The Hotel overbooked on the night we arrived and cancelled our reservation while we were still on the flight. When we landed, we were notified through the Expedia messaging app that the hotel was sorry that we had to cancel our stay, despite us not having altered our reservation. We were still confirmed through Expedia. When we called the hotel they put us on hold for half an hour while they pretended to look for our “lost” reservation knowing full well that they had given the room we reserved to someone else. When asked if they could compensate or rebook us another room, they refused to give help. Despite us being patient through our frustration, the staff named Sandra, responded with a lot of attitude. Expedia relocation services continually offered “comparable” rooms but quickly reneged after contacting hotels which were also overbooked. This is the last time we will be booking packaged trips through Expedia. In the end, we called a motel on our own which happened to have availability and booked by phone. Future travelers in the Maryland and DC area should be weary of booking here if they want to have a guaranteed reservation.
