We had the best time staying at Castaway Cove. Ellie and Kelly are wonderful hosts who have thought of absolutely everything. They know all the best places to have the quintessential Oregon Coast experience from agate hunting to tasty restaurants and tourists activities and everything in between. My 8 and 12 year olds said their favorite parts to staying at Castaway Cove were the cozy bunk beds and fun decorations as well as the great location. The property is right next to the Alsea River and it is amazing to see the tidal impact each day. We thoroughly recommend this wonderful place and can't wait to stay again.

Kellie and Ellie really make an effort to make you feel at home! This wonderfully decorated place had everything we needed for crabbing and beach days which really took the stress out of having to locate or source other items while on our trip. Perfectly situated between Yachats and Newport, our stay in Waldport provided an experience of a lifetime and one we will soon be planning again in the near future.

Great location and a very cute rental

The owners were both so kind and personal. We had so much fun and the decor of the room was an extra treat.Definitely try kayaking, my daughter had a blast. This place is a must stay. I will be recommending it to everyone.

Awesome Family Vacation

Excellent family getaway

I have never had a stay with so many extras. The owners were great and included so many thoughtful extras. It was cold during our stay but the kids were still able to enjoy the kayaks and all the beautiful scenery. We had a large group which was perfect all being able to stay at the same location but still have our own space. I would highly recommend this property.

Great for Grands!

Our two grandsons ages 10 and 8 were so excited about our accommodations. We visited the aquarium in Newport and did local hikes but they couldn't wait to return to our Castaway Cove each day. The boats and crabtraps were a favorite. Thank you for the memorable trip.

Super cute and had everything we needed

The property was as advertised. The hosts were in good communication to make sure we got there safe and wouldn't have issues finding the place. Our kids thought it was the coolest! Beds were super comfy. We had everything we needed and the hosts took the time to make sure we were all set; even though we didn't want for anything else. They also gave recommendations that we were happy we took them up on. Thanks for making our stay pleasant!

EXCELLENT!!

This place is absolutely magical!! The love and attention to detail that Kelly and Ellie have put into this space is phenomenal. There were fresh baked cookies on the table for us when we arrived!! 😍 Literally the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on, and the canopy captain’s bed was absolutely dreamy! The kids loved their bunks, with individual lights, charging stations and even little fans! Many great board games and DVD’s available. I was worried about cooking in the limited kitchen since my husband has food allergies and we can’t eat out, but the hot plates and toaster oven were more than sufficient! And there were other cooking appliances we didn’t take advantage of. All the little helpful instructions posted about the rental are even in pirate’s jargon! And the hosts were available at a moment’s notice when we needed anything! They even provided tide tables, along with a TON of info about things to do in the surrounding area. We look forward to our next visit to Castaway Cove!

Quick Family Getaway

Kelly and Ellie really made our stay amazing. They were so helpful with things to do and places to eat. Their knowledge of the local area and things to do was impressive. The room did not disappoint. The attention to detail to really make it feel like more than just a suite, it was 5 star. Our kids loved the cave theme. The separation of space is wonderful as well, it feels so much bigger than the pictures show. The view of the inlet was gorgeous, we saw several different types of birds. We will be booking again for sure, so we can do some kayaking.

Magical!

Great hosts, probably the best service we've ever encountered, and so clean! This place was immaculate and very well thought out in the decor and styling. Such a fun place for our family to stay during this trip to the Oregon Coast! The place was also stocked with a few breakfast essentials to get us by the first morning after checking in before we made it to the store. There are more than enough cooking appliances to prepare simple meals, probably even a little more complicated that what we chose to do as we wanted to spend our time exploring the many things to do and see on the property as well as nearby. We would definitely stay again next time we're in the area, and I will recommend to all of my friends heading that way as well.

A hidden gem on the Oregon coast.

Our family stayed here for 10 days on our trip to the Oregon coast. We wanted a location that was centrally located so we could use it as a home base for our trips up and down the coast. The location was perfect but more than that the place was perfect. Kelly and Ellie have created an amazing and charming place to stay. Everything, and I mean everything, fits with the Castaway Cove theme they have created. The place is charming, the beds are cozy, the location is perfect. The way they have gone above and beyond is what makes this place extra special - robes for everyone, special face cloths to use for taking off make up, extra lighting in the bathroom for doing your make up, fans and usb ports in the bunks so the teenagers could keep their devices charged and so much more. Kelly and Ellie really are super hosts. They greeted us when we arrived and showed us all around our home away from home as well as the rest of the property. They even offered to help carry in our stuff! They were easy to communicate with and responded promptly if we did have a question. They are warm and welcoming and easy to get along with. We wish we lived closer so we could stay there more often.

Oregon journey

Great little space to spend time with our family of five- kids aren't littles- all taller than me, but they had the space they needed to enjoy themselves. Really enjoyed the big mix of games available to play- we fell in love with Phase 10! Hosts were very gracious and welcoming- welcome cookies was a great touch! I'm an amateur birder, but forgot my binoculars- they immediately lent us two- along with an Oregon bird book! We brought those everywhere and I got quite a lot of life birds! So nice to have access to laundry- and no need for detergent and very quick cycles! Could not recommend these amazing hosts enough! Thank you for a great visit!

Sweet 16 Girls Trip!

We stayed here for my daughters 16th birthday. When I say that it was above and beyond what we could have expected that it putting it lightly! This place was GREAT!!! From the amenities, to the robes and fuzzy socks, FUZZY SOCKS!!!!, to the personal touches such as all our names on a chalk board with the weather report, so many games, cookies, breakfast & snack food, condiments in the fridge, chilled water bottles, and did I mention the fuzzy socks?! We ended up having an extra person and Kelly immediately grabbed extra cookies, a water bottle, an extra robe and a chair for the table. It was truly an amazing experience and made for awesome sweet 16th birthday memories for my daughter. 10 out of 10 WOULD RECCOMEND!!

Amazing themed stay!

Kelly and Ellie were amazing hosts. They have put an outstanding amount of effort into every detail of the room. Absolutely everything including the bathroom sink and down to the kitchen crockery is themed. Even extras like treasure chests on kids beds for their treasures during the stay. Our 6 and 8 year old boys absolutely loved it. We admittedly didn't use too much of all the extra things available to us but they should be mentioned - kayaks, pedal boats, waffle makers, air fryers. Though being able to get some washing done last minute was handy as we had last minute changes to our next destination! Only thing bed was exceedingly soft so not ideal for everyone, but that's personal preference. It feels wonderful to sink into it but the back can feel it next day. Communication great too. So much information beforehand and very flexible to your arrival time but onhand to show you everything. I would absolutely recommend an amazing experience and I hope we get back there on another visit to family in Oregon sometime - thank you so much for all your efforts - it's fantastic!

Family-friendly great place to stay

Stayed 4 nights in Castaway Cove, and was very impressed with the amenities and attention to detail. We were staying with our 2 young kids, and Kelly and Ellie helped every step of the way. They were so helpful in getting items to help manage kids. The included games, movies, and netflix were a huge hit. The kayaks were fun and easy to use. There was laundry on-site, which was definitely useful. Would definitely stay again when we travel to the Oregon Coast.

Fantastic

This place is an absolute find; I feel like I got more than my money's worth. I'm coming back as soon as I can with the whole fam, and I can't wait to show my five-year-old daughter this whimsical little hideaway with every comfort and a stunning attention to detail.
