Wayne is an excellent host. He met us promptly and had a lovely selection of snacks, pastries, and fresh coffee waiting for us after a long days travel. He is very informative with lots of information on things to do and how to get everywhere while visiting Washington DC. Although the neighborhood is a an older area it is safe and everyone we crossed in the streets were pleasant. The closeness to the blue line metro can’t be beat. You can get anywhere you want in a few short minutes.

This was a great location for getting around DC, the metro station was literally a 3 minute walk down the same road, no turns no confusion. The host was super informative prior to and during the trip. He was great about checking in and giving us suggestions that fit our groups needs. When our flight was delayed he worked with us to allow the other half of our party access to the property before we got there. Definitely a surprise find in a big city. Highly recommend!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Wayne was the absolutele best host at any VRBO we have stayed at. Upon booking he was communicating with us with directions, things to do, how to use the metro and fun areas to visit and eat. Before even arriving we felt we could master the city. When we arrived we were greated by Wayne who graciously offered us the space even though we were early. He had a complete brunch set up on the table with fresh french press coffee. Along with basics in the fridge to get us started if we didn't want to venture out. He has ample reading material on the city and metro. The apartment has everything you need right down to floss. The beds were soft but really comfortable and lulled us to sleep for our evening naps after exploring for hours. Fixing an evening drink and sitting in his fenced in patio was so nice. Waking up listening to the birds chirping made me ready for summers back at home. Even in the city it had a comfort of country to it.We mastered the metro with Wayne's help. It was so easy and quick. You do not need to rent a car there and glad we didn't.We had a really early flight and Wayne met us at the door making sure we were off okay and our Uber was there. If we ever needed to visit D.C. again I would absolutely book with Wayne again. He was a pure joy in knowledge with the kindest soul.

This was a wonderful place, and Wayne was a wonderful host. He had a cheese plate awaiting us for our anniversary and was always quick to reply and suggest activities around town. The apartment was small and cozy, just as described. The bed was pretty soft, but I like it that way. We felt safe here day or night out walking from the Metro Station that was a little over 500 feet away and VERY CONVIENENT! Overall A++

Wayne is a very gracious host. The apartment is just as described. My family and I had a very comfortable stay and if we had any questions, Wayne was available to answer them. The apartment was ready for us when we arrived and Wayne provided many staple items if we needed them. We have already recommended this to our friends. If you want a place close to the metro this is the perfect place.

This property is accurately depicted in the photos. It is very conveniently located close to the metro. We didn't hava any issue with parking. Wayne is the most helpful host I've encountered. He made sure that we understood the metro system, gave recommendations for sites to see, provided us with metro cards that we could load, and left fruit on the table. He really went above and beyond. The apartment was well stocked with a variety of supplies that were helpful.

We loved that this apt is so close to the metro which we used over and over daily during our stay. Wayne was a personable host who left us food to jump start our stay, many brochures and books about the area and advice. Though this apt is located in a less-advantaged side of the city, every single person we met in the area was helpful and friendly. The apt met our needs. Would return.

We traveled from Indianapolis and planned on spending most of our trip visiting the Smithsonian. This location is so close to a metro station and had good reviews so we booked it. We all felt safe and the host was very attentive. Our neighbor even helped open the gate for me while my hands were full with groceries. I would recommend staying here.

I'll start with before the trip... our host would send information of events that would be happening during our visit that we may be interested in doing. He was wonderful with accommodating our weird flight schedule and making sure we felt welcome. We flew all night and arrived about 830 the next morning. He asked us to let him know when we were getting close on the metro and he had coffee and food waiting for us. He also had a ton of information and a metro map to make our trip fun and easy. He told us the best places to go (hidden gems) and places that weren't really worth the trip. That was so helpful! The apartment was great and is filled with his own artwork... LOVED IT! He also put food and drinks in the fridge for us which came in so handy, especially the first night when we didn't have the energy to go out to eat. The apartment was clean, incredibly well stocked and such a cozy place. The neighborhood is kinda cute and the people we would pass on the streets were all really friendly. However, as he mentioned in his description... if you are worried about diversity, his isn't the place for you. Wayne, the host, is stellar! We would come back from long days of sightseeing and would find pastries and baked goods hanging in a sack on the door for us! One night we were out until a little after 11 pm because we did a nighttime monument tour and he watched for us to make sure we made it back safely. Wayne's such a kind & genuine person!!! Book this place!

the property was just as described. Maybe a liitle rough around the edges but very comfortable. Personal touches of host's art decorate the apt. Super convenient to Metro. Our host volunteered a mini tutorial on using Metro which was very helpful to public transit Virgins. Mr Wayne very personable host. It shows that he enjoys hosting, with whatever level of interaction guests choose. As we are two 65+ women. I had expressed concern about returning via Metro after 10 pm. He assured me no guests had experienced any problem. He texted me at 10:30 to see if we were on the way home. I assured him we were close and he responded he would be outside. You can see apt from just outside Metro. We limped home. The next day he left Epsom salt (for soaking tired feet), A thoughful touch. If I ever return to DC, I will stay here. He even helped us carry our things in and out to our car. We're not frail but but appreciated his help. I'd estimate he's in his 70s but a gentleman who looks after his guests. Overall, a good and informative visit.

A lovely and quaint apartment with everything one could need for a very comfortable stay. More importantly Wayne is a wealth of information and assistance who truly enhanced our visit to DC. We were well pleased with the apartment’s proximity to the metro and DCs excellent public Transit system. The walk to the metro is barely 2 minutes. I know where we’ll stay the next time we visit DC.

Convenient location for Metro access. Host provided plenty of info for public transportation, sight-seeing & grocery/restaurant options; also provided pasta on the first evening so I didn't need to venture out after driving all day. I appreciated being able to use the patio area.Thanks Wayne!

This flat has everything you need including washing machine, games, books and even a waffle maker. Furthermore Wayne provides lots of food and other essentials - no need to go shopping on your first day. Blue and silver lines depart just around the corner directly to airports and National Mall.

This place was as good as the reviews had promised. When we arrived later than planned on Saturday, the owner had frozen chicken in the freezer, fresh cookies, and other food available. Several times we found food dropped off at our door - muffins, apples, etc. The owner offered to pick up something for us if needed when my husband did not feel well. The beds were comfortable, so we slept great! We were about a 3 minute walk from the Metro, and two lines went through which made for frequent trains. There was no trouble parking right across the street from the apartment. The owner was quick to respond to any questions, and he had suggestions for activities when the weather did not cooperate. Knowing there was not a dishwasher, we brought plenty of disposable dishes which worked fine for our needs. We didn't use the tv at all as we were out exploring or using our various devices. There was plenty of space for our things and comfortable seating in the living room. We didn't use it much, but there was a nice little patio outside. I felt comfortable going on evening walks and could easily stay to lower traffic areas. We had a great time, enjoyed where we stayed, and will strongly consider staying here again when we visit DC some day. If you want to do a lot of cooking and not need to wash dishes by hand, then somewhere else would be better. Otherwise I would recommend this location!

Wayne went out of his way sharing information about DC before we arrived. When we arrived Wayne further explained the subway system and places to eat along with providing food for our first night. AC worked great, accommodations were comfortable. Location to access subway was perfect. Neighbors were friendly. I would recomend this VRBO. Thanks for your great hospitality Wayne

Our stay was pleasant and I might be willing to stay here again due to the pros listed below. I really struggled writing this review but felt it best to simply list observations and leave it at that. Pros: -Inexpensive -Close to Metro -Soft beds -Great host who was informative, communicative, and provided some food for when we arrived -Lots of things included such as umbrellas, sunscreen, spices, etc that are left over from previous renters -Fully stocked kitchen -Games in the closet -Sleeps 6 -Frozen food left over from previous renters was useful Cons: -It’s an old house/apartment and includes all of the things you would expect —The doors stick —needs a good painting —Tiny bathroom —Vinyl tile on ceiling in kitchen is falling down —Wood floors could use a good cleaning -Kitchen table is plywood covered in a table cloth —This wasn’t a problem but was unexpected when one of my kids leaned on the table and it tilted and looking at the photo of the dining area showing a glass top tells me a previous renter broke the glass and the host just hasn’t purchased a new one. -A lot of the things included really shouldn’t be left around once a renter leaves such as open toiletries and food. -Only contains 3 beds when you include the futon in the living room. -Only one tiny TV in the living room Overall we were happy with our stay.

We had an excellent stay in Wayne's first-floor apartment. First of all, Wayne is an outstanding host. Because our flight was delayed, we arrived quite late. Wayne was still there to meet us at the door. He was also concerned that we might be hungry after our delay, so he placed some extra groceries in the apartment. He gave us advice about where to eat, how to get around, and what to do in D.C. We greatly appreciated his help. The apartment had every amenity that we could have asked for. Every time I thought, "I wonder if there is a...," the answer was "Yes." Wayne had even stocked some breakfast essentials so we could get started with our touring right away the next morning without going out to search for something to eat. Finally, the location was super convenient. The apartment is two blocks from a blue-line and silver-line Metro station. Three stops down the line are a Trader Joes, a CVS, and some great restaurants. And the blue/silver lines take you to important attractions like many of the Smithsonian museums, the National Mall, and the Capital building. Thanks for everything, Wayne!

We enjoyed our stay. Wayne was available to meet us as we checked in. He was a great host. He had stocked the fridge. The apartment is as listed. We had 4 adults and had plenty of room to sit and relax when in the apartment. We did spend most days away. Just early mornings and evenings in the apartment. Parking was very easy always a spot for our rental car across the street.
