    Welcome to a Glowing View, a spacious and inviting mountain retreat nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With beautiful kitchen finishes and rustic hardwood throughout, this home shines as soon as you walk through the door. Most bedrooms have personal bathroom suites, and the outdoor area features a wrap-around porch, perfect for watching the sunset.

    A Glowing View is close to downtown Boone and has access to skiing, shops, golf, and other local attractions. Enjoy mountain living in complete comfort and style. Please note: a maximum of 5 cars is allowed at this home at any time. The home is in a quiet noise restricted neighborhood. Cameras above the garage face the driveway, and a Ring camera is at the front door. Thank you!

Great House

A group of friends and their families rented A Glowing View for a ski trip and had a wonderful visit. The house was layed out perfectly for our group with every family having their own bedroom, closet and bathroom. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs playing pool and board games. The hot tub, wood fireplace and fire pit was a great touch! The home is also nicely located between Banner Elk and Boone so we could ski and explore multiple mountains during our stay. The only negative comment was that when we arrived late Friday evening the house did not have towels so we couldn’t bath before bed. We messaged the manager and our towels were promptly delivered the next morning. Thank you for a weekend filled with memories. We will be back!

Mountain Paradise

Our experience in this incredibly spacious home was wonderful. Three couples had plenty of privacy and great space inside and out. The wrap around porch provided fantastic views and shade all day.

A very nice house. Rental company has some issues.

A Glowing View is a very nice property. The owners obviously want guests to have all they need, as the house has everything provided that you could want or need. The view is beautiful, and the house is cozy and comfortable, with excellent bedding, comfortable seating, abundant kitchen supplies, etc. However, the rental company consistently does not have enough staff to answer phones promptly, does not have or provide emergency access numbers in case you need them, did not provide us the correct access code to get in the property, has times the phones are not covered at all during business hours, and the management was defensive when we had to travel from the rental home to their office to get someone to respond to our inability to get into the house, since no one was answering the phones. Once they discovered we were having problems, several people did contact us to make things right, and we were given a refund of the fee we paid for early check-in. That said, though, if we had not decided to pay for early check in, and had discovered our inability to get in the house possibly after 5 pm, it may have been difficult to get all the issues resolved. They did rectify the problems, but need to address having more staff available for the portion of their real estate agency that handles rentals.

Beautiful Home

This house was so beautiful and had amazing views of the mountains! It was so spacious and had everything we needed! We had a great relaxing getaway weekend with family! We would love to visit again!

Golden View Comments

This house sits on a beautiful piece of property and features large, well-appointed rooms with great closet space and and functional layouts. The master suite is especially nice with a terrific view of the mountains and a beautiful bathroom design. However, there are a few issues that I see that you wouldn't expect in a rental in this price range. The biggest issue is the lack of storage space in the kitchen area. Most of the cabinets are locked for the owners belongings which understand but makes it inconvenient for the renters. There's not enough space for organizing food, paper products, etc. The only saving grace was the large sub-zero refrigerator which was terrific. The massive fireplace in the den is awesome Probably the other biggest concerns are the cleanliness and maintenance of some of the house and it's amenities. A couple of examples were the age of the carpet in the hallway upstairs, the need for painting or cleaning the door entering the laundry room. The blind over the kitchen sink doesn't work properly and won't grip to hold itself up so you can enjoy the best view in the house while working in the kitchen.The condition of the hot tub cover is another issue where the hooks that are suppose to hold the cover down are both routed out. One of the doors in the master bedroom is rotten at the bottom and could lead to expensive repairs in the future. Again, the home itself is beautiful and it's clear the owners have good tastes but it's age is showing in some of the areas that haven't been updated. For these reasons I wouldn't rent the property again as we have had better experiences in other locations in this price range. Lastly, I'm not trying to be unkind here. I would love to own a home like this one and if II would hope my renters would give me honest feedback to help bring good renters who respect and take care of my property back for another stay. Marvelous Mountain Retreat

House was amazing! Long weekend enjoyed by all! House was very well equipped and had tons of space. A huge plus was that each bedroom had its own bath! Close to Boone and Blowing Rock! Definitely will be coming back for future yearly family mountain getaway!

The Glowing view exceeded our expectations with amenities and accommodations . The view at the property was just perfect. The only complaint was the oven on the left side of the stove did not work. But it didn't stop my guest from cooking and having a good time. This property was an amazing stay.

Wonderful mountain escape

We were wanting a nice place in the cool mountains with a beautiful view where our family could gather to celebrate a milestone birthday and this place delivered big time! The house is beautiful and was very clean. It is very open and spacious with 4 king bedrooms each with its own bath. The kitchen was well stocked which was important as we were doing our own cooking & not going out during the pandemic. It was so quiet & peaceful. We could not have picked a better place.

Really A Glowing View!

We had a great vacation. We really loved the home. Nothing I would change about except: Make sure cleaning crew dust all rooms. Our beds were definitely suspect of being clean (basement). It seems to have been made up by a child. Please note there appears to be a leak in the main floor sitting area and the handle on the basement exterior door is broken and was replaced but kept falling off. We certainly would use his cabin/home again and will always remember our stay.

Wonderful Vacation!

This house was Amazing! Everything was perfect. Our family of 7 had a wonderful time and no one wanted to leave when it was time to check out! The views were stunning!! The house had everything we needed for a great vacation. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, JUST PERFECT! We will definitely be coming back!

New Year's Eve Vacay

It was really a perfect home for our large family, very clean and comfortable! Love the kitchen and fridge! Only drawbacks for us were that the dryer was broken so we could not do laundry and it was pretty noisy in the upstairs master suite during wind gusts. Also, we were missing linens for the pull out beds downstairs.

A Glowing View is a beautiful home in a great location. Tons of space and the 3 king master suites were perfect for our large family. We loved the layout of the house and the pool table in the basement was a big hit! I rent a house in the Boone area a few times a year. This would be my favorite if the hot tub worked - only a couple of jets worked and they were not very powerful. That's a big disappointment for my gang. The owner should repair it or remove it and not advertise a hot tub that hardly works. The other issue I had was with the basement fireplace. We opened the damper as directed, but all the smoke came back into the room. I'm not convinced that this fireplace is made for a wood fire. It seems like it is made for gas logs. Overall, I really liked the house but it needs attention. The gas range could use a good cleaning. Carolina Cabin Rentals was very easy to work with and they answered all of my questions. I would definitely rent from them again. Please let me know if you fix the hot tub as I will move this house to the top of my list of rental houses in the Boone area.

We had a wonderful stay at A Glowing View. The house was perfect for our two families. Plenty of space for everyone. The three master suites were just what we needed. The location was close to Boone and easy to find. Loved the open kitchen and living room area with all the windows to enjoy the view. The pool table was a big hit! Our only complaints are the hot tub and the downstairs fireplace. The hot tub is pretty useless. Only a few jets work and the pressure is not good. This was disappointing as we are big fans of hot tubs. We tried to start a fire in the basement fireplace. We opened the damper as instructed. The smoke would not go up the chimney and filled the basement so we quickly put the fire out. Not sure that fireplace is made for wood burning. It looks like it was built for a gas log insert. After that experience, we were afraid to build a fire upstairs. The owner may want to check into that as I believe I read another review that stated the same problem. We tried to turn on the ceiling fan in the basement to clear the air but it does not work. The dishwasher does not work very well at all. Carolina Cabin Rentals were very easy to work with so no complaints there. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider renting it again. If the hot tub had been working properly, it would be at the top of our list for rental houses in the Boone area. We rent in the area a few times a year. It really is a beautiful home but could use a little maintenance. Thanks for sharing it with us.

A Glowing View Review

This was our 5th year staying at A Glowing View during the month of November. We are a group female high school friends (graduated in 1970) who hold a reunion every year and the property offers all the features we were wanting in a rental house. We appreciate the huge kitchen and refrigerator as it offers enough room for all of us to gather and cook. Thank you for the excellent array of kitchen equipment. The living area offers enough space for the 6 of us to sit comfortably and talk which we do constantly during our stay. We enjoy the large screen TV if we want to watch a movie and appreciate the addition of a sound bar. The Christmas tree in the corner and loft area put us in a holiday mood.. The dining and living room areas are nicely decorated for fall. Since there are usually 6 or 7 in our group we thoroughly enjoy having king size beds in the bedrooms along with a private bath for each bedroom and a powder room on the main floor. The house is lovely and we appreciate the owners having it available for rental. So- When we first dealt with Carolina Cabins we were told numerous times that the property was inspected the day of the rental to make sure everything was set to go and until the inspection occurred we would not be able to enter the property - which is understandable. I do not know when this inspection happened but want to inform you of some things that were overlooked.. The kitchen offered one dish towel and no dishcloth. The oven was extremely greasy and dirty. The refrigerator appears to have mold on some of the shelves beneath the glass. Third floor bedroom had two hand towels and no washcloth or bath towel. Since two bedrooms had only 1 person and towels had been supplied for two people we were able to obtain the necessary towels. Water was left standing in the master bedroom shower which had a slightly funny smell and it appeared to have an orange mold developing in areas underneath the water. When entering lower (basement) level the area around the toilet on the bathroom on the right was dirty. The bedroom on the main floor had cobwebs on the walls as did areas in the living room. There was a coat of dust to be found in many areas and there were a number of dead flies in the basement area by the doors. The person staying in the main floor bedroom commented the bathtub was slippery and it would have been nice to have had some type of bath mat. We had noticed in the guest book that the last guest left on the 27th of October. We questioned wether or not a “refresh” had been completed before our arrival. This was the second year that we were unable to enter the premises with the code that had been sent and it was necessary to call the office for assistance. One other note which was out of your control was the problem we experienced with the internet. We were there from Thursday to Monday and probably had internet 20% of the time. The tech came on Friday and checked everything out and it was fine. We continued to have problems off and on for entire stay. We had not experienced this in previous years. We thoroughly enjoy staying at the property and have made our reservations for next year. Thank you again to the owners for giving us the opportunity to stay at their house.

A Glowing Review

We researched over a hundred cabin rentals, and several rental companies. We settled on A Glowing View because it listed everything we wanted for our family vacation. We were even more satisfied than we expected. The house had everything. The main floor is perfect for family gatherings with an open, well equipped kitchen, large great room, and dining room with seating for ten. There are six French doors that we kept open, so the fresh air and breezes kept it cool. The master suite upstairs, and the two masters downstairs gave everyone their privacy. The downstairs family room has a pool table that kept us busy for hours. My husband loved the study upstairs, which he used for his computer work. We were there from 8/8-15, and the weather was perfect. I am sure that contributed greatly to our experience. The wrap around porch was ideal. We lived on the porch. We watched sunrise from the back porch, complete with great porch furniture, and sunsets from the front rocking chairs. The amazing thing was how few bugs there were. This home sits high on a hill with great curb appeal. The views from the house are spectacular. The home is close to Boone, so it was not hard to get somewhere for shopping or meals. There is plenty to do within a 30 mile radius. Other great features include a fire pit, complete with firewood. It has a big, well maintained hot tub. There is a small flat back lawn for games (which come with the house-croquet and badminton). There was an abundance of towels, pillows, and blankets. The WiFi worked great. There is a ton of storage, lots of both walk-in closets and bedroom furniture. It has a great two car garage. This home was built in the early 80's, so the fixtures and tile are dated. But, the owners thought of everything in designing this home for family living. Overall, we would recommend this house. We had a fabulous week. Thanks to the owners for sharing it with us. I would also give a shout out to Carolina Cabin Rental. They responded within hours to every e-mail I sent. They kept us updated on information we needed. The check-in process was great. When I called about a problem, they responded promptly. This was a positive experience from start to finish.

Best Vacation Ever

Our family of 5 highly enjoyed ourselves for the week we visited. The views were breathtaking. The space the home had to offer was amazing and perfect for hide and seek 😉. I couldn't be happier with this home and our vacation. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because we look forward to the hot tub in the evenings. The jets were very slack but can be fixed with a little maintenance. Thank you so much for sharing your home. I am truly a blessed Mama. 😘

This is a very nice home that is spacious and the views from just about everywhere you go in or outside of the house is just amazing. This home has all the amenities you could ask for. There are a few things that could be improved is a better grill (it took for ever to cook the food, we had to end up taking the food off and putting it in the oven), the grill is old and rusty. It appears that the house should be aired out from time to time, not sure how often this happens, but there were cob webs in corners near the patio/porch doors. Overall a fairly clean home but some areas needed a little more attention than others, a good airing out before guest arrive (the house just felt like it needed to breathe...it did not smell, but you could tell it was closed up for a while) I still rate 5 stars as we enjoyed our stay. Still a nice High Country Home in the mountains.
