The Hawthorne area is quaint and loaded with dining and shopping options; while streets are busy it is quite walkable, and not far from gorgeous areas like Mt. Tabor Park. "This property is walkable to Woodstock and Reed College. I walked every morning to get coffee and Papaccinos (best latte ever) and walked to Reed in the evenings to watch the sunset or walk the canyon. I felt very safe in the neighborhood. The home was impeccably clean with good toiletries. Plenty of kitchen equipment to make a meal or to bring back take out. The owner was very responsive and easily understood in his responses. Finding another reason to come back to Portland. from this kid."

"Clean room, responsive hosts, and a small kitchen area with cereal provided for breakfast. My room was tiny and cozy, which was perfect for a solo traveler. I saw they have other larger rooms. You need to climb a flight of stairs to access the rooms, and there are 2½ bathrooms shared among 7 people. The location was very convenient, walkable to a few dining options. Trader Joe's is right next door for anything you might need (including parking). That area is a bit sketchy though, so don't...
