"Staff were brilliant, rooms have been let go from a maintenance point of view. Food was tasty but very over priced, especially the breakfast. Would have made a complaint if I’d had to pay £18 for that had it not been included with the nights stay. Drinks reasonably priced though."

"The staff at this hotel are way above what you normally encounter. What an absolute delight. Whoever trains their people deserves a star as consistently high standards are notoriously hard to achieve. I also like the location which is lovely and tranquil with pretty great views. The food and drink choice should also be commended. I stay daily regularly around the area for work and now I’ve found this gem, will definitely stay again."

"A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. I booked a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the river and the view was wow! On the hottest Bank Holiday for years, I left the French doors...

"Good for the price"

"One of times I booked the mirror and surfaces was dirty like the cleaner was dirty. Also me and my partner got banned without a reason and when we booked following time they refused to provide service or provide explanation. Strange people"

"The team who served me were helpful and friendly. The guy who checked me in was efficient and really nice, so the procvess was quick but he made me feel very welcome. I had dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both."

"Very good value. Excellent parking. Staff friendly and helpful when available. Bed comfortable and clean. The fan worked well but lacked its remote control. WiFi signal in the (courtyard) room weak. A smart television with streamer access and stations beyond Freeview would have been appreciated. Had a terrific meal and wine in the restaurant followed by a pleasant walk along a quiet road into Miskin village afterwards. I would happily return."

"Breakfast was ok, but it would have been nice to have more variety. The coffee machine only dispensed hot water, leaving instant coffee as only available option. It would have been great to have a coffee machine that brewed fresh coffee or at least a simple coffee maker with whole beans. However, there were hot food options available for a traditional British breakfast, which I found to be very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near the train and bus stations, as well as a shopping...

"Staff friendly and helpful A customer from the pub immediately offered to help with luggage showing really good connection between local customers and the staff Rooms to a very high standard - no aircon but a fan was made available on request Comfortable bed Car park fairly small but ok Great selection of local beers all properly cellared Unfortunate hiccup at breakfast as gas failed - staff did well to provide an acceptable breakfast in the circumstances We would definitely stay again"

"The hotel is modern, the room is properly laid out and spacious, beds are comfy, bathroom/shower area is awesome, love the towel warmer. The location is accessible and near to bus and train station, During night time, the areas around the hotel is well lit. and most importantly, Staffs are friendly and helpful."

"Spa very good, restaurant service good, staff pretty friendly. Booked 3 hotel rooms, one overlooking golf course had tremendous views, two facing a brick wall and lots of weeds pretty uninspiring. Plenty of parking and easy to find."
