and dinnerware was pretty limited. I would rent again, but would take a few more things along!

Great Location

The property is located right on Tim’s Ford and a short drive from a couple of restaurants and the recreation area (swings, slides, trails, etc). Also, a short distance from both Winchester downtown and Lynchburg downtown. The only area for improvement was that the property appeared to be in a little bit of disrepair (flooring looks as if something happened like a flood maybe?; the walls appeared to have had recent holes in them which weren’t appropriately fixed rather painted over). Further there was no decoration or non-overhead lighting. Last comment about the property is that the cable box and wires were just hanging off of the tv with no attempt to hide or run them anywhere. Generally I’d call the interior appearance sloppy. That said, the place is nice, the owner was very responsive, checkin was super easy, and we enjoyed the deer which always seemed to be present.

Great view! Comfortable the entire weekend! Neighborhood is so friendly! Golf cart would be nice to get to dock, but understand the liability issues it could cause.

Weekend stay

We rented this house on the same weekend as extended family rented another property a couple miles away so as to properly socially distance. The house was very nice and the screen porch overlooking the lake was the best part! The place is very spacious. We used the dock at the other house, so we didn’t have a chance to use the one assigned to this property. I would definitely rent this house again.

Perfect for multiple couples

The house was fantastic! Perfect location and beautiful views. Only "bad" thing was not having a big pot to cook gumbo, but we were able to borrow one from the neighbors, so they got to enjoy gumbo too. We hope to be able to come back!

Nice Place

The house provided a perfect get away for our group of 8.. The dock is a good hike from the house.. You will need to be in fairly good shape to walk it.. Would stay again.

Great property!

We had an amazing weekend! The house is beautiful and very well taken care of. There was plenty of room for all my family to sleep and plenty of “hang out” space. The views were gorgeous! John was great and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the rental!

Very spacious clean house

There was plenty of room for our group of 10 adults. We brought our own blow up mattress since there were only 4 beds. Would be nice if the basement had a sleeper sofa. Loved that each room had its own bathroom. We brought a golf cart as others said it was a necessity and they were correct. Getting to the boat dock is a very steep walk. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend this home.

Great house, great dock beautiful community.

Our family loved our 4th of July visit staying in this beautiful home. The boat dock and boat slip were great ammenities, the only negative was no lake access at the home and you need a golf cart to get to dock as the slope is big. The screened in porch for lake viewing was wonderful and great place for coffee. The home is a 5 star the lake access is a 4 star. The host was quick to respond and very helpful.

Great spot. Bad plumbing

The location was perfect for visiting family nearby. We had two major issues that were very challenging: we had no hot water the whole time we were there and the basement flooded. The owner was very reponsive in terms of sending someone out to “fix” the issue while we visited family. However upon our return later that night we still had no hot water and the basement was flooded due to a faulty pipe. Fortunately we were able to shut off the water valve but the basement was not able to be put to use. Again John was very responsive the next morning but having the issue was very stressful. For our purposes the location and access to the lake was perfect but without hot water and faulty plumbing it was not worth the money we spent on a two night stay.
