A lovely escape to paradise

This unique home is unlike any other. Both the property and Henry, were just fantastic. Henry was so easy to communicate with, and he made things very easy to navigate for our first time visit to the Brac. We learned so much about what to expect before we arrived. His associate Leo was also very helpful, and very nice. The house was phenomenal. The layout was unique, and open. My favorite part was the French doors overlooking the ocean in the primary bedroom. The ocean and surf would be the first thing I would see as I opened my eyes every morning, and it was glorious! I also loved the screened in porch, right on our own private sandy beach area, where we ate our breakfast every morning. Our own beach area, which included a cove, gave us hours of exploration and snorkeling. We enjoyed the home so much, I know we will be back. It was an inviting place to stay, with so many cool, decorative details added by Henry. I truly felt we were somewhere very special. The home lacked nothing, and the grounds (and private pool!) were beautiful. Henry is a very generous home renter. We look forward to our next visit.

A breathtaking corner of Cayman Brac

Five of us enjoyed a beautiful, relaxing stay at Henry's gorgeous home on the South West corner of the island. A spacious house with lots of room for 5 adults, a kitchen with everything that you need to enjoy an easy start to the day or a scrumptious meal at night. The highlights of the property include the pool, many loungers facing the ocean, shaded gazebo and screened in porch. We spent most of our time outdoors, in the porch or enjoying the breeze and sunshine under the sun shades. The snorkeling was easily accessible within a feet of the property. Walking distance to the Alexandria hotel bar, liquor store and the best home cooking on the island, Coral Isle Restaurant. Highly recommend this property and being hosted by Henry. We also appreciated his help in arranging an earlier arrival when our previous plans were changed.

Great location, beautiful grounds

This house is in a great location just a few minutes from grocery, restaurants and the dive shops. The outdoor space is fantastic with a warm pool and beautiful ocean views, and the screened porch is nice for enjoying warm evenings without bugs. The inside is dark and has lots of knickknacks, so it’s not a good place for young children.

Fantastic private home - great location

We very much enjoyed our stay at Blackbeard's landing. There were storms while we were there so we didn't get to try some of the amazing features the property had to offer like kayaks and the pool, but we loved the property and the outside areas to sit by the water - absolutely beautiful location to relax and the home was comfortable and exactly as described. We met a huge blue iguana that lived outside the house that was very cool! Convenient location for the dive shop and restaurant and market options too. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone planning a vacation in Cayman Brac!

Very nice!

Blackbeard’s Landing is in a convenient location, close to a grocery store, liquor store, a dive resort and nice restaurant. But the property is very quiet and private. There is extensive outdoor landscaping with a lovely outdoor living room and nice pool deck. The pool is covered to hold in the day’s heat and was very enjoyable! There is an entrance to the ocean but we didn’t use it, nor did we use the provided kayaks. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need should you decide to stay in to cook your meals. Blackbeard’s Landing is a very unique property with African and SE Asia decor, the furniture is comfortable, and the house was very clean. A highlight was mornings spent on the huge screen porch watching the world come alive. The view can’t be beat! We would recommend Blackbeard’s Landing.

Cayman Brac dive trip

Blackbeard's Landing was a great house for our dive trip. It was as good as it appeared on-line. And the location was great - very close to the Brac Scuba Shack dive shop. Henry and Sasha were great hosts. We will stay here if/when we return to Cayman Brac.

Heaven on a beach

Our own alcove in a protected reef. full of the owner’s interest in art and beach activities. The three week holiday passed at just the right tempo. Diving, hiking, bird watching, biking, rock climbing, massage and yoga were almost all in walking distance to maximum enjoyment. Henry and Sasha were kind and generous.

Location, location!

This was our second time renting one of Henry’s properties, but the first time renting Blackbeard’s Landing. We were three couples who have traveled together in the past, and this was a perfect house for us. The inside is spacious, the kitchen was well stocked with dish ware, glassware, cookware and utensils, and the screened lanai with a large table was wonderful for our evening meals. But the shining star is the outdoor amenities. There is a private yard, plenty of seating in both sun and shade, a heated pool, gas grill, paddle boards and a waterfront view that can’t be beat! The calm water inside the reef allowed water activities even on the windy days. It is also an easy walk to the Captain’s Table Restaurant (highly recommend) , a dive shop and 4D car rental. Henry is very quick to respond to any questions, arranged for Sasha to pick us up at the airport, and gave us some great suggestions for things to do. On a side note, make sure to find your way to the Pioneer Bakery for their fresh coconut rolls! We had a great vacation! Unfortunately, we had to cut our two week trip short because of the Corona virus and our Jet Blue flight cancellation. We would like to thank Sasha for helping us reschedule our flight home on Cayman Air. All went smoothly! We’ll be back again!

Magical place

This property is better than described and looks just like the pictures. It is peaceful and relaxing without ever lacking things to do. The set up is outstanding- paddle boards, kayak, snorkel equipment you can rent for a great price and the property has corn hole, a great pool and several hammocks for afternoon naps. Henry was easy to reach, answered all my questions and very helpful and patient. Highly recommend!

Mostly great!

We spent a week at Blackbeard’s Landing and enjoyed our stay. Some of the touches that made it stand out from the other properties we’ve rented: -Very responsive owner - one night there was a plumbing issue and it was repaired by the next morning. -Henry rented a car for us and it was waiting at the airport with the caretaker. Great prices and no hassle at all. At the end of the week we simply had to park at the airport and leave the car there. -Plenty of towels & beach towels -Outside area was gorgeous. We greatly appreciated the shade over the pool, the hammock under the trees, the floating dock, the upper deck area, and especially the screened porch. -The drying rack on the screened porch was a thoughtful amenity and very useful! -There were multiple floor and ceiling fans, all of which were needed. -The paddle boards were a great perk -The kitchen had everything we needed, & it was nice to have some things in the pantry already. Reasons we rated it a 4 rather than a 5: -We have rented countless homes from VRBO over the years, and we have always felt like the house was ours for the week. This time, however, felt like we were guests in someone else’s house. It’s a subtle but important difference...i.e. opening the dryer to find someone else’s clothing in it...rules regarding at what temperature to keep the A/C, which was too hot for our comfort (upon arrival, it was 84 in the house)...explicit instructions to keep the doors and windows closed at all times, though the website describes opening them up to the cool breezes. Also, 3-4 times during our stay, people would walk through the property & take the paddle boards out for a bit. This wasn’t a big deal, but there were a couple of times when we had planned to take them out but couldn’t, and it also meant that people were in our “space”. If you’re staying at a resort this isn’t an issue at all, but we rent private homes because we like to feel like we are the only people on the island. For the most part, we did, and these few nights were just a minor annoyance. -Pool was HOT. Not just summertime-in-the-Caribbean-lukewarm...but 95 degrees according to the thermometer in the pool. Couldn’t cool off in it. Tips for potential renters: -Not suitable for small children. Far too many knick knacks to knock over and break. -The master shower has windows extending down to waist level facing the road and the sea. Ladies, be prepared for some exhibitionism if you shower at night.

Amazing property with outstanding views!

We absolutely enjoyed our recent stay at Blackbeard’s Landing. I would say this property is in the best location on the island. Everything was perfect from the minute we landed from being greeted by Sasha to the time we left. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you need for your stay. The best part though is the amazing grounds that have a private resort feel to the most beautiful views.

Perhaps the BEST rental house on the Brac

Henry's house was in a word AMAZING. The view was great, the location was great, the amenities in the home were great, the pool/grounds were well kept and maintained. Being within walking distance of the best restaurant on the Brac (Captain's Table) made the location even that much better. Henry was a VERY gracious host and went out of my way to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. Sasha (his property manager) was available if I needed anything and was a very big help the first few days until I got my bearings. Would I go back? Yes...and I wouldn't even look at another place. Thanks Henry for making my trip special.

Beautiful, private, relaxing

Wonderful week away from it all. If you want a private vacation with an extraordinary view of the Ocean, this is your place. All of the amenities on a secluded sleepy island.
