"We were looking for a base for a few days away and this fitted the bill well. A couple of previous reviews had commented upon general cleanliness and we found a child’s toy under the dining table when we got there and an odd sock behind the sofa, suggesting the cleaning wasn’t particularly thorough. Otherwise the property had all we needed. "

"The property and garden are perfect if you have a dog. If you don’t , its clean and not at all doggy! We’ve visited several times and love it. Good proximity to an unspoiled beach and Rye nature reserve."

"Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it.
For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view.
Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare.
What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out."

"Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives.
The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. There was mould above the shower and dirt and mould under the sink. The areas around the toilets were soiled with rusted old urine splashes. There was mould on one of the bedroom walls.The kitchen cupboard fascias were peeling and the handles all...
