The motel was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Old motel upgraded and comfortable. Nowhere to hang clothes, should this be important. Pleased had electric blanket. Suggestion - check "dodgy" connections at wall and temperature control. Stove had switch not working. Not an issue for me. Good Wifi Would stay again.

It was perfect for what we needed, close to the Whangarei hospital. Great sized rooms and very clean for the age of this property. Amenities were all there in the room. We were in the roadside room and it was a little bit noisy but then we do live out in the country! Would definitely stay again. Thank you 🙂

Disappointed with pool not being open and was dirty in middle of summer. Many sky channels advertised as being available were not. Shower pressure was minimal. Room itself was tidy and sufficient

Very clean but i did see a baby cockroach running around in the bathroom. Not that i minded as it probably came in through the window id imagine.

If you have business at Whangarei Hospital, the location of this property is perfect, just a 5 min drive down the road. However, the property is very dated, cleanish but in dire need of some TLC. Some of the amenities did not work...eg a wall heater in lounge. The stove in the kitchen needed a really good scrub as did some surfaces.The water pressure is very poor and the temperature of the hot water is minimal. Its shame really because the location is so great.

Not again
Older building. Room is spacious but the furniture is quite worn. Some noise from the road next to the building and also from the emergency service helicopters which probably fly to the nearby Whangarei Hospital. Because I was still sitting in the car outside my room after check out, I could see through the open door that my bed had been made again, but the sheets had not been changed. However, I don't want to exclude the possibility of a mistake regarding the length of my stay, despite the very manageable number of rooms...

Josh was friendly and on to it. We were arriving at 1am in the morning, so he sorted us out. Great location, easy to find and a great basic space for a night's sleep.

Lovely hosts, made you feel very welcome and were very obliging in terms of changing our room so we had cooking facilities. Room was clean and comfortable. Happy to recommend. Close to Hospital and City.

For us, the stay was about being conveniently located to a family function and also other family living close by. We purposefully chose Villa del rio for the pool but unfortunately we didnt get any free time to use it. It looked great. Our host was friendly, informative and that helps when travelling a long way from home.

Person behind the counter was nice enough but was dirty and rough. rooms were dated and had scent bombs to try to make it smell better. The scent was worse than any smell. You get what you pay for and this was cheap.Will not stay again.

The room was nice and warm when we went in and the bed was comfortable thank you for the electric blanket it was a cold night out. Though I did feel the person who checked us in was quite gruff in appearance and manner did not make us feel very welcome more an imbuggerance. But will recommend to all and will stay again.

Jenan we contacted our internet people who have now put a booster unit into that part of the motel and now the signal strength and speed is very good.

Thanks for the comments. We are working on some additional ways to block some of the road noise. Truckies continue to use engine brakes even though they are not permitted to be used in the city boundaries. But we are working with Council and NZTA on this

The motel was immacualtely clean and had everything we needed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool and grounds around the pool were lovely.
