"From check in to check out the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. In fact, from when you pull into the car park you get the feeling it’s a special place. The building is a beautifully well maintained old building with some rather stunning modern extras. The room we had was spacious and beautifully presented, with a very comfy bed! "On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

"We booked the cottage and were so glad we did. The photos although good, don’t really do it justice. The bedroom opens out onto a spacious balcony with good quality wooden table and chairs. The view is very serene, as you can see the river. The hot tub is really amazing. It was very clean and we were shown how to use it properly. If anything it was a little hot at 40c. It kept this heat for several hours. Bathroom was beautiful. Living room immaculate. And a 2nd bathroom with toilet and shower....

"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

"Room was OK but bathroom a little cramped at sink, plus shower difficult to sort out so the water was not red hot. Nice enough hotel breakfast freshly cooked and good."
