Our favorite vacation spot!

This is the second time my family has stayed here, and it continues to be wonderful. Spacious enough for all of us, all the amenities we could ask for, and it truly feels like a cozy home away from home!

Such a beautiful home and property! Fit our family perfectly! The porch is amazing, the kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable. The doors do stick a lot but I feel like that is due to the humidity. We would stay again when in the area. Location is amazing and close to multiple beaches!

Wilmington charm

My friends and I had an amazing time at the cabin. While it seems so rustic, it as all the modern comfort of home. The location can't be beat. It was easy to get anywhere you need within 10-20 minutes. We love how quiet it is and absolutely love the outdoor porches. Definitely a place we would like to stay again.

Family Vacation

We had a great time on our vacation at The Arrogantly Shabby Cottage!It is a beautiful and spacious place for your family. We had plenty of room for all 5 of us! The wrap around porch was my favorite place to be! The owners were wonderful about getting in touch with and answering any questions we had!I would definitely go back, given the option!

We loved everything about Shabby. From the wrap around porch and the fire pit. The location was perfect, easy to get to many beaches and still easy to get intown.

Angie’s place was the perfect retreat. Super quiet area. Spent pretty much my entire trip outside in the yard. Her place ended up being exactly what I needed.

Essential Wilmington getaway

The perfect place to getaway for the weekend… Close to the beach and the sound, hiking trails, delicious food… A quiet, relaxing retreat with wraparound porches and plenty of places to perch with a good book. Charming cottage with a comfortable, homey feel. Great communication with the hosts. Highly recommend!

Celebration of Franklin

Property is great!! Wonderful backyard and porches!! Peaceful and quiet and very convenient to Trails End Park (access to Masonboro Island). Angie was very responsive to all questions. Outdoor shower was a wonderful addition!!

A great place for a family vacation

The place was as advertised. It had plenty of room for our family to spread out and enjoy the property. Even though we did not utilize the outdoor area, it is spacious and great for cooking out or relaxing outside. The service and follow up from the owner was better than imagined. I would stay in the house again on any trips to Wilminton.

Loved our stay at this home

We gathered here with our family for 8 nights. The location was great! The home had a 'old timey feel' with the porches which we all spent a lot of time on as it was late spring and we had good weather for it. The house is not fancy but it is charming. Perfect for gathering as we did. The beds were comfy. Everything worked as it should have.

Loved this artistic, vintage house!

Our family of 8 stayed here for a full week and loved the coziness of this house. The wrap-around porch was a great spot to read, talk, and play music. We were very impressed with the preservation of this very cool, old house. The modern updates of AC, nice appliances, and smart tv were really nice too. The beach was a 15-20 min drive but it didn’t feel long. The outside shower was a huge help too (especially for a big, sandy group). Loved it. Plan to return!

Wilmington Oasis

This property exceeded my expectations for location and surroundings (I have been at UNCW since 2016, but commuting from Hatteras, NC). But the house blew us all away! It is a perfect place to gather and be with people you love to spend time with. The wrap around porch was one of a kind and the house was spacious for our group of eight, feeling like we stepped back in time with the incredible decor. The clawfoot tub reminded us all of our childhood home! The recent restorations add a nice touch of convenience to the old, low style home. The surrounding area is quiet and perfect habitat for wildlife! We observed a number of bird species just in the three days we were here - definitely an oasis in an area that is being quickly developed without paying mind to the creatures next door. Hosts were super and helpful, very easy to communicate with. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away and relax in a gorgeous space and a comfortable house! Had a great visit to Arrogantly Shabby!We visited with our adult children and two granddaughters. We were looking for rustic charm and we found it! Enjoyed the lights in the trees and fire pit in the evenings and proximity to the beaches during the day. A very comfortable and quiet place to stay with welcoming hosts! We will be back!

The house was amazing. It was like stepping back into time. Our family loved the wrap around porch and rocking chairs.The house is private but within 20 minutes of everything. We will be back when the weather is cool and we can use the fire pit and oyster roasting station!
