If I could give negative stars, I would. At first, the host was very friendly, and even left some toys for my kids. But as soon as we checked in, I was hit by a wave of heat. The thermostat read 85. In a massive heatwave where temps were 100 for over a week. It was stifling—no windows opened, no fans circulating air. I messaged the host again and they said there was no AC downstairs. Even though the listing clearly states there is AC with no exceptions listed. Turned out there were window AC units were in the bedrooms and even with the units on, the rooms only cooled to 80 degrees. I asked the host if there was any solution—I was with my 2 year old, one year old, and am pregnant. They said to take fans from upstairs to circulate the air. 2 hours later, the temp was still 85. I texted them politely hoping to resolve it. Then, my text notifications to the host were silenced. I tried to call 4 times and was sent to voicemail. We were all dripping sweat in a hotbox with no real alternative. Hours later, after I contacted Vrbo and they also tried to reach the host who did not answer, I got a message back saying they would try to fix it. We left. Awful awful experience, false advertising, this was truly disappointing to have happen especially with Vrbo. Now, we’re being denied a refund since the host has to approve it. Save yourself the trouble and don’t pay a cent to these people.
