Very lovely house, with warm interior décor, lots of places to sit, relax and beautiful landscaping that keep it from feeling like a rental. The proximity to the Volcano Nat'l Park was terrific, and we enjoyed the huge screen TV in the living room to recap our days' adventures by casting our pictures in a "slide show". Note that one of the bedrooms is noisy with a motor (already noted in other reviews) and the bed isn't great.
The house manager brought over a blender (a must-have in the tropics, IMHO) as requested, and tried valiantly to scrub the hot tub clean for the first couple of days (and draining and refilling 2x) after previous guests had used greasy sunscreen, so we didn't use it as much as we might. There remained a slight oily sheen to the tub, but that didn't stop us once it heated up (see: blender). She also recommended a pop-up fish monger near Hilo to buy fresh-caught fish - delish!
Advice to future visitors:
This house was stocked with a limited supply of paper products, and as six of us who stayed four nights, we quickly ran through the one roll of paper towels. So make sure to buy some, as well as paper napkins, once you land in Hilo/Kona.
Also, despite the laundry "access", we weren't given laundry soap, so pack a few pods or buy a small bottle. I wish this was clarified in the Amenities listing.
Overall, a lovely place in a quiet neighborhood. I loved the rainforest feel!
