We just finished a one month stay in Eco Lagarto in Feb 2019. We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom bungalow with our own private pool. The house has everything you need as well as wonderful wildlife sightings. We were able to float in the pool and watch the howler monkeys jumping around in the trees. They visited the house aprox once every week on their rounds. The house is situated a short drive from several different excursions. We were able to do a sunset cruise from Playa San Juanillo where we were able to see turtles mating, dolphins, whales and mantarays, another outing I would suggest is a visit to Palo Verde River cruise up the Tempisque River wher you can see crockadiles as well as numerous birds and white face monkeys. We are also a short drive from a wildlife rescue center in Nosaria, it is the only rescue center in Costa Rica that has had success with rescuing and rehabilitating howler monkeys, it was very informative. Do be advised that you will need to rent a four wheel drive vehicle as some of the roads along the coast are gravel or dirt and prone to erosion, they can be very bumpy and have ruts so good clearance is needed. Blair has suggested we rent our vehicle from Adobe, they gave us a good deal and we're very accommodating when we had a small issue. The house is aprox 45min from Santa Cruz, or Tamarindo where you can stock up on groceries. All in all it was a great time. Diane and Norm Buck
