Fantastic

We had 3 nights here and it was great. Very close to the beach (easy walk). The owner Ian was great, and couldn't be more helpful. Unfortunately the internet wasn't working, but this was not the owner's fault. Otherwise our stay was perfect and in a great location if you want to see the whole island.

Fantastic views

We really enjoyed our short Easter stay at Ocean View, the name says it all the place had a gorgeous view of the Vivionne Bay, which we loved. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay, so it was almost like cooking at hm. Hosts were communicative and I particularly like their tips about the remoteness and being prepared. We had planned to eat one night at the General store, but had not realised it was not open at night. We all loved the Tamar Wallabies that visited am and pm and they were a highlight. We were warned by the host that phone receptions would not be good, and the internet was out during our stay so it was a great opportunity to disconnect!

The property internet was poor due to the provider. Vivonne Bay is remote but house had everything and the wildlife was awesome. The property owner was excellent re his communication at all times. Thank you Ian

Wallabies and More!

Highly recommend Ocean View at Vivonne Bay! The name says it all -- it definitely has the best view in town. The accommodations were perfect for my husband, adult daughter and I. This was our first visit to Kangaroo Island and we found Vivonne Bay to be a great location to explore the island from. Highlights were feeding the wallabies carrots every evening and watching them from the deck and the gorgeous sunrises over the bay.

A beautiful, restful spot surrounded by nature

We had a lovely stay. Enjoyed Vivonne beath, Southern Lights viewed from the deck, abundant bird life and a wonderful view. Highly recommend for a relaxing break!

Great time and Place to Stay!

Review

The property was very comfortably and the location was fabulous ,overlooking the bay. All in all our stay was wonderful, but we had reason to have dealings with the owner. He proved to be very difficult to deal with.

Superb beach/bush stay

We had 10 days at Vivonne which allowed us to enjoy many of the amazing vistas and places on KI within a reasonable driving distance. An additional bonus staying at this place was the great variety of bird life we saw, it was a a real treat.

Immersed in nature--fantastic vistas and wildlife

If you enjoy nature and wildlife: this is it! My daughter (20) and I spent three nights here in February. Ian provided helpful area information in advance. The BEST (in addition to the ocean view and walks on the beach) was the wildlife: various types of birds splashing in the plate of water on the deck and a "mob" of Tammar Wallabies who greeted us each morning and evening. Precious.

False advertising/statement regarding facilities

We paid the full Non refundable cost only to be advised by the owner that there is NO Spa Whirlpool or Hot tub as advertised. He also added sarcastically that there was no Gymnasium!! That the main reason we booked this property. There was not even a Bath in the Shower room/Laundry. Hot water tap in Shower was faulty and not fixed. No Shampoo provided, no additional rubbish bags, mattress uncomfortable, old uncomfortable Lounge chairs, old damaged rug, mouldy outdoor setting, only 3 beach towels for 4 people, no books to read.

Great views of the Southern Ocean across Vivonne Bay

An excellent base to explore Kangaroo Island the National Parks, walking trails, the wildlife and pristine beaches, wineries and cafes. It can be windy, but snug inside and great views over the protected native scrub reserve and out onto the bay.

Perfect home in great location

Our family of four had the most amazing stay. The home is designed well for guests to enjoy the outlook and seaview from both the balcony and the lounge/ living area. We thoroughly enjoyed the visiting wildlife and the location is so peaceful. This beach house is well thought out and has everything you need. Perfect location for visiting the Island highlights such as Remarkable Rocks, Seal Conversation area and Admirals Arch. So good that we already are planning another visit.

Oceanview was amazing!

Our family of four loved our stay at Oceanview. It was probably the best located house to stay in at Vivonne Bay with the beach just a walk down the steps and the jetty a short drive away. The communication with Ian and Ann was fantastic and they responded to messages promptly. The house was clean and exactly as described. We would definitely stay there again!
