Excellent Location to Granite Peak Skiing

The house was a 3 minute drive to Granite Peak skiing and 15 minutes to downtown Wausau. Very spacious home for our family of 5 - could have even had another family stay with us as there is a nice basement that multiple kids could sleep in. The house was well supplied with pots/pans, cooking spices, basic condiments and coffee! My only small complaint was that they didn't have a wine opener and we had to go get one at the local grocery store. We'll bring our own next time. Thanks for a great stay!

Ultimate house for skiing at Granite Peak

This is my first choice house to stay at when skiing at Granite Peak. A group of friends make our yearly trip to ski/snowboard at Granite Peak. This house is the perfect location as our base camp to go for the weekend. Every year, we feel totally comfortable in the space and get to relax in the house. Very open concept first floor which makes for great entertaining. The kitchen is well stocked. The privacy is great away from all the hustling and bustling of the main road. We are already planning on coming back next year. Highly recommend this place. Easy communication and really love all the wireless chargers around the house. Thank you for opening your house to us.

Perfect Location, Easy Stay!

This house was a great base for our 2 family ski trip. Lots of hang out areas for our different groups of kids. Well stocked kitchen and baths. Plenty of sleeping space. Easy communication with owner. The only thing that we would have changed about the house was the bathroom setup- only 1 shower and the 1/2 bath is a few feet from the breakfast table making for some funny mornings. Obviously these things are structural and can't be changed easily at this point. Just something to keep in mind if you have a big group. We skied 2 days and we're able to run back to the house quickly for lunch each day. There's a closet just inside the door to store your ski boots in to keep them from freezing. We appreciated the access to the garage and laundry. Overall, it was a great stay for 2 families looking for easy access to Granite Peaks!

Great house and location to Granite Peak

This house was perfect for our weekend ski vacation. The location is perfect right next to Granite Peak. There was plenty of room for the 2 families (4 adults and 4 kids). The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The gas fireplace was nice to add extra warmth and ambience after skiing. The check in/out process and communicating with Karen was very easy. The only issue we had was that, while there are 2.5 bathrooms, only one bathroom had the shower. The other full bathroom had a large tub only which we didn’t use. Not a big deal breaker, we just had to work around when people could shower. Overall a great place.

Family Ski Trip

Great location if you are planning a ski trip as you are just a few minutes from the front door of Granite Peak. The house was very clean and well stocked. Quiet neighborhood with a pretty wooded view out back. Only potential downside is there is no shower in the master bedroom, just a large jacuzzi tub. Overall a very nice home and good communication throughout.

Very nice

This is one of the nicest VRBO rentals we have tried in Wausau. In some other markets, it would be average but there are many shabby places in Wausau and this is definitely above that. And Karen, the owner was very helpful and responsive

Ski getaway

Like all previous reviewers have shared; the house was spotless, the extra condiments, spices, k-cups etc appreciated. The location to and from Granite Peak cannot be beat! Even on sold out New Years days we had no issue returning to the house for lunch then driving back, able to nab a parking spot. It was terrific to have a full house to make for a relaxing family getaway vs cramming into a hotel room. Thank you!

Spring break ski trip

We chose to come to Granite Peak to ski at spring break in hope to still find snow at the end of March and we were not disappointed! The house is super close to the slopes and had everything we needed to have a very nice stay and enjoy full day skiing. We also enjoyed watching birds in the backyard and the proximity to restaurants and groceries.

Spring skiing family fun

Stayed 3 nights to ski two days. So close to Granite Peak. Extremely convenient, clean, spacious. We could come home for meals and get right back to the slopes. Great location, great house.

Perfect accommodations for a family of 4-5. Clean, comfortable quiet, and very close to skiing. Very nice to pull into a garage and enter the home easily with bulky equipment. Very nice finished basement. Laundry and TV's. Could not ask for anything more.

Location and communication were great.

This home is about as close to the ski hill/golf course as you can get. The host was great to communicate and work with. Garage parking was a plus. The home itself was just as pictured and listed. Very happy overall.

Had a group of eight of us rent the house for a GP ski weekend. Everything was as advertised. Beautiful house with plenty of space (note that there are only 3 bedrooms so a couple of us had to sleep on couches. We were aware of this going in though). It’s very conveniently located at less than a three minute drive to the mountain. Karen was very helpful and responsive too. 5 stars all the way!
