We had a great stay at Bonito, the booking process and communication was well organised and we had great service. We arrived late in the evening but check in was easy, using a key safe for which we’d been provided with all the information. There is off road parking inside a gate, a bit of a walk up the hill to the property but the path is really well lit with lights on sensors. Bonito had everything we needed for a week’s stay, just the right amount of space for a couple or couple and one child. The second bedroom is quite small with a small bed but ideal for a child. The best feature is of course the view from the huge picture window at the front! Very enjoyable looking out at the English Channel at all times of the day but especially with a cup of tea in the morning. All the amenities you need are provided, overall it was clean and tidy but there were a couple of areas which look like they’d been missed and could do with a more thorough clean (dusty bedroom lamp, a few cobwebs but nothing major). There is a lovely terraced garden at the back and sun deck at the front which we unfortunately didn’t get to really make use of due to the weather but are lovely to have. I’ve scored slightly lower on comfort as we found the bed to be a bit too firm (a mattress topper would be a great addition), and the sofa wasn’t really that comfortable to sit on in the evening when our son had gone to bed, but as you don’t go on holiday to sit on the sofa for long periods I don’t think this is too much of a problem! The location in Bonchurch is great, obviously with sea views, and it was about a 20 minute downhill walk into Ventnor (uphill on the way back but Bonito is on the bus route and the Chinney Steps stop is a few hundred yards away). There is an amazing pub just down the hill called the Bonchurch Inn. There’s also Smuggler’s Haven Tea Garden just down the road but we didn’t get chance to visit that.
Overall, a great holiday and we’d recommend the accommodation and would stay there again for a future visit!
