"This place was a slice of kiwi heaven! The location is beautiful, perfect place to recover from life’s struggles. It’s isolated so you pretty much have the beach to yourselves.Also, having the spa is great for when the beach is a bit too chilly or after a cold dip.The owners are super friendly and accomodating as well, felt well taken care of. "James welcomed sincerely and warmly. There was such a serenity to the property. Lawns were mowed, edges clipped, everything kept neat and very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. And the location was superb. The views were unbelievable. Such beauty in every direction. It was a restorative, restful and uplifting stay. "

"Although the motel dates probably from the mid 1980’s, it is clean, and comfortable, with a kitchen comprising of an electric stove top, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. All were in excellent condition, and the property is well maintained. Whilst we did not use the pool, it looked clean and inviting. "We had a great time, real kiwi bach unbeatable location with all the things you need to make your stay easy. Kids jumped off the bridge, kayaked in the estuary, walked for miles on the beach. "Absolutely fantastic weekend away. Perfect for those wanting to disconnect and get away from the daily grind. The wrap-around deck is the best feature, enabling you to follow the sun around the house all day long. The views are absolutely stunning. Direct access to the beach is great, but we were a bit surprised that it's advertised as a dog-friendly bach, but there's a sign right outside the property that says 'no dogs allowed on the beach', which we wish was advertised on the listing. "The property easily accommodated 12 of us. It is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for a big group. Despite the rain every day the spa was greatly appreciated by all. Ngunguru is a great place to holiday with easy access to many walks and beaches. Two of the boys learned to surf at Matapouri. "The home is well appointed, roomy, has everything you need. Good seating/couches, 2 sets of dining tables. Nice view looking Eastwards. Pet friendly. Good parking. 5 Adults stayed, we used both levels. The internal stairs are a bit challenging/different but we navigated them without issue. The decor is a bit outdated but suited us fine, its a solid, warm home. Nice big kitchen too, with a full size pantry & fridge. We'd stay again. "
