While other guests may have had better experiences, our particular stay was significantly impacted. That said, the views were truly outstanding-the highlight of the property. Upon arrival, the house had not been properly cleaned. The property manager acknowledged this and asked us to wait while it was addressed. While some items were handled, it became clear that the cleaning was rushed and incomplete. By the second day, the pool had turned green and murky and was unusable. We later learned the pump/filtration system had been left off during treatment. Although chemicals were added after we raised the issue, it never fully cleared and we didn't feel comfortable using it.The outdoor terraces were largely unusable. Chair cushions were saturated, and heavily affected by mildew, and there were extensive cobwebs on furniture and light fixtures. There were power outages in two bedrooms, a non-working kitchen light, mildew in bathroom fixtures, and an AC drain leak that soaked a child's crib the first night. The local property manager was responsive, though not effective. Initial responses with the owner attributed the issues to logistics or conditions on Vieques, without timelines or solutions. After a detailed follow-up outlining the problems with pictures we no longer received responses from the owner. We understand the realities of maintaining a home on Vieques and tried to be flexible. With better upkeep this could be a wonderful property.
