Walked in about 1030 or 11 PM. Booked room for two adults and one 8 year old child, literally 30 minutes in advance. Said kids was free. Nope they charged. It was late so I could deal with that.
Walked into hotel lobby and it was extremely hot. No AC, construction underway, but there’s no mention of that on their website. HUGE MISTAKE, shame on you Quality Inn, Choice Hotels.
I got our key, walked down the stinky hallway. Our door wasn’t even closed and locked. I just pushed it open. I walked to the window and thought OK, I’ll open the window. The window led to a hallway. No fresh air would be in that room.
Within less than two minutes, I walked back to the front desk gave him the key back and said we are leaving. I will say the desk clerk was kind and understanding. he said since you booked third-party you need to go through them but I don’t see a problem in getting a refund. I just got off the phone with Hotels.com. And I got my refund. Thank you Hotels.com.
Suggestion for Choice Hotels: when one of your hotels is under construction and the AC, or maybe the heat is out of service state that plainly on your homepage.
