Quiet neighborhood. Nice setting. Short walk to river. Did not like a few things such as urine smell on the carpet, master bedroom toilet flapper leaking, master bed room door not lock not catching to lock, and broken deck chairs. Overall a good vacation.

Outstanding home away from home
We enjoyed everything about Stone’s throw! The short hike to the water, basketball, corn hole and the evenings were spectacular out on the back deck! The hammock was a big hit too:)

Ski weekend
Stones Throw is a very comfortable well located property. Very quite and peaceful, close proximity to skiing. We especially enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing. Kitchen had almost everything you would need. Seasonings for cooking were a bit sparse. No salt and barely any pepper. Time to restock! Bed in the downstairs bedroom was too hard for me! Family upstairs said theirs was fine. While we were planning on bringing our dogs along, plans changed and we did not bring them. Asked for a refund on the pet fee, so far no response. Overall, we had a lovely time! Would stay here again.

A very nice property in a good location, nestled in the woods with close proximity to Mt Hood. Only disappointment was that the hot tub needed chlorine and shock oxidizer which were not available and were not delivered after calling VRBO.

Welches in the river
We have stayed at this location before, because it is beautiful property, surrounded by tall, magnificent tree, and a short walk down to the Sandy River. The home is a bit dated, but spacious, and fulfilled all our needs, except for a big problem watching streaming services on TV!!! Froze up every night, which was a huge drag when wanting to unwind together after a long day of skiing and hiking

Not my idea of a vacation
Dirty house and a confusing layout with a wonderful back deck Mice and mice dropping all over the house. Called first thing in the morning to have someone come take care of the mice and after someone showed up to set traps. That we had to clean and rest during our visit. Had to clean the rocks and debris and put in a shock before we could use the hot tub. The floor are stained and dirty and it rained during our visit and the window in the dining room leaked so bad that it soaked the items on the table. The hall bathroom door was difficult to close with the washing machine sticking out. Went to use the downstairs shower, had to clean away the nats that were flying around first. I can say the best part of this house was sitting on the back porch. It was so quiet and wonderful listening to the wildlife

Very home like
Our group usually camps 3 or 4 times during the summer. We decided to try out a cabin this year. And we will be making this an annual summer thing. The cabin was great. Very roomy. Short walk to the river was nice. Beds were all comfortable. And the hot tub was very relaxing with the little stream running by it. The manager came out and helped fix the ac right away since it wouldn't go lower then 72 and the temps were in the high 90's while we were there. Housekeeping dropped off dishwasher pods when I asked. Wish there were some Tupperware bowls to store leftovers a little better for the week. All around it was a great week away!

Lady's Special Time
We were 3 ladies celebrating a very special birthday. First thing we did after arriving Friday afternoon at the house and before unpacking was to explore the beautiful surrounding with the little waterfall by the back deck. We went on the trail to the river right away and enjoyed the water's sound. Back to the house we explored every room. Everything was just as described, spacious, quiet and tasteful furnished. The kitchen had everything you would need. Unfortunately we were not able to use the first floor shower since they had put in a new floor. A sign said to not use it until Sunday, so that was not something we had expected. There was the upstairs bathroom with a shower but unfortunately that shower did not work either. So we called maintenance and they were quick to solve the problem. By the time we came come from a few hours trip everything was fixed. So thank you to the maintenance person! The weather was nice so we didn't have to use the fireplace in the living room. We saw plenty of firewood stacked outside just in case and we added more that we had brought with us. We like to sleep in a cool bedroom so for the night we opened all the upstairs windows to cool the rooms. All in all we had a great time, enjoyed each others company and our plan is to come back at another time. We definitively recommend this place!

Interesting but beautiful
The house and location are beautiful and secluded. I especially loved the little stream near the hot tub and fire. The house was unique and definitely like any other, I do wish that there was more explanation to how things worked like the upstairs tub and shower. The manual was pretty vague for explanations, I will say. Getting in contact with the host was incredibly difficult especially when we had power go out and when we lost the code to the house. Overall, the stay was pleasant I would just ask the host to be more attentive to the guests and have more detailed explanations for how things in the house worked.

Great Vacation
Close to Mt Hood and Thriftway groceries. Sleeps 8 comfortably, but we had trouble keeping the temperature above 61 degrees. Fireplace helped but we had to buy firewood. Hot tub is very convenient and helped warm us up.

Stone throw
House was clean upon arriving. Location and views are beautiful! The little creek running behind hot tub was so nice! The river was nice, but stinky like sewage. The hot tub was stinky and was provided 2 small cups of shock. The beds were soooo cozy! The kitchen was well stocked even with some tea and condiments. The spice rack was stocked and very useful. The leather couch in living room was broke and the reclining part wouldn’t go back into itself like it should and made it hard to get up. The stairs are very steep, kids had a blast going down them on their bottoms 😁 there unfortunately was no firewood stocked or even available unless you wanted to buy some. Unfortunately we couldn’t use from outside it was wet. Upstairs bathroom is cute but tub is old and jets are super loud. Outside the decks are huge! Very nice piece of property and private away from neighbors. Shower down stairs is awkward due to home being A frame. Upon checkout house keeping was waiting in car that was kinda rude. All in all it was a good time and nice stay.

Perfect getaway for a few
The property is everything in the listing. It’s a big property and lots of room between the neighbors. All the good reviews are correct. One review mentioned a lack of cookware, this has been updated. We had everything we needed to prepare and cook the food. If you want to bring music, bring a jack to plug into an amp. It’s the only downside to the AV system. Great hot tub perfect Sandy beach at the river. I will return summer and winter!

Family Vacation
Reserved this vacation home for a long weekend with family and grandkids. Size and beds were a good fit. Pretty clean, but could be updated. One sofa recliner was in bad shape and broken down. TV in living rm downstairs did not work properly. Beds were comfy. Kitchen pretty well stocked with plates etc. Need to provide your own seasonings, oil, etc. Large back deck was nice, especially the water feature. Hot tub was clean. The river was not too far to walk to and the kids loved it. Much to do in the area. Make sure to take the hike to Mirror Lake. Trillium Lake was also a lot of fun!

A Perfect Vacation Spot!
My friends and I rented this cabin and stayed for a few nights during an extended road trip and it was the perfect escape from the road we needed. It was also perfect for our first visit to Oregon. Being from Texas we marveled at all the gorgeous tall trees and the mountainous land around us and this cabin allowed us to enjoy that natural beauty throughout our stay. Especially since the creek was such a short walk away!

This place is incredible and we're definitely coming back!
This property surpassed everything I expected. Check in was a breeze, the home was clean and all the little things that this home had to be space efficienct made me realize I needed these things at my home too. The only negative I had was the upstairs shower not working (tub worked great), but this was such a miniscule issue, we still had a great time. We only wished we had more time to take in the beauty of Oregon and relaxing atmosphere of the home.

Well stocked home, great lay out, at the edge of the mountain, close to the trails and government camp. nice heaters and confort inside and outside. the only thing was the outside lighting was kinda dim around the entry door, had to grab the flashlights to seek the front steps

Great place, everything you need. Only thing that would be nice is not to have a 10am leave time. With a 4:00pm arrival time it really shortens your trip. Also the blinds in the master are totally see through when the lights in the room are on at night which was a bit in settiling.

Cozy cabin in the woods
Our group had a great time staying here for our annual girls' weekend. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the hot tub was great on a chilly evening. There was a nice selection of board and card games available as well. The only cons, which were minor, was that the mattresses were more form than most of us preferred, and the staircase was rather narrow with shallow steps (one of our party fell).

West coast family gathering.
We traveled by car from Missouri. Adult children and grandchildren came from Boise and Seattle. We had room for the teens and preteens to be separate. Yet they dining area sat all 11 of us. The guys used the hot tub, the dogs romped on the front deck, and everyone played basketball. We walked to the river. The house was clean, well outfitted, including dog bowls and toys. We did bring our own. We did need more kitchen cloths and towels. I considered this as one of the best values of the many vacation homes I have rented.

Nice little getaway
Well stocked house made for an easy weekend getaway for our family. Would easily accommodate 2 families of 4. Relaxing hot tub in the backyard by a bubbling brook. While not on the water, it’s a short 3 minute walk to a beautiful view of the Sandy River. Neighbors were visible, so not a remote destination, but still private. Showers not made for tall folks but it’s doable! TV not hooked up to cable or Netflix, so bring your converter if that’s something you plan on using/enjoying.

Like a good friend's cottage
This was the perfect location for our family trip. With six adult children who all love the outdoors, this secluded retreat allowed us to get away from the crowds and enjoy space and relaxation. Very well prepared for guests and well supplied for cooking and entertainment. It truly felt like we were staying with close friends and not renting a sterile vacation spot.

Beautiful Retreat!
Overall this was excellent! Extremely clean and had everything you could want at your fingertips. We gave a low rating to communication because I was never able to connect with anyone on the phone, but I am fairly certain that is due to the current COVID-19 situation. It was a bit unnerving though. However, don't let that impact the review of the home itself. It was amazing and we would definitely stay here again!

Girls Trip 2019
Great location with all the amenities of home plus some! We enjoyed the cozy cabin which was just right for our party of 7. Hot tub was a big draw and the beautiful surroundings made it feel like we were remote but the distant neighbors made it feel safe. Too Many Issues
House was not very clean, the kitchen faucet leaked and my daughter found 3 fleas on her. I think the house may have a flea problem. Additionally we found mice droppings by the trash compactor that did not work We were scheduled for 3 nights but only stayed 2 as we felt very uncomfortable. I hope this issues are resolved as it would be a shame if another family had to endure this nightmare

Close to being a good rental
Pretty good place. My family enjoyed the house, very pretty and spacious. Only downsides were the cleanliness (upstairs bathtub wasn't very clean and we saw mice in the kitchen) and the bunk bed was rickety. Even my young nephew didn't feel super safe on it.

Beautiful view
I love the house and the property. But I wish that it would have been cleaner. We spotted 2 mice around the kitchen area, once in the compactor. We put our food away and cleaned residuals. I had to clean the toilet bowl since it smelled of urine. I suggest clorox. I was able to remove some of the stain and eliminated some of the smell. I fell down 8 steps and I was Barefoot. The steps were too narrow and dangerous. Some grab bars are necessary in the upstairs bathroom. Very dangerous. In short if it were cleaner, it would have been perfect.

We have put out traps and will call in pest control if it becomes necessary. We are sorry to see you felt the stairs were a hazard. Family Fun
The house was not exactly what we had expected. The family room upstairs is only accessible if you go through one of the upstairs bedrooms. I may have missed that in the description but that was disappointing, considering we had guests with us and to use the room we had to go through their space. The soaking tub had ants and we could not use it during out stay. 8 people showering in the downstairs half shower. The kids loved the basketball hoop! And the access to the river was nice. The hot tub is basically in poor condition and a lot of the jets did not work. One of our guests got locked in the upstairs bathroom due to an old door knob and we had to remove it to get her out, luckily there was a tool kit in the supply closet. We did get a small credit for the ant problem, which extended to the loft bedroom. I think this house is great for a get away but I hope the owners will consider fixing some of the issues for future guests.

Very nice place. Staff was helpful with questions. Clean and relaxing home. Bath water would not get hot or even warm. Easy walk to the river and hot tub was great and clean. Small mice issue but to be expected in the forest. Enteresting neighborhood, no issues just different.

We had a relaxing, low-key weekend with our adult children. We will definitely come again.
The house was so welcoming! We all (6 adults) so enjoyed being there. The hot tub was great. The yard/forrest was so peaceful and beautiful. The deck is welcoming. We enjoyed both "living areas", upstairs and on the main floor. The kitchen was great to work in. We could have used a few more dish towels but we will bring some with us the next time we come. We do a lot of cooking!! Our daughter's 5-pound Pom came with us and it was so nice to have the place be pet-friendly. Luci loved the woods and trails. Sometimes she was a little too adventurous! It was close to trails for hiking and the Wildwood recreation center was perfect and handicapped accessible. We loved our stay! We will definitely come again.

Disappointed.
I was really looking forward to a nice weekend for my anniversary. I received an email on Friday morning stating that our cabin was ready early if we wanted to check-in early. I am not sure why we received this email as when we arrived at 6pm, we found two beds that had been slept in and a washing machine full of smelly towels. We searched for laundry detergent to rewash the towels and sheets but could not find any. We had to remove the dirty sheets and replace them with other sheets. I emailed Vacasa the evening we arrived and we were not contacted until the next morning with an offer to come "complete the cleaning process". When I got up to make breakfast, I also found that the cookie sheets in the cabinet had to be cleaned prior to using them. We decided to leave the cabin and head back home. I figure if I have to do dishes and wash sheets/towels that I can do that in my own clean home.

We are very sorry for this lackluster experience. We have since discovered and rectified a system error that led to this missed clean, and have refunded the guest their cleaning fee. Beautiful location and home
The only reason this home isn't getting a 5 star review is because the cleaning was still taking place when we arrived and we had to wait an extra hour before we could move our stuff inside. 4pm is already a very late check-in time, so we were not pleased to have to wait even longer than that. Other than that, everything was perfect and in great working order.

We will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay. The place had plenty of space and we were able to bring our furry family members too. The house and property was clean and warm. The hot tub was great. The trail to the river was cool. The option of having an up and down living room was great with kids. The privacy was 10/10. The neighborhood you go through to get to the place was a little sketchy but that is outside the cabin owners' control. Everything was well appointed. If you forget anything there is a store less than 5 minutes away (and most of that is waiting to get across HWY 26). We really enjoyed our time here and will be back.
