We were originally booked at John and Rebecca's riverfront location but due to a double booking they moved us to their Cedar Point Retreat and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The location was off a quiet little inlet on Tichigan Lake, which meant it was quiet from the boats but you could still see everything. We happened to be there over the 4th of July and got to watch the fireworks from the pier too - a special surprise!
The house is beautifully renovated and wonderful for a family or one to three couples to enjoy a getaway close to the Chicago suburbs. The appliances are all brand new and work wonderfully, and there were simple things left in the fridge for us - eggs, ketchup, Bloody Mary mix, and even some ice cream cones in the freezer! (We didn't really use anything but a couple eggs, but it's nice to have condiments!).
As for things to do and restaurants - John and Rebecca do offer pontoon rental off their pier, and we had breakfast at Cafe 123 (delicious and perfect proportions) and dinner at Fork in the Road (REALLY GOOD FOOD).
Highly recommend John and Rebecca's properties!
