BEST Location, Unique Property, Memories of a Lifetime

Wow, this place was cool. After seeing the pictures, we had to check it out. The location was most notable - right next to Chair 3 & Hope Slope run, with terrain park just beyond that. We were able to watch the boys do jumps from inside the house! The tower was a really cool unique feature. Great place to watch skiers & snowboarders go by, relax with a book, etc. The only hiccup was we had a little bit of difficulty checking in - I couldn't find the check-in email in my inbox. I am really not sure if it was my fault or theirs. Property manager didn't respond and I had to contact the owner. But we got it all straightened out within a couple hours. Another nice thing - sometimes we stay in VRBOs that don't have any salt & pepper, cooking spray, etc. This place had the basic things so we didn't have to buy them, which was nice.We would love to stay there again!

Perfect Summer or Winter Slopeside location!

Ponderosa treehouse at Snow Bear Chalets was the perfect place for our family. My husband and I enjoyed privacy sleeping on the main level and the kids LOVED the loft with a king, 2 twins, and the most amazing turret ever! This turret has something like 1000 fiber-optic stars forming twinkle-lit constellations on the ceiling- amazing! Our kids loved it! The kitchen was perfect and fully stocked for the two nights we cooked at "home". The mountain views were breathtaking, the hiking was fantastic, the beds were oh so comfy and the overall ambiance of the treehouse created such a great memory for our family. We're already looking at dates to return. Thank you Snow Bear Chalets for building such an amazing luxury treehouse! My recommendation- book this now! You'll be so happy that you did!

We loved our summer stay at Ponderosa. Our 7 and 4 year old were delighted to stay in a treehouse and to have a turret to enjoy just to themselves. The amenities were spot on and everything was very comfortable. Whitefish is a fun little town and Glacier National Park is gorgeous!

Very unique amazing experience! Real tree house, but with all the conveniences of a home. Right in the slopes. Property manager is very responsive and accommodating; they even had a Christmas tree and stockings there for us for the holidays! Very clean! Strongly recommend!

Luxury in the trees

We had a wonderful time in ponderosa! It was even more beautiful than in the pictures online. The view was spectacular and skiing right from the treehouse was so easy. The beds were so comfortable and the place was stocked with everything needed. This was the best rental we have ever stayed in! We definately want to come back. The skiing conditions were amazing!!

Well appointed architectural gem

This is probably the most well appointed vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The owners thought of absolutely everything you could possibly want. The kitchen is well stocked with high quality cookware, utensils and serving pieces. You don't need to bring anything but your personal items. Trash bags, toiletries, zip lock bags, laundry detergent, etc. etc. etc. are all provided. To top that off, the place is truly beautiful. The design is unique and the house is extremely well built. The location was excellent. It would be nice to have a little more separation from the neighbors (especially from the master bedroom) but there were shades to provide adequate privacy so it wasn't really a problem. We would definitely stay here again. Whitefish in summer is absolutely fantastic and Ponderosa was a perfect place to stay!

Fantastic Cabin

The place is great and the company that manages the property was first class. You will have periodic disturbances at night when the groomers come by the slope. Generally, this was when we were sleeping. The lights come through the cabin and beep loudly when they go in reverse.

Family MEA October Getaway

I really can't say enough wonderful things! I would use the word magical. We found October to be a precious time to come. While most things on the mountain top are closed, we were the only one around at night and it was extremely quiet. The weather was perfect for hikes (which you can easily do from the property) as well as horse back riding and bike riding. The quick drive to downtown Whitefish was lovely and had many options for food and drinks! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property.

Luxury and convenience

February 16th - 21st Our family of four (son 10 and daughter 12) recently stayed at the Ponderosa and we couldn't be any more pleased. Gail was very supportive in answering our voluminous number of questions; but the property was the real star. The appointments and attention to detail are far superior to any other ski vacation we've taken. And let's not forget the ski-in and ski-out; we were literally footsteps from the slopes!

Beautiful home and the ski in ski out is literally steps away! Views are majestic and Gail and Teresa went ABOVE and beyond with recommendations, pre-planning tips and suggestions! Truly a magical experience; a winter wonderland

We came to Montana for an Old Fashioned Christmas - the snow, the cabin, holiday decorations, snuggling by the fire, the charming small town feel - and what we got was our very own Hallmark Christmas scene. It was purely magical and, at times, felt like we were inside our own snow globe! The chalet is extraordinary; we woke up from our cozy, heated beds to watch skiers cut down the mountain in elegant lines while we ate breakfast. The fireplace and Christmas tree were a beautiful touch that made the place feel like home. We would start and end our days in the hot tub on the porch while waving to people on the chair lift going up the Big Mountain. During the day, we'd pop into town and grab a bite in Downtown Whitefish or do an activity - Glacier is magnificent in winter or you can sign up for a sleigh ride or dog sled experience. We went down ther mountain to base camp to see the torch light parade where community skiers lit Santa's way down the mountain. Just spectacular! Otherwise, with this chalet, you never really have to leave. The full kitchen, laundry facilities, star gazing tower, spectacular views, Netflix and Wifi and built-in sound system offer an option where you don't have to leave the house to make wonderful, magical memories with your loved ones for the holidays in Whitefish, Mt. Thank you for all the memories! What a place! We will be back - and thanks to Teresa, the property manager who was so helpful and on call any time we had a question.

Loved the Ponderosa!

A very relaxing getaway!

We really enjoyed ourselves at the Ponderosa. Gail was great and always there to answer questions and offer suggestions on activities. The accommodations and view from the patio were really wonderful. We really enjoyed the hot tub and was a relaxing activity after our long hikes. Glacier was very accessible from the property as well as a short drive to Whitefish. We would certainly stay here again.

Treehouse combines luxury with magic!

I cannot write enough good things about this truly spectacular property! Our family of five spent three days here while visiting Whitefish and Glacier National Park and we truly did not want to leave. Our three boys are huge treehouse fans and our stay here exceeded even their crazy big imaginations. Gail was wonderful about communicating with us prior to our visit and offered so many options of activities in the area. She met us at the treehouse to be sure we knew everything the treehouse had to offer. She even made our boys feel SO welcome with a gift for each of them. The treehouse was just spacious enough for the five of us with thoughtful touches around every corner. The turret is pure magic and our boys went straight there every time we returned to the treehouse. They kept journals documenting our 3 week vacation with daily entries and it was the perfect spot for them to relax and write about their adventures of the day. This property would be a dream at any time of year. We’ll definitely return if we’re in the area!
