Beautiful home in a beautiful neighbourhood. Joanne was very welcoming, and made us feel like we were home. The breakfasts were different than what we’re use to, but very very good. We highly recommend.

Joann is an absolutely lovely host, and serves a wonderful hot breakfast. The accommodations are reasonably priced, clean and the area is peaceful and quiet. I would recommend the House on Dunbar as an excellent option for a stay in Vancouver.

Excellent stay....especially the gourmet breakfasts....very conveniently located, one bus to get to Granville Island or Gastown, definitely would stay here again.

Spent the last weekend on Joanne's B&B my wife and, we couldn't be happier. The place is beautiful, clean and cozy and the breakfast? Absolute delicious!. Located just 15 minutes from downtown, it is the prefect spot to relax while staying close the citty buzz. We loved every moment, and if you’re looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay in Vancouver, Joanne’s B&B is a fantastic choice!

Joanne couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. My room was spacious with a generous bathroom en suite - great shower with ample hot water … and a handy grab rail for those of us prone to falling over when standing on one leg! Lovely area and very peaceful. Lots of helpful information provided in the room, with maps and info on bus routes to get around. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, or to recommend this b&b.

Comfy Stay in Quiet Neighborhood

Joanne is very friendly and our room was very comfy with all that we needed. Breakfast was yummy & we appreciated that we could arrive early with no extra charge. The house is beautifully decorated and the neighborhood is quiet.

Comfortable stay in Vancouver

My wife and I were made very welcome by Joanne. Nothing was too much trouble. Always happy to give advice to where to go and how to get about. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Need to be aware to options for eating out in the area are a bit limited so grab something while you are out and about. There is a kitchen and sitting room available for guests but not there is no oven in the kitchen. We bought a pizza to cook and Joanne was so kind as to cook it in our kitchen for us. Would definitely stay again if in the city.

Vorab: Ich bin nicht pingelig was Sauberkeit und Zustand der Elektroinstallation betrifft. Bei weniger toleranten Gäste rate ich jedoch von dieser Unterkunft ab. Zimmer Ich hatte das Zimmer 2010 mit angeschlossenem Bad. Das Bad war sauber und ausreichend groß. Das Video auf der Homepage ist zumindest irreführend da es nur den privaten Bereich der Gastgeberin zeigt. Der Gast kann einen Bereich im Basement nutzen. Die dortige Küche bedarf einer Grundreinigung. Das gilt auch für das Gästezimmer. Service Die Gastgeberin ist sehr bemüht und gibt Tipps für Sightseeing und Restaurants. Das "kontinentale Frühstück" besteht aus Kaffee zum Selberkochen und wahlweise einen Muffin oder einem Croissant sowie einer kleinen Schale Fruchtsalat. Nicht wie in der Expedia Beschreibung "Großes Frühstück". Standort Das B&B liegt ca. 30 Bus Minuten außerhalb Downtown (Linie 7). Man ist daher schnell und einfach in der Stadt.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

Power was out when we arrived so no internet! Could not contact owners as they are not on site! We opened door and it smelled horribly musty! It was midnight so we stayed. Next morning power back on and the place was filthy—really hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived! Per on bathroom floor, dirt everywhere! We could not get ahold of owner, nor could hotels.com (we booked thru them). Got ahold of them finally and they told me they would work on a refund. So far—I got nothing! I don’t mind paying for 1night as we stayed (we were supposed to stay for 3 night)! Still waiting to hear from them or owner!

A fantastic stay! There is space, style, warmth and welcome at House on Dunbar. Joanne is a fantastic host, and her breakfasts can't be topped. The neighbourhood is elegant and wealthy and I was a bit intimidated but we were made totally welcome. Will return again and heartily recommend this lovely bed and breakfast.

The bed was poor. Room hot. Air conditioner very noisy. Electric wires everywhere. Bath was leathal. I fell badly in it. Generally its a 5 / 10 experience

It smelled like mold. The air quality was poor. There was visible mold I include pictures on Google since Expedia let's people pay to hide unflattering reviews. The owner said Vancouver is damp and it always smells like this. I live in Oregon and know damp smells well. I also worked in housing law and know mold when I see it. Unsympathetic when we complained about respiratory irritation.

(+) Well located and quiet. (-) Dusty spider webs all around the room. Humidity smell. Cold/humid breakfast area & dirty floor / counter (basement). Fruit flies in the garbage can. No access to backyard (under construction). Stained towels.

Beautiful house, nice host!

Joan was good host and she cooked tasty meals every morning. The house location was proper to move granville island, down town, UBC. The street was calm, safe and pretty. Backyard and every floors of house were clean and nasty.
