The Space:
Golden Valley Retreat by Tiny Away is located in the peaceful town of Waihi, just an hour's drive from Hamilton. Tucked away in a private section surrounded by native plants and trees, the soothing trickle of a nearby stream adds to its serene charm.

Explore nearby exciting attractions such as the picturesque Owharoa Falls, stunning bushwalks in Karangahake Gorge, and scenic cycling along the Hauraki Rail Trail. Nearby towns include Te Aroha, just a 34-minute drive away, and Paeroa, only 29 minutes away.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with Breakfast and Boutique Doggy Daycare facilities included. Easy water access, sourced from a spring and filtered for purity. We are proud to provide you with pure spring water straight from the source. A water jug is provided for extra filtration and drinking.

The accommodation features split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to advise guests that cabin space is limited, so we recommend packing light to ensure a more comfortable stay.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny home and are welcome to explore the acre of land. Please refrain from accessing the private home located behind the fence. You are also invited to stroll along the driveway and up the road, which is closed to vehicles.

Pre-orders

- Free doggy daycare’ facilities is available
- Firewood for the pit is available for $15 per night.
- You will be provided a complimentary breakfast consisting of cereal, free range eggs (in the coupe), vogals toast, juice, milk, butter and spreads. Coffee and a range of teas are also provided. Breakfast is provided for the first morning only and is subject to change based on product availability.
- We are excited to offer a new addition to the amenities—a mini air fryer, perfect for quick and easy meals during your stay!
- If you plan to bring pets, please notify the host in advance so they can make the necessary arrangements.

Golden Valley Retreat by Tiny Away is peacefully located in Waihi, a mere hour's drive from Hamilton. Hamilton, nestled in the heart of the Waikato region, features lush parks, the picturesque Waikato River, and a vibrant arts and culinary scene, known for its inclusive atmosphere and diverse community.

Te Aroha is known for its hot springs and historic architecture, offering a mix of relaxation and outdoor adventure. Nearby Paeroa provides a small-town charm with heritage buildings, scenic reserves, and easy access to the Karangahake Gorge. Within the gorge, visitors can explore bush walks like the Windows Walk or stop at Owharoa Falls, a tranquil spot perfect for nature lovers and photographers. The Hauraki Rail Trail also winds through the Hauraki Plains and Karangahake Gorge, showcasing old railway routes, charming towns, and stunning landscapes.

- WiFi: Although the service is limited, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity for a getaway. There’s no WiFi in the cabin, but you can access it up by the house. A seat is available there, and the password will be provided upon your arrival.
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.
- Farm guidelines will be provided before your booking is confirmed. Kindly read through them and follow all instructions during your visit

Guest Advisory

- No smoking is allowed inside, except outdoors. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly
- Please advise that we use an eco-friendly cassette toilet, and instructions for its easy use are posted on the wall.
- Recycling bins are provided to dispose of rubbish properly. All food scraps must go in the compost bin provided so we may dispose of them accordingly.

Important note:

- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the compost toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
