We were picked up and brought directly to our homestay. Their son took us to snorkeling with the sharks, very happy and professional. We always felt safe and part of the family. A family member had passed away amd they included all 7 of the homeestays in all of the true Fijian traditions. We felt like honored guests. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Staying with Bill and Paula was one of the highlights of our trip to Fiji. They welcomed us like family and gave us a genuine experience that we will never forget. Bill was an amazing host—friendly, helpful, and always willing to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. And Paula’s cooking deserves special recognition! Every meal she prepared was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Honestly, her food was some of the best we ate during our entire trip. We looked forward to every meal, and you could taste the care she put into everything she served. If you want a warm, authentic Fijian experience with wonderful people and incredible homemade food, stay with Bill and Paula. We arrived as guests but left feeling like family. We would absolutely stay with them again!

Bill and Paula were gracious and accommodating hosts. Bill was a master captain and happy to share his local knowledge. Very relaxing stay.

The pictures are not accurate. The beach is full of garbage and wild packs of dogs that are fighting you for food. The building had no electricity although we found out later. It was solar, but the hose never came down to meet us. We just sat in the dark, also even with earplugs, the giant fruit dropping from 20 feet on the tin roof was enough to wake anybody out of sleep. If the dogs trying to break into the cabin didn’t keep you up. There was also no hot water. There is no coral reefs off the property. Excursions must be arranged, and I would imagine those are the same as the ones offered by barefoot Kuata

So let me start by saying you won't be living in the lap of luxury, but you will have an experience you'll never forget! Bill and Paula are so kind, lovely, and accommodating! The house is simple, wifi is rare as well as electric but it's clean, remote and everything you'd imagine a remote island to be. It was nice to unplug from the world and the scenery was truly mind-blowing. Idk that I'd recommend this place in super hot months but for the middle of July, it was GREAT!

We had a lovely time at Bill and Paula's homestay. Super friendly family, our kids had the best time with their adopted pets and new friends. Can't wait to go back!

What an experience. Bill and Paula and their extended family were so kind, and really made us feel welcome in their family and their village of Yamata. The accommodations were clean, the food was excellent, and Bill was great with communication leading up to our visit. Snorkeling with sharks is not to be missed, and same with the low tide beach that is walkable (between Wayasewa and Wayalevu). Read all the other reviews so you know how to prepare, and you will have an unforgettable experience. Our family won't forget our time at this homestay.

Bill and Paula and the whole community were amazingly kind. This was a rustic and genuine experience to be immersed into a warm Fijian community. We should have realized some of the limitations that we would face, (no a/c, limited power supply, steep steps to the main house for meals, etc) traveling with my elderly mother before we booked this, but everyone was kind, thoughtful and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our snorkeling with sharks excursion. The Island and water was warm, inviting and refreshing. Paula was a great cook and we enjoyed their Fiji hospitality.

Wonderfull stay here

We had a wonderful time! Bill and Paula were incredibly kind and welcomed us with open arms. We ate very well, and the room was very clean. Thanks to Bill, we were able to swim with the reef sharks, and it was amazing!Thank you for everything; we miss you!

We loved staying at our Wayasewa homestayPaula’s cooking was outstandingShe really went over and above with local culinary delightsWe had the beach accommodation to ourselves and it was very spacious We especially loved the company of little Iva our homestay’s grandaughter One week was a little too long though

Snorkeling with the sharks was amazing. You need to ask Bill to take you on this excursion. Accommodation is basic -as you should expect for the price - but has everything you need. Food was good and plentiful.

Bill and Paula, along with their family are gracious hosts! We enjoyed our stay and excursions. Our 4 children ages 5 to 11, enjoyed the snorkeling and the boat rides and the food and the company!

'Fiji time' has never been so accurate

We loved our authentic island village stay with Bill and Paula's on Wayasewa island in the Yamata village. The accomodation has a simple uncomplicated vibe and is located beside the beach.

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 16y, 10y, 3y) stayed here for 3 nights. Bill and Pola were amazing, 10/10 recommend this beautiful homestay to any families wanting to experience the real Fiji.Communication during planning was excellent, Bill took care of everything including road transfers from our hotel on the coral coast then a trip in his open top boat to the island. He organised a package for us including snorkelling with sharks, picnic lunch at blue lagoon, limestone caves and manta rays.Pollas meals were delicious and plentiful, with enough variety to cater for everyone.The whole village was very welcoming and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Community, Wonderful Experience

Lovely Fijian cabin stay on a remote island, with everything cared for by Paula and Bill. The kids all played really well in the waves, and we loved snorkelling with reef sharks and beautiful fish. Thank you B&P and the whole community who welcomed us.

Must go for a real traditional Fijian experience

Bill and his family were great hosts. We had a few hiccups with a broken water line but it was fixed quickly. We had the Honor of attending the 1yr passing celebration of their chief. The food and hospitality was fantastic. The weather wasn't on our side most of the trip

Great tribal village experience

Bill and his family supplied us with an authentic tribal village iexperience. Got to live the native island life for 3 days. Eat their food, live in their accommodations, meet the village people and visit some amazing islands. Hospitality was top notch.

Amazing experience

Could not recommend this highly enough. Bill and Paula are amazing generous hosts, and when you stay with them, you are will be living with the whole village and the whole island. If you want an experience that will create memories that stay with you, this is the one.

Paradise and a taste of Fijian island life

We had a truely wonderful experience with Bill, Polla, their children and their grandchildren. All of them played a part to contribute to a meaningful and authentic time in their island village. The snorkelling straight out from the accommodation was amazing and the day trips that Bill and Ebo took us on were unforgettable. We felt safe on their boat, and had full bellies every mealtime from Polla and Nani’s exceptional cooking skills. We were treated to Fijian fruits and vegetables and lots of freshly caught fish- some of which we caught ourselves!A truely unforgettable off grid and unplugged experience.Vinaka vaka levu

Wonderful off-grid village homestay

Bill and Paula are such kind and gracious hosts. My two teens and I enjoyed the privilege of being welcomed into two Fijian villages, eating Paula’s nutritious food, boating to an uninhabited island and great snorkeling beyond the second village. A truly special experience that ended with them taking us back to the mainland by long boat.
