Susan and Keith are great hosts. Their property is warm and inviting and perfect for a getaway. This was our second time staying at their property and it was a pleasure to stay there. The property is well maintained and very centrally located to shops, stores and restaurants. We’re planning on staying there again next year if they will have us.

We came to NC for a wedding and to make wonderful memories. The Roost will make the top 5 list of great memories of the week. I can't list everything that was just perfect for our stay, I'd run out of room. The home was our dream for the week and Susan went over the top to be the best hostess we have ever experienced on our over 4 dozen VEBO rentals!We will be back!

Meticulously maintained home with outstanding views. Owners have thought of everything needed to make stay comfortable and enjoyable. Home is spacious and has lots of natural light. Surrounding grounds are well maintained. Nice neighborhood and excellent location. Owners were easy to communicate with as needed. Will be returning next year!

This was the most special cottage and the most welcoming host. We loved everything about our stay here. The view is spectacular! It was such a convenient location as we enjoyed time in beautiful Waynesville and several other surrounding towns. We saw many beautiful mountain views but none any prettier than the one we enjoyed from the swing on the porch at THE ROOST! The host went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect - complete with restaurant recommendations and local events and sites info. I highly recommend this gem for a mountain getaway!

The property is beautiful, comfortable, clean and extremely welcoming. Fabulous mountain view from the porch. The host was fantastic in her communication, making sure we had all of the pertinent information, made sure everything was going well, and gave us recommendations of restaurants, etc. It could not have been a better experience. We had a wonderful time, and we will be back!

Wonderful get away

The property was absolutely beautiful. We loved using the kitchen and cooking in some to enjoy the breathtaking view!! The yard was well maintained and beautiful flowers. We will definitely be renting again. It was home away from home.

The Roost Cannot be Beat!

We love The Roost! We found the Roost just as pictured back in March, 2024, so we decided to return in March, 2025 (trip having been delayed due to Hurricane Helene recovery) with a sister and brother-in-law along to enjoy the Roost, Waynesville and the surrounding area. The Roost never disappoints. Owners Keith and Susan offer all the necessities of home plus more! They are also very knowledgeable of the area and always go the extra mile in researching questions for answers. The mountain views from the front porch rockers, swing and table cannot be beat any time of day! The Roost is a slice of heaven!

A Perfect 10

This was an absolutely fabulous stay! Everything was 10/10! Communication with Susan was great. The house was immaculately clean with so many thoughtful touches plus it was decorated for Christmas in such a fun and lovely way, it added so much magic to our trip! The views from the front porch are also stunning. The house had everything we needed and we felt so comfortable there. Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much Susan and Keith! We hope to visit again!

Thanksgiving in Waynesville

This is our second visit to Waynesville for Thanksgiving, and our first stay at The Roost. We really enjoyed our stay and our hosts were great to work with. The Roost is a very nice cottage and was a great place for us to stay. Everything about it was great and descriptions were very accurate. The Roost was already decorated for Christmas so that definitely helped put us in the holiday spirit. We’re already planning for next year and definitely plan to stay at The Roost again. My wife and I are also looking at possibilities of visiting in late spring or early fall as well. I highly recommend this property and the owners are a delight to work with.

The Roost

The Roost is the most charming cabin and offers the most spectacular views. The front porch is a fabulous place to begin your day overlooking the mountains and town of Waynesville. Our host was an absolute jewel and was very responsive and organized. I can't say enough. We had a wonderful stay.

Cozy, comfortable, convenient, commanding views of the mountains and valleys nearby!

Having stayed at many nice mountain cottages, we were surprised at how The Roost stands out - both outside and throughout the quaint interior, which is decorated with whimsical chicken accessories and prints. Was not wasted on this older couple.

A restful Roost

Even though we were there during Helene a really bad storm. we were safe and had a beautiful view. the house was beautifully decorated and well set up. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. After the storm we received helpful support from our host and others we met.

Amazing gem!

Would not hesitate to stay here again. Very easy to get to, all sorts of shops and restaurants very close by, hostess is just awesome with offering all sorts of fun stuff to do. The Roost truly feels like a home. We stay in so many rental cabins in the mountains, and so many of them feel "incomplete" and missing many items to make a home feel like a home. Not so with The Roost. I truly feel I could host a holiday dinner here. Shower pressure was great, gas stove, icemaker with fresh ice upon arrival. I think the water is soft, too! Fantastic home!

It was love at first sight As we drove up to the cottage, the pink rhododendrons were in full bloom. They were gorgeous. Other plants and flowers all around. The porch has a swing and several comfy rockers and the most beautiful views of the Balsam mountains. The cottage was clean and well stocked. The split floor plan was an extra bonus as my husband and I brought along his 88yo father. He loved having his own bed and bath. Very happy place. Can’t wait to return.

Absolutely Amazing!

The Roost is an amazing, comfortable and clean home for a stay in Waynesville and surrounding areas! The home was available to us just as promised on VRBO. The hosts were quick to provide check-in information as well as very prompt in responding to any questions or concerns. A chirping fire alarm was quickly settled by the host! The layout of the home is perfect for privacy of guests; all facilities, appliances, TVs were new and easy to operate. The Roost's colorful decor provides a comfortable and homey feel. The large front porch facing the mountains was furnished with rockers and a porch swing for relaxing any time of day or night. We enjoy the Waynesville shops, restaurants, consignment establishments and other opportunities, and all were an easy 10-minute drive from our location. Rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Sunburst Valley never disappoint and are also easily accessible from the Roost. The Lyn Lowery cross can also be spotted from the property (a wonderful story to read about) at night. The hosts provide a wealth of helpful information on area highlights and restaurant offerings. We plan to return with family in the fall for another relaxing, fun stay at the Roost.

GREAT FOR SMALL FAMILY

Exceptionally clean. All on one floor, except entrance to front porch - no step out the back. Very nice view of the mountains from the large porch with a swing and rocking chairs, even a nice table for 8 or more. Toys and games for young and old. The drive up is a bit steep, but normally should be no problem. Not too private, but private enough. There was some highway noise.

Beautiful Mountain Memories

The Roost is a well-appointed, very attractive, conveniently laid out home surrounded by beautiful flowers and offering a wonderful view of the mountains covered with autumn leaves while we were there. We enjoyed taking short drives to downtown Waynesville as well as to grocery stores and restaurants. We also enjoyed drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Overall a wonderful visit!
