Cozy place to stay with many bedrooms so everyone had their own space. Overall great and would stay again. My main critique is that the listing does not detail the hard 11 PM quiet time in the neighborhood. It was disappointing to get those details a few days before. We would have loved to enjoy the fire pit and the deck at night but what’s the point in starting a fire if you have to go inside in an hour or 2. That should be included in the initial information in my opinion. The house also has very hard water and the smell is so overwhelming for face washing and showering.

The house was lovely and the perfect size for the 4 of us, although it would easily accommodate quite a few more people. I really appreciated the very comfortable bed and living room furniture! Everything was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. There were also TP and paper towels. We rented a boat and the dock was easily accessible at the edge of lawn in this quiet neighborhood on one of the canals. There were 2 casual restaurants and the grocery/liquor store very close by, too. John was very responsive to the couple of questions we had prior to arriving, and the digital lock code made it very simple to come and go. The lake itself is wonderful with a shallow, sandy bottom over most of it where you can anchor and play. It's also really big with no houses along a large stretch of it where the Yankee Springs Recreation Area is situated. The four of us have rented houses together for over 20 years, and this house ranks right near the top. I highly recommend it.

Pre-communication was awesome we were able to check in a little early the first day. Everything was cleaned and well stocked including waffle maker which we used every day. All facilities were in great condition and the 4 bedrooms were all huge with plenty of space for everyone. Grill , deck & yard is where we spent most of our time and location was perfect. 2 minute drive for ice cream and a 11 minute walk to pizza & drinks!! We will be staying again!

Great Family Get-Away at Wonderful Gun Lake House

This lake house was perfect for our family vacation. Owner was thoughtful to provide all the extras like beach towels, toiletries, laundry items, etc. Kitchen was well stocked with all the right appliances and very nice dishes and silverware. Our family loved the 3 king sized beds!!! Property was well groomed. House was very clean and neat. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a wonderful stay on Gun Lake.

Great vacation

We had our 2 sons and their families with us for a wonderful vacation. This house was very nice, clean, amd spacious. They had about everything you would need there. The bedrooms are very large and on the other end of the house which is nice with a large family sharing the house. Kitchen is large and outdoor area is very nice. Would definitely rent here again.

We loved the peaceful and serene location of this home and spent many hours on the deck enjoying the channel views. Mattresses are so comfy. Home is very well maintained. John, the owner, went above and beyond in purchasing a new Keurig and making certain that we had everything we needed. He was willing to take us for a lake tour on his pontoon (for a reasonable fee). Restaurants within 5-10 minutes include Russo’s, The Curley Cone, C’s BBQ and the Sandbar. Thank you, John!Sherry, Dawn, Gayle and Ellen

Great Family Vacation Spot!

The house has clean, uncluttered and comfortable living space, tidy bathrooms, comfortable king-size beds in the primary bedrooms, plenty of hooks where you need them, and an easy kitchen to cook in and prepare food. The yard had a nice deck, shade trees and sunny areas providing plenty of space to relax and launch the kayaks, and enjoy the fire pit. Gun Lake is a large and deep lake which made fishing great; large mouth bass and northerns were the largest catches, with blue gills and perch the easy catches. Having a marina right on the lake made pontoon rental a breeze. The Russo’s Pizzeria, very nearby, was another great resource in the area! All this provided a great family vacation spot.

Enjoyed our stay at Gun Lake. Everything was comfortable and clean. Our grandkids enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks! Restaurants were minutes away. Would certainly like to go back.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to Gun Lake. The house is filled with all the conveniences of home, which made cooking a meal easy. The beds and linens were comfortable and clean. The host was very accommodating and answered quickly.The neighborhood is quiet, which made for a very pleasant, relaxing vacation.

Book here - you won't be disappointed

We had a great time at this rental!! It had everything we needed, the location was great, we rented a boat and tied up at their pier, used the kayak, enjoyed the hot tub. You know how some places offer you a thimble full of supplies (dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap, etc) when you get there? Well that won't happen here. The owner seems to care about our experience and we had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood, great deck. We bought wood but didn't get a chance to use the fire pit - maybe next time. Owner was responsive. We would absolutely rent again. Thanks, John.

John is an amazing host! Would recommend his properties to anyone looking in Wayland. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more! Great in responding to messages as well Had to do wedding floral for a nieces wedding and it was stressful! Was nice to return home and relax in the hot tub!!!
