Snowy Magic at Moose Haven A-Frame
Thank you, Deb, for a wonderful weekend at Moose Haven! The Snow was beautiful (even for native Coloradoans!) and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The kids slept upstairs on the fold-out couch (we brought our down, camping sleeping bags for them). Saturday the sun came out, and our family built snow forts, went snow shoeing, read books, and played cards before settling in for a hearty soup warmed atop the wood-burning stove. The out house situation was surprisingly very nice and clean! We will be back! —Andrea, Jason, & Kiddos

Unhelpful / poor communicating host
Host is very unwilling to help unfortunate travel plans in any sort of way. Chose to pocket money rather than help, even though we hadn’t received any communication in 12 months.

Guest booked and admitted he just forgot to cancel the booking and so took the cabin off our reservation system so no one could book it. Guest received confirmation as everyone does.

Awesome Getaway
This is my second time at the Moose Cabin and there will likely be a third. The atmosphere, privacy and genuine care of the hostess is above and beyond. The views are amazing and the overall atmosphere of the cabin is so homey.

Moose Haven
I had a great second stay at one of the 22West properties, this time at Moose Haven. Accurate listing, easy check in, and a beautiful property. The hiking trails nearby are beautiful and private, fantastic stargazing, and a low key stay. It was quite cold overnight during my stay and the wood burning stove kept the cabin warm and toasty.

Heavenly
Our stay was exceptional! So many beautiful photo ops right outside the cabin and on the Routt national forrest trail at the end of the road. We saw chipmunks, moose, deer and fox! I loved cooking on the fire out side. And the stove onside kept us cozy and warm at night. I love moose haven 💙

The description of this cabin is excellent. It is remote but lovely. Deb and her sons are so quick to respond to needs and really lovely people. It is in such a beautiful spot. We loved being here.

Wonderful retreat
Amazing place to enjoy nature. Feels like you are all on your own with beautiful views and wildlife walking through your front yard. Deb is fantastic and responds immediately to any needs you have. This was our second year going and we will definitely be back again.

Peaceful
The property is wonderful, you have a great view out over north park. There is tons of access to BLM land, state land, and national forest. There are several trails on 22 west’s property that connect to national forest. The only disturbances we had were welcome wildlife disturbances, as we saw moose, deer, foxes, and tons of hummingbirds. It is a very restful retreat to stay at, and being unplugged was a wonderful break from the busyness.

Cute remote getaway
Such a cute remote getaway to take a break from city life. My husband and I took games and books for the cabin. There is cell service if needed. We will definitely be coming back!!

Fantastic cozy cabin
We absolutely loved staying here. Deb and her family are a short distance away (and very helpful if we needed anything) we felt secluded in our own little space. This was exactly what we were looking for, an escape from the craziness of life. The sunsets and sunrises were breath taking and we loved seeing the wild life roam around the cabin. Thanks for letting us bring our dogs they loved playing in the snow.

Cabin with a Beautiful View
This A-Frame cabin had the perfect view of North Park with incredible sunrises and sunsets and wonderful opportunities for star gazing. We watched mule deer walk by every morning and listen to the coyotes at night. The cabin is a wonderful off the grid place to stay, yet with a nice shower a short walk away. Deb met us for check in and provided everything we needed. What a great host.

Moose Haven
We stayed at Moose Haven for our anniversary and it was wonderful! Beautiful, peaceful setting, perfect for getting away for a bit and enjoying the outdoors. The view was amazing, we caught the sunrise one morning! Deb was a wonderful hostess and made sure we had what we needed. Would love to stay again!

Gorgeous private getaway
Beautiful spot with a gorgeous view and area. You are only a short walk from the parking and check-in area, but it feels like you are all alone in the trees. We had an amazing time with our two young girls who were able to wander and explore on their own all while being in a safe spot. We absolutely loved it there and plan to return soon!!

Great views and wildlife sightings,
Our stay here was amazing. The cabin was great. Very private. The wildlife that passed by the front of the cabin was incredible to see. Patrick gave us good suggestions for hiking in the area. Loved our stay at Moose Haven!

Pretty
This little A frame was interesting. Honestly, this wasn’t for everyone. My wife and I enjoyed the views, and being somewhat off the grid, but we are campers, and not unaccustomed to chopping wood, starting a fire in the morning, cooking outside, and hauling your stuff from the car to the cabin a good distance. The bunk bed was a non starter, and ended up putting the Top mattress on the floor. Having said that, Deb and her sons were incredibly helpful, hauling water and wood to the cabin. The shower house was welcome, and the outhouse cute.

A real getaway
Property was rustic and fun. Deb took great care of us. If you're looking to truly get away, this is the place. So quiet we could here dogs bark a mile away. Stars gazing was amazing. So nice to have a place to go to and shut the rest of the world off. But if you need to, there is cell service.

Didn’t want to leave
My wife and I are still here hopefully getting snowed in for another night because we truly don’t want to leave. This place is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a quiet getaway. Deb, Patrick and Eli absolutely will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to have a lasting memory. We can’t say enough about this little gold mind and the family that owns it. We will be coming back time and time again. Thank you our new friends

Absolutely beautiful!!
Exactly what we look for. Very private. Great place to relax and enjoy a natural experience. Deb and her sons are very responsive. They genuinely wanted us to be comfortable. By the way, many generations (I think, six) in this beautiful valley. The wildlife rehab mission is admirable. Highly recommend.

Shep’s Moose Haven Review
It was fine experience. The location is remote and the view from the deck is awesome. There were no surprises but people need to be aware it is like camping with added amenities like propane grill and wood burning stove for heat. It took a while to boil water for that morning cup of tea or coffee. The wash house was great for showers and washing up. You had to use coolers for refrigeration.

Indescribably beautiful view
Deb is amazing first off. Always available to answer questions prior to arriving. The cabin is rustic and warm and inviting. The beauty surrounding it is indescribable. The silence and the peacefulness is hard to find words for. We looked for exactly this the 2 days we were there. Animals lovely animals, deer and her 2 fawns, a young moose, fox babies, wandered by and around frequently. Birds hummingbirds and blue skies was just idealic. This is not just ANY place it is a little peace of heaven. Thank you for a most special unforgettable time.

The perfect escape!
We had a wonderful escape at Deb's cabin! What gem! I cannot recommend this property more. It is comfortable and well equipped. Deb was communicative and available when we needed anything. The setting is stunning and inspiring. We hiked nearby and enjoyed waking up to the sunrise over the valley and many wildlife sightings. The location cannot be beat - just up the road from the national forest trail access and Walden is short drive. We would love to visit again!

Our favorite road trip stop!
We loved our time in Walden! On our first night we saw a moose and her baby, fox, deer, and pronghorn! The view was amazing and the cabin so cozy! We loved talking with Deb. We had an incredible experience and will definitely be back!

Serenity and views to soothe the soul
We arrived at the cabin after dark in a mid-October snowstorm, grateful for the incredible warmth emanating from the wood-burning stove Deb had gotten going for us. The crackling fire through the night kept us toasty (if a bit under-rested) and we awoke to brilliant sunshine and stunning views. The silence and beautiful, expansive surroundings were incredible and we look forward to returning for an even longer respite!

Awesome scenery and host!
The cabin was great, stocked with all the basics you need for grilling/stove cooking and easily slept 5 of us adults. You get the feel like you’re camping without having to buy all the gear and being able to sleep on a mattress which we all appreciated. We were 5 loud guys and still managed not to scare away all the wild life. The deer came out around dusk and weren’t to shy which was fun to watch. Deb the host is very responsive and welcoming. She knows the area very well so suggest using her as a resource for things to do. The Rainbow Lake hike is a must do in the Summer. The trail head is close to the property (maybe a short drive) and although it’s rated “hard” on trail maps, I found it to be more of a moderate hike. Once you get up to the lake it’s absolutely gorgeous. Suggest packing a lunch and spending a few hours up there. Great trip and would definitely book again!
