  • Charming Ma’alaea Banyans 202 is a fully equipped condominium located in a serene resort with 180-degree ocean views. The bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed while the living room has a sofa sleeper, making it an ideal accommodation for up to four guests. Whether you are in the mood to whip up a quick snack or a full-course meal, the full kitchen has everything you need to bring out your culinary skills. The lanai offers sweeping views of the ocean and is the perfect spot to enjoy your meals. Cleanliness is paramount, and the in-unit washer and dryer ensure that you are always fresh and ready to go.

    Cooling off from the tropical heat is a breeze with the ceiling fans and living room air conditioning, and guests can stay entertained with the flat-screen TV, complimentary cable, high-speed internet, and free Wi-Fi. The resort is a tempting option, with its tropical grounds, pool, spa, and BBQ/picnic area offering plenty of opportunities for relaxation. Take in the mesmerizing views of the sunrise, sunset, and moonlight over the bay, the neighboring islands, the Kihei coastline, or Mount Haleakala. During the winter months (November-April), watch as the majestic humpback whales return to these protected waters to birth their calves.

    Exploring on foot is an excellent option for those who plan to spend a day, or more, at the resort. Ma’alaea Harbor, just a short walk away, has a bustling harbor offering exciting excursions, whale-watching tours, snorkeling trips, and sunset sails. The harbor is also home to various shops, restaurants, the Maui Aquarium, and a family-fun center with mini-golf and more. To the east lies Sugar Beach, a couple of miles of sandy serenity leading to North Kihei, where you can find some delicious eats and treats. Ma’alaea is located at the base of the isthmus that divides east and west Maui, providing easy access to various Maui attractions with low commute times (15 to 40 minutes) to Kihei, Wailea, Makena, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahului, Paia, and Makawao. Haleakala Summit and Hana are further, but well worth the drive. Whether you choose to stay local or venture forth, it's a win-win situation! With free parking, one vehicle per unit, parking is also not a problem.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was exactly what I expected it to be - it is not a luxury apartment and it is very basic. It was clean and functional and just what I wanted for a quick few days with my daughter. Cost is reflective of the place. If you are looking for a fancy or updated environment and plan to spend a lot of time inside this is not the place. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to park your belongings and adventure it is perfect. It was clean and well located.

Nice view and resort convenient to area sites. The host did have a new toaster delivered when the one in the condo would not work. No response to our finding a drawer with A pan with old vegetables that had molded throughout the drawer.The condo itself has been poorly maintained. The furniture and bedding were worn out and uncomfortable. There were outlets and light switches that did not work. Carpet was old and had been partially covered with a thin area rug. The toilet also ran most of the time and the unit could use a more thorough cleaning.

We have stayed at this condo complex over 20 times, location is the best. No better view than at the banyans. Price was reasonable for the location.

Absolutely amazing

I have stayed at so many vrobs and this by far is one of the best. Thank you so much for letting us to your home to enjoy this spectacular view ❤️ Everything we needed was here including the much used beach chairs . It was so cool to see the turtles on the little beach out front as well .

Cyclists and wonderfully central. Very quiet and so close to the water. Spent most of the time on the balcony when at home. Well supplied kitchen.

Nice place!

This condo is right along the ocean, so the view is wonderful. There is a small lanai with a table we sat at and had breakfast and at night I would leave the window open to listen to the waves. It is an easy 15 minute drive to Kihei. the carpets could use a cleaning, but everything else was clean and also a safe area with pleasant people to say hello to. We would stay here again.

Amazing views!

We have stayed at Maalaea Banyans since 1990 in many of the condos. The views are outstanding, we love the location and walking on sugar beach. Unit 202 could use some updating, even just comfortable furniture would be great. The floors need a good scrubbing but over all the unit worked for our basic needs.

There's a small beach area where the turtles like to sunbathe. The condo itself was as advertised. The king size bed was comfortable. Very much appreciated the beach chairs and coolers - we used them every day. Easy walk to the Maui Ocean Center and shops/restaurants. Only 8 minute drive to the point to watch the sunset. We rented a kayak for a day and enjoyed being on the water. The air conditioning in the condo works well for the living area but even with fans, it doesn't reach the bedroom very well.

Peaceful

The room was clean and well stocked with most everything you need except spices. Normally the places we have stayed in has at least salt and pepper, some a cornucopia of of the previous quest spices. The balcony view was beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful as well. Unless you are on the first floor there is no access to them from 10pm to 7:30 am. Being a morning person that was disappointing. This was the first out of 3 condos on this street that was the case. It does have a washer and dryer but no laundry soap, so if you intend to use it bring it with you. Air-conditioning is there if you need it, we live off grid and shut it off. The breeze is more the enough. We enjoyed our stay here.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were 4 adults, looking forward to enjoy the room and the island, we arrived with our groceries ready to get some food but found the table only has 3 chairs. We also realized afterwards, the kitchen bar counter but has no chairs to eat at either, plus was extremely high. We had issues with the TV which was resolved but was a bit disappointing due to bad weather news we needed to know about, since there was flooding occurring and road closures. The furniture was well worn and really should be replaced. The worst was shower did not drip, but actually ran. It felt like water torture while trying to sleep at night, even with the door closed to the bathroom.The manager, did note the issue but due to the building plumbing, the entire place had to have water turned off to fix the problem. With the drought issues in Maui, I had thought that fixing the running water would have been a priority. We ended up leaving a day early since the room was so depressing. But the view was one of the best from the lanai, that is the only saving grace of this place. The manager, Rosemary did respond quickly to our issues so that helped somewhat.

It was also away from the crowds, so you had plenty of privacy. The sea turtles would come ashore daily just outside the condo. There was also a nice beach with a short 5-minute walk. It was a very pleasant experience.
