Everything was exactly as described. Very clean. Lots of dishes and cooking equipment. Quiet and secluded. Close to west Jefferson but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility. Enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub.

We absolutely loved this cozy, secluded cabin for our annual girls’ weekend. It feels tucked away, yet it’s only about a 20-minute drive to West Jefferson. Which was perfect for a day of shopping, great local spots, and delicious restaurants.The cabin itself fit our group perfectly. The four queen beds upstairs made it feel like an upscale adult summer camp, in the best way. The hot tub and spacious decks were ideal for relaxing, soaking, and long conversations.A short walk down the drive leads to the river, with picturesque views of the Christmas tree farm. It truly felt like stepping into a Hallmark movie for the weekend.Everyone agreed: this is our new annual spot!

The cabin was impeccable and smelled brand new! The attention to every little detail was incredible. We felt at home during our stay. Karen was wonderful and answered my questions immediately.My husband and I stayed for 2 nights, but wish we could have stayed longer. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary here, and will definitely be back again next year!! This is the perfect cabin for a nice getaway to read, relax and reconnect with your spouse!!

Secluded cabin for total relaxation!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sugar Tree Lodge!! Karen was a great host and very responsive! She was even willing to come to the cabin to bring batteries for a remote control (which wasn't necessary with 4 TVs in the cabin)! Check in was smooth and seamless and everything was as listed. The instructions to get to the cabin were very thoughtful and helpful! The kitchen had everything you could need to cook with including a few spices to get you started. The bed was comfy and the rooms were cozy! We loved the custom made vanity in the master bedroom! The jacuzzi was perfect even in the lower than expected temperatures! We used the fire pit too and roasted marshmallows! The Wi-Fi was fast and I was able to work during the day and relax watching our favorite Netflix shows at night. The cabin is truly secluded so do not expect any visitors unless you invite them! The cabin is close enough to West Jefferson to go exploring during the day! We checked out the Old Barn Winery and the Ashe County Cheese Factory (both suggested by Karen) while we were there and loved both! We also visited a few restaurants but cooked at the cabin as well. And best of all our pup enjoyed the trip with us! We would definitely stay at the Sugar Tree Lodge again when visiting family in the West Jefferson/Crumpler area!!

Peaceful Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin! The cabin was clean and secluded. The location gives a private, peaceful feel, but close enough to town for groceries and activities. The cabin was as advertised and communication with the host excellent. Can’t wait to come back for another visit!

Quick weekend getaway

Property was so cute and cozy! I loved all the beds, storage space and cottage vibes. The hot tub in the early morning was so peaceful. The road is a little rough due to gravel and some up hill but manageable. Also I believe this property is tucked away enough but still in a place where there are locals down the road. It’s very quiet and serene. The Main Street of West Jefferson is about a 20 min drive. I would love to return in the future!

Cycling getaway

Stayed here with a couple of friends for 2 days to go biking in the Lansing / West Jeff area. Th weather was great. Sugar tree lodge was a perfect location and the lodge was clean, beds were comfortable and had a great secluded mountain cabin vibe. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the bike. Karen was a great host and very responsive.

Perfect mountain getaway

We hade a great stay at Sugar Tree Lodge, the cabin is adorable, very clean, and has everything you would need. Amazing value if you plan on staying with multiple couples and kids, as the cabin very comfortable sleeps 8 and has 2 full baths. The lot is nice and secluded, plenty of privacy when using the hot tub. Strongly recommend taking a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Not for children

When I made the reservation, the ages of my children were stated. This was not a place to take young children by no means! Had it been adults, would have been fantabulous! Definitely would have been wiser to invest funds elsewhere for a family vacation Gorgeous property yes! The split AC unit was not up to par for this size of a lodge. Turned it down to 60 and never cooled down, ended up sleeping with a fan on the bed.

Annual Sisters and kids family Trip

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for in our week get away from the city. The cabin was well stocked with what we needed and there were 3 different groceries within 20 minutes of us. There are also several hiking opportunities within a short drive with beautiful sights. We enjoyed our trip.

Perfect Place for a Mountain Getaway

We loved staying at Sugar Tree Lodge. The setting and cabin were beautiful! It was such a relaxing stay! Our family enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, making s'mores by the fire pit, and sitting on the porch swings in the cool mountain air! We had plenty of space with room for everyone to spread out if needing some quiet time as well as lots of seating for everyone if we wanted to play games or watch a show together as a family. The lodge was stocked with everything you would need. Karen was very proactive in checking-in to see if we needed anything and was very responsive if we had questions, even before our trip started. I would highly recommend staying at the Sugar Tree Lodge if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the NC mountains!

Great Getaway

The Sugar Tree Lodge was great for our family of four! We decided to all sleep in the upstairs loft because it had a "treehouse" feel, and it was great to watch movies on the big television.
