tolle Unterkunft!

tolle Unterkunft, nette Gastgeberin, gute Lage, viel Platz und sehr gut ausgestattete Unterkunft. Einziges Manko: Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurden in Rechnung gestellt, was für uns aus dem Inserat so nicht hervorging.

Superbe endroit, très adapté pour les enfants (plein de jeux, zone piscine séparée et donc sécurisée). Végétation flamboyante. Les conseils des propriétaires nous ont été très utiles pour trouver de parfaits restaurants et certaines activités.

Nice property with the basics

The garden is lovely and there are out door games like table tennis and bocce ball. The FarmHouse was clean but bare and basic for the most part. We had to remove spider webs from corners in the bedrooms and bathrooms when we arrived. It seems that a basic walk through before a guest arrives would be in order. No warmth add anywhere in decor, but could easily be added with little money. Some nicer kitchen towels, bathroom towels and maybe a few rugs so that the house didn't feel so bare and hollow would be nice. The wifi was good and that is VERY important to us with 4 teenagers and staying in contact with the office. Disappointing that the day before we were to check in I received an email asking if we would be needing sheets and towels and that there would be an extra charge for these. I expressed my disappointment and wasn't charged. The sheets and towels we did receive were again VERY basic and well used. Jeni the owner was friendly and offered advice for the area. We were in the area to visit friends. I would recommend this house.

Maison idéale pour un séjour en famille. Un aménagement fonctionnel et complet, un vaste espace de jardin avec sa piscine et ses jeux pour enfants, voilà de quoi passer quelques jours au calme et dans un confort appréciable. Le lieu est idéalement placé, proche des commerces, des plages et de la ville. L’accueil de Jeni et Jean-Pierre est chaleureux et amical, et donne envie de revenir. Un site a essayer sans réserve.

Rustic charm within minutes of the coastal resorts

We rented The Pumphouse for a week and cannot wait to return. The friendliness of our hosts was wonderful although they were discreet and totally unobtrusive. The house was everything we expected and more with comfortable furnishings, plenty of area for enjoying the sun and a extremely well equipped kitchen. It is impossible not to fall in love with Casper the cat who adds to the charm and congenial atmosphere of this riverside retreat...and only a ten minute drive from one of the best beaches on this lovely stretch of Mediterranean coast!

Absolutely Amazing!

I would definitely recommend staying here to everyone. The accommodation was impeccably cleaned and the owners were wonderful. The pool was a major plus point and the sunlit poolside area with sun loungers was lovely. It was easy to spend a day relaxing there with a book. Equally good was the location as Canet beach is a short cycle ride away and Perpignan was great for shopping and restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay in the Pumphouse. The location is excellent - midway between Perpignan and the Mediterranean. The facilities are excellent, and our hosts, Jeni and JP were likewise excellent. So my overall rating would simply be : excellent!

NY in the Pumphouse

Greatly enjoyed our stay in Chez Pumphouse during the New Year. Despite the cold Northerly winds the Air-Con coped admirably.Superb hospitality and cusine from our Hosts. Complete with bike rides and walks to the coast. There was lost to do with Castles, Vineyards, and pretty village squares for lunch. Must return again in the summer, to try out the Pool.

Wonderful!

A lovely traditional French property in a great location. The Pumphouse was perfect for our 2 week stay with our 2 year old son. The pool on site was just right for us when we chose to stay at home; the beaches nearby are all excellent with miles of sand & calm, clear water. Jeni & JP went out of their way to make us welcome & provided lots of little extras to amuse our son. In addition Jeni's cooking was exceptional & really added a special touch to our holiday. We will certainly be back & I would recommend The Pumphouse to friends!

Excellent property, great hosts

We were immediately impressed with the size, equipment and cleanliness of the gite, grounds and swimming pool, and also the friendly and helpful welcome from the English speaking hosts. We have enjoyed stays in France for almost 15 years, but this stood out. The younger generation immediately suggested we could return next year! The area offers a wide range of activities, the coast being very close indeed, as well as tourist sites and picturesque scenery. Canet en Rousillon is around 15 minutes drive, with a vibrant sea front area including evening market and many restaurants. Recommend jet skiing (we went from St Cyprienne), snorkelling (a dedicated trail located between Banyuls – Cerber) and the vast fort at Salses. We were provided with a lot of leaflets and suggestions, and with free wifi one can easily look on line. After having left, our hosts were more than kind when we then returned for connectivity while travel arrangements were sorted out following a late car breakdown. Could not recommend this more highly.

A large, well equipped villa near to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pumphouse and found the description really accurate. There was plenty of room for all the family(6 adults and a baby)and we spent many happy hours around the lovely pool and as the other villa was unoccupied it was never crowded. The villa was clean but we felt the patio area outside the villa needed a little TLC. The nearby village was close enough for a pleasant walk in the morning to get delicious bread ect. Jenni, the owner was very friendly and helpful and provided lots of useful information about the area. The nearest beach was only a few minutes by car from the villa and as it was June was never crowded. The area has many attractions and we enjoyed wine tasting and fine dining whilst on our visit. I would recommend this property as it was quiet, far enough away local resorts, but near enough for a visit when you wanted. The sea was gentle enough for bathing and there was lots of free parking.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous!

You MUST book the Pump house for your stay near Perpignan. You will want for nothing as you stay in a place more like home than home, but with the added advantage of fabulous weather, fabulous surroundings and fabulous hosts. The pool is to die for and there is so much to do in the surrounding area. The pump house has everything you need and more, is clean, well maintained and very spacious. The outdoor eating area is a sun trap and a great place for leisurely meals including the local wine. I cannot rate this place highly enough - hence we will be back next year for the 10th year running! Book it and then write your own fabulous review

Charming French house

My family of 2 adults and 3 children stayed at this charming french house in early June this year (2013). I had great assistance from the owner Jeni in making this booking from the very start and helping me get the best dates and price etc. On arrival (via very helpful directions provided by then), Jeni and JP greeted us immediately with assitance with our bags and cases. The house had everything that we needed for the holiday - picnic basket, beach gear, etc. There was loads for the kids to do inside and outside so no matter what the weather is ,there is no risk of them getting bored, which leaves lots of chillout time for us adults. The area itself is really lovely and a great base to explore many areas around the south of france, Stopping at the spain border before we arrived was a great plus due to the low cost of food and Wine! Several beaches within 10mins and a great family one with a very low depth to the water for miles out so very safe for the young ones. June was a lovely quiet time with enough but not too many tourists around. the only thing to note was the water park that we had looked up before arriving didnt open until mid June so we missed it and kids were a bit dissapointed. All in all it was a great holiday and I would recommend the area and this particular french mas to any family or indeed anyone., Fiona, ireland

The Pumphouse was everything we expected.....

Layout of the Pumphouse was perfect for our Australian family and facilities were excellent for our 5 year old grandchild. Beach and villages only minutes away. Jenni and JP were wonderful hosts and recommended some great places for day trips. Our hosts were excellent in the planning stages of our stay.

Lovely, charming catalan house in the country

We, 2 adults and 3 youngsters aged 17-27, really loved this charming house. The young people enjoyed the swimmingpool and playing tabletennis, of course also used by us. We especially loved the original charming house with the many different kinds of flowers and plants, to eat lunch/dinner in the shadow in the garden and relax in the quite of the countryside. Although the pool and pool area was shared, the properties gave good possibilities for privacy. The situation of the property was excellent to make excursions to the sea/beaches and nice towns by the Mediterranean, as well as to visit lovely picturesque old towns in the mountains or visit the wine domains nearby. We saw a lot but still there are many sights remained to be visited. We also found some really nice restaurants close by, Vigatane at Canet Village, Mar i Buda by the marina at Canet Plage and on our favourite beach at Sainte Marie de la Mer the ideal place for a lunch or drink named Peht'y Mar. The only disappointment on our vacation was our visit to Perpignan. We might have had bad luck, but when we were there around 8 pm we saw a number of persons who (to put it mildly) did not look very reliable. On top of our great stay, the owners were very friendly and hospitable, which makes all of us very keen on returning. We will give the property the best recommendation to all our friends and relatives.

Thoroughly recommended

An ideal spot for a relaxing holiday. Why? Near to the beach but away from the bussle. Secluded villa with clean and safe pool. Our hostess (English and French husband) was perfect which set the atmosphere for the week. Near a local village for breakfast croissants or evening pizzas. Air con. if the nights (or afternoons) are too hot. Useful, as we had a 6 month old baby aswell as a 2 year old. Patio for bbq's. We had a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Great house in superb location

The house is well equipped, comfortable and spacious and exactly as shown in the pictures/description. Air conditioning was an added bonus. The pool area is great for both swimming and sunbathing. The location is ideal, being rural but close to beaches, city, airport and all amenities. Choice of places for visiting beaches is great, from little coves, to family orientated resorts and quieter towns. Perpignan is a lovely city and there is no shortage of places to eat close by. Jeni and JP are discreet hosts who are very helpful and incredibly hospitable. Would recommend for a relaxing, family, beach/pool holiday in the sun.

The Pretty, Perfect Pumphouse

This was definitely one of our better family holidays and I only wish we could have stayed longer. We were a party of 9, two families with 3 & 2 children and loved every minute of our stay in The Pumphouse. Jeni & Jean Pierre made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It was the perfect place to relax in with every mod con, very comfortable beds, lots of facilities on site such as table tennis, volleyball, footballs and of course the main event, the swimming pool. This was larger than most pools would be in a private villa and had a diving board at the deep end where our 10 year olds learned to perfect their technique. The local beaches were a short drive away and lovely and sandy. We also managed to fit in a day trip to the water park in St Cyprien, a night out in Perpignan and our personal favourite, a visit to the Domaine Treloar vinyards with a delicious lunch and wine tasting at the end of the tour. I would recommend this property for families or couples. We flew from Dublin to Girona which is approximately one and a half hours drive away. On the way home we spent our last day in Girona which was well worth the visit. A car is very necessary for this kind of holiday. Enjoy!

Schöne Ferien mit der ganzen Familie

Wir haben im Sommer 2009 eine sehr schöne Woche im umgebauten Pumpenhaus der ehemaligen Farm verbracht. Das Haus bot mit seinen 4 Schlafräumen genug Platz für die Eltern und mit fünf jugendlichen Kindern, die sich mehrmals am Tag im Pool austoben konnten. Die Ausstattung der Küche etc. ließ keine Wünsche offen. Am Pool standen Luftmatratzen und Sonnenschirme (gut für den Strand) zur Verfügung. Das Grundstück der Farm liegt neben einem kleinen Fluß und so konnte man dank der Schatten spendenden Vegetation immer ein angenehmes Plätzchen zum Sitzen und Lesen finden. Der nahe gelegene kleine Ort Villelongue de la Salanque ist vom Tourismus noch unberührt, bietet aber Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Bäckerei, zwei kleine Lebensmittelgeschäfte,Pizzeria). Verschiedene Strände lassen sich gut mit dem Auto erreichen. Die Vermieter- das Ehepaar Bechara- leben auf der Farm und sind ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit.

Catalan Farmhouse perfect for the sun, sea and ski

we have just returned from a family holiday staying at the pumphouse.The location is perfect - really close to everything from the gorgeous beaches to the mountains. The owners are a wealth of really useful, insightful info and are willing to get involved with the nitty gritty of your stay from recommending and booking restaurants to driving you to the doctors! They really are fantastic people - it was like being neighbours with the local tourist office/ your mum and good friends as not only are they helpful, caring but very good company. The accommodation is rustic,simple and comfortable. It provided a very safe haven from the boiling hot midday sun with air conditioning that actually worked. The pool is lovely, the properties easy to find and all the local amenities close to hand.

A relaxed farmhouse with friendly owners nearby...

Only about 30 mins from Perpignan airport this Catalan Farmhouse is nicely tucked away off the road 5 minutes from the village of Villelongue de la Salanque. My family took over the farmhouse & the pumphouse & so therefore had free range of the outdoor seating & swimming pool. A delicious dinner prepared by Jeni (owner & good fun) on our first night was just perfect while we acclimatised ourselves & the kids. A welcome supply of milk, butter, baguettes, tea & coffee was a very nice touch too. Both properties were clean & well prepared. Anything extra we needed was cheerily delivered. I would thoroughly recommend a family to take over both properties if you can. Grannies & Grandads in one property, noisy children & parents in another. Nearby activities were a trip to Perpignan, a lovely day out at the Domaine Treloar vinyard, Canet Plage (the beach) - 10 mins away. We even ventured down to Barcelona for a night (2.5 hours away). The local boulangerie was open daily for fresh croissants & there is a large supermarket nearby too. Local restaurants are child friendly. The swimming pool has the standard locked gate, so there was added peace of mind with young children wandering around. There was also a playground area for them to amuse themselves. I would definitely recommend this place to a large family or a large group of friends & hope to be back at some point soon. NB - you will definitely need a hire car.
