Perfect place just off the water

We had a great stay here. Kathy was a phenomenal host and was very helpful with every question we had. We had a 19ft bass boat and crew cab truck and had plenty of room to park. Can’t wait for next year!

Nice place for a get-away

House was exactly as stated on the ad. Very quaint and cute house located about 75 feet down the road from the edge of the lake. The kitchen has all the things you would need for a weekend or longer stay. We were able to comfortably sleep 6 (2 adults and 4 teenagers). The bathroom and shower were fine. The hostess was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and things to do when the lakefront was not on the plan. There were kayaks and paddleboards for use in the water. A long pier was good for impromptu fishing. Would recommend staying here.

Amazing trip!

Great location, on the lake with spots to park a boat if you have one. We used the dock for fishing, enjoyed the sand and swim area, and used the row boat for a ride too! We rented a boat from Tippy Marina so we spent one day on that lake. Next time I’d rent from Barbee marina so we could just park at the cottage and stay on our own lake all day. (Be sure to book in advance-we neglected that and we’re lucky to get a one day rental calling 2 weeks in advance at tippy). We went to the grocery store and had most meals at the cottage. We grilled mostly but also used inside for breakfast-eggs, toast, pancakes. Kathy has some spices there and all utensils you’d need. Honestly the only thing I didn’t see that I have in my home kitchen is a blender—she even had a hand mixer! My kids loved having the park area which is shared with Kathy’s other rental properties so they got to play with some new friends. Kathy suggested a ski show in town and we had a blast watching the amazing trick skiers. Grocery store was within 10-15 minutes of the cottage as were most things. Ritters ice cream was a favorite for my kids! There’s a nice little fishing store about 7 minutes away-I don’t fish but my kids wanted to and they were really nice and helpful. We drove into some of the neighboring towns to check things out which was fun. Kathy was so nice and checking in to be sure we had what we needed. We can’t wait to plan our next visit!

Getaway

Nice and clean place that was great for what we were looking for. Like the fact you had a t.v. in each room. We were visiting Middlebury and amish country more than anything else and was a little bit of a drive but very manageable and we enjoyed the scenery and the people. Kathy was nice enough to offer us a boat ride even though we had already made other plans we did appreciate the offer. Thanks.

Nice little nugget of property!

What a nice little nugget this property location is for folks looking for a little get away. This was a great place to bring our boat for a long weekend. Chain of lakes are clean and people are super friendly! Kathy was super helpful in making sure we had everything we needed

Owner was very nice and helpful! Small space but with everything we needed, and just a short walk from the lake with a dock for a boat. The day of our check out she even told us we could stay past check out time since there were no other visitors that day.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a fantastic time at the Ramona Cottage on Lake Barbee. Kathy is a SUPER Host! The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. All you need is food. Kathy was quick to respond to us whenever we needed her. She took us on a wonderful Pontoon ride to show us all the lakes connected and gave us a bit of history about the area. The neighbors were so friendly and helpful as well. Outside the cottage is a large private deck with a glider, table and chairs and a gas grill. Also a fire pit area.The lake is a short walk from the cottage. We can't wait to come back again. Thanks Kathy!

Great mid-week getaway

We stayed here for a few days of relaxation on our way back to Chicago from Vermont. Kathy is a great host who is very attentive and cares about her guests and their experience. She is also very knowledgeable about the Barbie Lakes area, having spent her childhood on this property. The cottage was well equipped, clean, and maintained nicely. It is part of a small group of cottages known as the Barbie Villas (which was operated as a resort long ago by Kathy's grandmother). There is a small convenience store 50 yards away, and a little restaurant on the water about a block further down. This cottage is just up the driveway from the lake and has access to the small beach and two piers. The cottage includes a nice gas grill and a really nice covered deck/pergola. Fishing was good right off the pier, particularly in the early morning and evening. The lakes are very nice. Kathy was kind enough to take some time to give us a tour on her new pontoon boat. Overall a very nice experience.

Fabulous weekend!!!

Our family has been renting Cottages around the North Webster area looking for a lake chain to call home. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this Lake cottage for the weekend. Lovely place and plenty of space for our boats. I would definitely recommend staying with Kathy again.

The property was on a nice part of land, although some amenities were overexaggerated, it sufficed.

Although small, there was plenty to do in and around the property. Myself and my other friends loved the area and the waterfront. We were mildly disappointed that the TV didn't work, as well as the lack of propane gas for the grill. We also attempted to cook burgers on the stovetop inside, but the fan didn't work very well, which led to some smoky problems. Overall this property was a nice place to stay for a weekend, but the amenities are a tad overexaggerated.

Charming, homey, just what I needed!

My stay at the Ramona cottage at Big Barbee Lake was fantastic. I only wish I had a few more days there. Kathy, the owner was over the top helpful and guided us to the most terrific sights, restaurants and activities. She respected our privacy, and at the same time made us feel very welcome. The food was spectacular at the Barbee Hotel, and I am NOT a foodie! The lake was not congested with tons of watercraft vehicles and the water was warm for swimming and relaxing. I will definitely be returning. If you are looking for a quiet get away from the hectic busy life, I sincerely recommend this location!
