I hesitate to leave such a negative review but feel that if I had read something similar to what I’m about to write, it would’ve affected my decision on renting this unit. This unit has a cockroach problem. The owner said that he has never had this problem before; however, I looked back at the reviews to see if I had missed any mention of this. Sure enough, it looks like the September 7th review of this unit also mentioned pests inside. I can confirm this, and there were also bugs on the balcony although it’s right on the lake, so I think that that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected were the cockroaches in the kitchen, on the countertops, and also we found one on the day we were leaving in my sons’ bed. Upon arriving, we indeed saw several cockroaches so we knew we had to keep the unit clean and made sure to do that. To no avail though. We saw at least 10 cockroaches. The one in my sons’ bed the day we were leaving just tipped it over the edge. While the unit itself is decorated nicely with many amenities, it could use a good deep cleaning. Additionally, the entire property is pretty run down and dirty. We only took the elevator once because it smelled so bad. The stairs might have been even worse though. They were so dirty and had trash on every landing. The view was amazing though. It’s definitely got that going for it.
