Wheelchair Accessible Ground Floor 2BR/2BA Makani a Kai

  • This is a unique property on Maalaea Bay. Recently upgraded and renovated, it boasts wheelchair accessible features such as a large master bathroom, ADA compliant, including a large roll-in shower. Ground floor accessibility and very close accessible parking stalls make access ideal. No elevators to have to deal with. You can roll right up to the sandy beach!

    If you are not in need of accessible features, this unit is still the perfect getaway. It is in a quiet area of the Makani A Kai condominium with lots of privacy. Adjacent to a wildlife preserve area and 4 miles of uninterrupted sandy beach, there is no other condominium to the south for miles.

    It is also directly adjacent to the best swimming area in Maalaea and a world-renown surf spot. The locals know that this beach is the best kept secret on Maui - away from the high-traffic tourist areas.

    We live and grew up on Maui and our own house is only minutes away! If you have any needs, please feel free to call us!

Convenient location

The location of the property was out of the congestion of the main Maui area, but convient to reach everything else we chose to visit during our stay.

Great choice for family vacation

We had a great experience staying at Jon’s place. It is suitable for family vacation with small kids. Kids love playing in the tropical gardens of the complex and enjoys the swimming pools/playing sands on the beach.

We had the most amazing trip for our first time in Maui. Jon was an excellent host and this spot is fantastic. Walk right to the beach from the property. Located between 2 towns so you have options on activities. Highly recommend staying here if you are a small group and want a fantastic visit.

Lovely and cozy condo with great access to the bay and beautiful pool. Clean and refreshing! Would definitely stay here again. Handicap access was very efficient. Jon was very nice and detail oriented.

Great place for family vacation

Terrific location and beach access. Each room has its own A/C and ceiling fan. Well stocked kitchen. Quiet neighborhood. Friendly owner and facility Manager. Great spot if you like to walk on the beach. You can walk from the complex all the way to Kihei on the beach.

Anniversary/ Graduation trip

Absolutely loved this place! When we arrived it was nice and clean inside, and hidden in the back so it was nice and private. Beach was just a short beautiful walk down the path. The property opens into a gorgeous beach that was perfect for our kids 18, 16, 12 to go play in, and turtles always near the rocks! This was a perfect condo for our family!!

Beachfront getaway in Maalaea

We had a wonderful stay at Jon’s place. The location was perfect as it was just a few steps from the beach, which during our stay was very private. We are a family of five with young children and were very comfortable. The unit came with everything we needed i.e. linens, towels, beach chairs and a well stocked kitchen (pots/pans/utensils etc). We look forward to a return visit!

Check in was simple. Directions given to arrive and check in were clear and easy to follow. The condo is lovely and clean. The location is good. The beach is really beautiful. Jon was quick to answer any questions we had. It was a great place to relax and enjoy. Thank you .

Spacious Condo on Great Beach

The condo is clean and well equipped. When we needed tools for the grill, they were delivered the next day. Having a five mile beach just steps away is always a plus.

Beautiful Wedding Weekend

Makani a kai was the perfect home base for our 6 day stay in Maui. Easily found, check in was a breeze. Very comfortable 2 bedroom, clean and on a lovely quiet beach . The few issues were quickly resolved by the next door manager. Than you, Jon. We would highly recommend your lovely condo.

Owner Jon Toda was very accommodating for early check in and late check out, because of our flight schedule.We enjoyed the quite atmosphere and beautiful landscaped grounds located next to a beautiful beach area.The only complaint was we couldnt make use of the on site laundry as it didn’t accept $ and used a app that required payment with a credit card and the app only accepted American issued credit cards,Which was a little surprising as many Canadian and other foreign citizens visit Maui on a regular basis. Overall I would stay here again.

It’s an easy walk or quick drive to a couple of great coffee shops and even an aquarium just around the corner.The apartment itself was spotless and well maintained. With the pull-out mattress, all four of us slept comfortably. There was plenty of dishware and cleaning supplies available, which made things so convenient.We also really appreciated the clear instructions provided throughout our stay — we never had to wonder what we needed to do. Overall, a great experience!

We would Book it AGain

Great location, last Condos on dead end road. Near Maui Aquarium, easy drive anywhere. Right on ocean, salt water pool. On site managers amazing, we loved the crowing roosters! If you go where they live, expect and enjoy it. Easy parking lot, grounds always clean and mowed, just planted more foliage
