Settle into a peaceful lakefront retreat on Blodgett Lake, just about 10 minutes from Wasilla and roughly an hour from Anchorage. This private top-floor lake house is designed for guests who want comfort, scenery, and easy access to Alaska adventure.
Start your morning with coffee on the south-facing deck overlooking the water. Spend the day paddling the lake, fishing, exploring nearby trails, or heading out toward Hatcher Pass, Talkeetna, Matanuska Glacier, Denali, or the Kenai Peninsula. In the evening, return to a quiet home base where you can grill on the deck, watch the lake, and unwind.
The home includes two comfortable queen bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, electric range and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee makers, blender, rice cooker, crock pot, cookware, knives, and utensils. Complimentary starter coffee and tea are provided.
The main bathroom includes a rain shower and soaking tub combination, with quality towels, shampoo, body wash, and hand soap provided. With advance notice, an inflatable twin bed may be available for an additional sleeping arrangement.
The lakefront setting is one of the highlights of the stay. During the summer short-term rental season, guests can enjoy the dock, kayaks, canoe, pedal boat, and fishing gear. Life jackets are provided and recommended. Blodgett Lake is a peaceful, mile-long lake with a 15 hp restriction on motorized boats, making it well suited for paddling, wildlife viewing, fishing, and quiet relaxation.
The south-facing deck includes outdoor seating and a propane grill, creating an easy place to enjoy meals with a lake view. A lakeside fire ring is available when local fire restrictions and conditions allow. Firewood bundles are available for $10.
Inside, the home has warm Alaska character, including locally curated rock around the decorative wood stove and cabinetry crafted from Alaskan birch. The wood stove is decorative only and is not available for guest use.
The home has excellent drinking water from its on-site well, so bottled water is not needed unless you prefer it. A well-stocked grocery store, fuel, basic supplies, and outdoor gear are available nearby, with Three Bears about a mile away.
Arrival is straightforward. Navigation apps work well, with a scenic paved route and a brief forested dirt-road stretch near the property. Two guest parking spaces are located in front of the house, and a short flight of stairs leads to the private top-floor entrance with electronic keypad self check-in.
Whether you are planning hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, day trips, or quiet time by the water, this lake house offers a comfortable and memorable Alaska home base.
We look forward to hosting you.
