  • Nestled in the peaceful Picena Bay near Vela Luka on Korcula Island, this charming beach house offers the perfect escape for families and friends. Just steps from private sunbeds on a quiet pebble beach, enjoy breathtaking sea views, direct sea access, and your own boat mooring.

    Inside, the house blends modern comfort with Mediterranean charm, featuring three cozy bedrooms, a spacious living area, and a terrace to soak in stunning sunsets. Air conditioning keeps you cool, and kayaks are available free for exploring the crystal-clear waters.

    Relax on your private deck chairs under canopies by the beach, or discover nearby sandy and pebble beaches, including the famous Proizd Island just a short boat ride away.

    The quiet bay ensures privacy and serenity, while Vela Luka town, only 10 minutes away, offers shops and dining options. On-site, enjoy an intimate, locally inspired restaurant with just a few tables—perfect for a peaceful local dinner.

    This beach house is your ideal spot for a tranquil Adriatic getaway filled with sun, sea, and unforgettable moments.

    Pets are welcome with pet fee, which is 50 EUR, as well as a damage deposit of 300 EUR, which is payable in cash to the owner. The deposit will be refunded to you on the day of your check-out, provided everything is in order and the house is undamaged.

    HOW TO REACH YOUR HOLIDAY HOME
    Both Dubrovnik and Split airports are available options for your travel needs.

    If you choose Split airport, you can take advantage of the ferry or catamaran services that operate from Split port, which will transport you to Vela Luka on Korcula Island. Once you arrive in Vela Luka, it will only take 10 minutes by car to reach your holiday home. Alternatively, there is a catamaran service that departs from Split port and travels directly to Korcula town. However, please note that if you opt for this option, you will need to allocate an additional 50 minutes of travel time to reach your holiday home.

    If you decide to take the catamaran from Dubrovnik, you will arrive in Korcula town, where you will need to arrange a 50-minute taxi ride to reach your accommodation. We would be delighted to assist you with organizing your transportation, should you require it. The taxi from Korcula town to Vela Luka costs around 70 eur.

Perfect island paradise!

Property location and atmosphere by far the best on the island. Perfect for enjoying the sea. 6 min drive to large grocery store and ferry port. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Relaxing, fun and gorgeous

The location of the accommodation is amazing. The bay is like a big pool and the sunbeds work out perfectly. The town is very close for evening meals, or you can eat at the restaurant on site, or self cater in the accommodations kitchen.

Stunning seaside setting with warm hospitality

Plaza Pičena is an absolute hidden gem – the seaside cabanas and crystal-clear water are just steps from your door, and the on-site restaurant run by Mario and his family is a real treat. We loved being able to swim, relax, and enjoy great food without ever leaving the property. The accommodation itself, however, isn’t quite at a luxury standard. We found the beds uncomfortable, and the kitchen lacked several basic supplies – an issue noted by previous guests but unfortunately still unresolved. We raised this with the Adriatic Pearls team, but nothing further came of it. If location and atmosphere are your top priorities, this place is hard to beat. With more attentive management and some upgrades, it could be truly exceptional.

We spent a wonderful holiday at Plaza Pičena and were completely taken by its incredible setting. Easy access to the sea and private cabanas felt like an absolute luxury. The small restaurant on site run by Mario and his family was a highlight. We observed several yachts making a special trip to dine there and felt lucky to have found such a hidden gem.That said, the accommodation itself did not quite meet a luxury standard. The interiors were functional but lacked some attention to detail, particularly in the kitchen, where basic supplies were missing or insufficient. We later noticed in previous reviews that other guests had raised similar concerns, which unfortunately seem to have gone unaddressed.If you are seeking an unbeatable seaside location with a warm, family-run vibe, this is a wonderful choice. With a few improvements to the accommodation, it could truly match the world-class beauty of its surroundings.

Noch besser als beim ersten Urlaub

Wir waren das zweite Jahr in Folge bei Mario und haben es wieder nicht bereut - im Gegenteil: Es war noch schöner als im vergangenen Jahr. Der von Mario und seinem Vater erweiterte private Bereich direkt am Wasser für die Gäste des Hauses ist außerordentlich gut gelungen: Großzügig, komfortabel und ruhig (Fotos noch nicht auf Fewo). Vom eigenen großen Steg aus Holz geht es direkt ins klare Wasser. Schwimmen/Schnorcheln bei Sonnenaufgang vor dem Frühstück ist super einfach. Neben den großen Sonnenschirmen geben die großen Schwarzkiefern natürlichen Schatten. Der frische Fisch aus den lokalen Gewässern in Marios Restaurant war wieder ganz ausgezeichnet, ebenso wie der Wein von der Insel und die ruhige Lage direkt am Wasser. Neben Marios tollem Restaurant, ist Selbstversorgung kein Problem. Der Supermarkt (Tommy) und der kleine versteckte Fischmarkt in Vela Luka bieten alles dafür Notwendige. Restaurants im Hafen von Vela Luka bieten ebenfalls gute Alternativen. Ausflüge in die Stadt Korcula (40km Fahrt mit Auto) sind sehr lohnenswert. Fazit: Entspannung und Ruhe pur, bei Bedarf mit hervorrragendem gegrillten lokalen Fisch in schöner Atmosphäre, das Ganze direkt am Meer

Der perfekte Erholungsurlaub

Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen und uns prächtig erholt, das lag zum einen an der wunderschönen Umgebung ( glasklares Wasser ( ab der Nachsaison auch mit vielen Fischen), sehr schöner Ausblick auf die Bucht), als auch an dem schönen Haus. Es ist sehr sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet ( sehr gute Betten und Klimaanlage für einen erholsamen Schlaf, etwas mehr Ausstattung in der Küche wäre noch besser!), von der Terrasse hat man einen phantastischen Blick auf das Meer, nur wenige Meter zum ruhigen `Privatstrand`( die Liegen sind sehr bequem und rückenfreundlich). Unsere erwachsenen Jungs haben die hauseigenen Kanus/Kajaks gerne genutzt. Nach Bela Luka (Fähre, Supermarkt, kleine Restaurants am Hafen) sind es nur ca 10 Fahrminuten, nach Korcula Stadt ( sehr sehr schön, wie Klein- Dubrovnik ca 40 km). Mario, der Vermieter war immer persönlich oder per whats app für uns da, immer bemüht uns den Urlaub so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Sein Vater (Herz und Seele von allem) kocht wunderbar im kleinen, aber feinen Restaurant, sehr sehr idyllisch gelegen und sehr lecker! Wir haben vor wiederzukommen!

Amazing memories created

The property was clean and hosts amazing, more clear instructions on how to find the property would be good, a bbq and more cooking utensil would be a benifit. We would definitely recommend for others to stay. The meal at the restaurant was amazing and staff great.

Das Haus bietet alles was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Das allerbeste ist aber der Privatstrand direkt am Meer. Einfach ein Traum! Zwischen Haus und Meer befindet sich das Restaurant des Vermieters, das nur abends offen hat. Es wird täglich fangfrischer Fisch angeboten in einer sehr relaxten und romantischen Athmosphäre. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind fantastisch. Vielen Dank an Mario und seinen Vater, wir werden noch lange davon zehren....

A slice of heaven

The beauty of this property exceeded my expectations in every way. When we arrived, it was incredibly peaceful in the afternoon, the water colors and clarity were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and the scent of pine in the air was intoxicating. I immediately felt that I would have very little desire to leave this place for the next few days. The property was spacious and I especially enjoyed the large covered outdoor space when we weren’t by the water. We had wonderful privacy there and also enjoyed the luxury of reserved area to lounge by the water as part of the rental. Mario and his father Rad greeted us warmly. The quality and simple elegance of the restaurant far exceeded my expectations as well and we enjoyed 3 delicious seafood meals right here at “home” while the sun was setting. It was a little unclear about where to find the home initially and required a slightly unnerving one-car width road to navigate but well worth the effort for this magical location.

Super Lage, tolles Restaurant vor der Haustüre

Wir hatten einen erholsamen Sommerurlaub, vor allem die Bucht, in der man badet, ist besonders schön! Das Restaurant des Vermieters, das direkt oberhalb des Badeplatzes liegt, sehr empfehlenswert!

Perfekte Lager, direkt am Strand Einkauf Möglichkeit 5 Minute entfernt Ein wunderschöner Ort, um sich auszuruhen und Urlaub zu genießen. This was an amazing holiday in a splendid location,with an exceptionally friendly and helpful proprietor,Mario. He did his best to address our needs.There were just two drawbacks,both outside his influence. The first was the cold sea-water, especially after the bora, and the second was the high price of accommodation. The beach and the food in the restaurant were exceptional,though. And the three tortoises living in the garden next to the house were a lovely surprise!

Ferien im Paradies

Die Lage des Objekts ist perfekt für einen super entspannten Urlaub. Wir haben insbesondere das Standup-Paddeln (SUP) an der wunderschönen Küste und rund um die gegenüberliegende Insel Osjak enorm genossen. Die Klarheit und smaragdgrüne Farbe des Wassers und die wunderschönen Uferabschnitte sind ein absoluter Traum. Mario, der Vermieter der beiden Häuschen, ist ein absoluter Schatz und man kann mit jedwedem Problemchen auf ihn zugehen. Die Dinnerabende in seinem Restaurant bleiben in ewiger Erinnerung: ‚Schlemmen mit Top-Aussicht und in netter Gesellschaft‘ war das Motto. Zwei kleine Punkte hätten wir zur Verbesserung anzubringen (das ist jedoch Klagen auf hohem Niveau): etwas mehr Küchenausstattung (z.B. scharfe Rüstmesser, mehr Küchentücher und Putzmaterial, Schere) und grössere Frotteetücher im Bad. Zudem gab es den Grill, welcher in der Ausschreibung erwähnt ist, nicht. Aber wie gesagt: es war ein perfekter Urlaub im Paradies mit einem tollen Gastgeber! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Beautiful spot

Nice house overlooking the bay. There is a small restaurant there as well, but it was not yet open for the season. Nice waterside area with palapas and lounge chairs, which we had to ourselves, as well as small private beach, but might’ve shared with one other house at a busier time. We swam and snorkeled and kayaked there (kayaks were provided). Our host Mario was friendly and welcoming; he met us in town when we arrived on the ferry in Vela Luka and we met his friendly father, who told us much about the area and it’s history. Despite some bad weather, we were comfortable, and we could reach Vela Luka in about 5 minutes by car. Altogether a very nice experience.

This was an outstanding find with HomeAway. We fell in love with the property.

I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have a wonderful stay in Vela Luka. Mario is an excellent host and took care of us like we were family. Everything we wanted in a vacation rental.

Beautiful location on a quiet, secluded bay but close enough to pop into town for anything you need.

The onsite restaurant run by Mario and his father is outstanding - easily some of the best food we had in all of our Croatia visit. We would definitely return and Mario was very accommodating to whatever we needed. We even managed to have him get a local masseuse to come to the house to give us massages down by the waterfront one evening before dinner. Great villa / highly recommend!
