This attractive two-bedroomed end terrace house is situated in an elevated position overlooking the railway station, perfect for catching a glimpse of the steam trains and enjoying the glorious views over the marina and towards Whitby Abbey. From here, it is less than 0.5 miles to the harbour and the centre of the town, making it an excellent base from which to explore Whitby and surrounding places of interest.
Hang up your coats and put away your shoes in the hallway. The kitchen has all the white goods needed to cater for a family or a group of friends and there is a small breakfast bar with stools where you can enjoy a coffee from the Tassimo machine. The lounge area has two comfortable sofas and a TV with a DVD player. There’s also a stone fireplace with an electric fire, and glorious views across the marina towards Whitby Abbey. The diner has a dining table and chairs, and French doors leading to a small conservatory with seating, overlooking the patio to the rear. Move up the stairs and find the first bedroom which, like the lounge, has enviable views over the marina. This is a king-size room which can be made up as a king or two singles with a TV. The second bedroom is a double and boasts two chairs and a TV. Both rooms share the use of a bathroom that has both a corner bath and a shower. There’s a small garden and seating area at the front of the house from which you can catch a glimpse of the sea. There’s also a patio with outdoor furniture at the back of the house.
The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, and its Gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby Harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting the first choice of their catch of the day.
