We were in Whistler for two nights for a quick family get away. This was our first time staying at the Cascade Lodge. Our family turns in early and gets up early, so this location was great for us as it was away from the late night party noise of the main Village Stroll, but close enough to get there in the afternoon and evening for shopping and meals.
The room was super spacious with a dining table for meals and full kitchen. The pool was excellent - even when busy it was big enough to find space for swimming with the kids (or a lounge for an afternoon snooze). We chose to get take out for dinners and eat in the room. There were so many excellent choices in the close-by Main Street area. The room was fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, glasses, etc.
A few notes for future stays:
1. The fridge was ultra-cold and ended up freezing some of the food we brought. We turned the temp down a few times, but still ended up with slushy drinks and frozen fruit and yogurt.
2. The unit faces south-east, so we got the beautiful sunrise over Blackcomb mountain. The bedroom did not have great blinds to block out the light, so if you plan on sleeping in, bring a sleep mask.
Other than those very minor items, our stay was excellent and we will definitely look at the Cascade Lodge again.
