What a charming and delightful place with many nooks and crannies for hanging out, playing and relaxing! The backyard is a cocoon of privacy and the hot tub was a welcome place to warm up and relax. The vintage decor and appliances are charming! Beware that the ovens work really well so keep your eye on the food! Bed was super comfy and the shower was hot with great pressure! Thanks for a lovely getaway!

We try to keep our expectations realistic- a place with some fun things to occupy the kids, close to the beach, close to restaurants and grocery stores, ya know, the basics. This property really has it all! Missy is so responsive and easy to work with. She provided recommendations for bike rentals as well as nice places to eat to celebrate a birthday. We have three young kids and they loved being able to relax in comfortable spaces, including around the pool with a TV (hey, we are on vacation!). Every detail is thought of and you really feel like you’re home away from home with resort amenities. We hope to book again soon. The Salty Mermaid exceeded all of our vacation wants and needs (even during a cold week in a beach town).

This was an amazing place for our family trip to the beach with three little girls. The house is beautiful, every detail is on theme. The pool, hot tub, fire pit, and games were a huge hit. Movie night on the front porch was great! Only negative was that there is a raccoon that pulls out the garbage bags near the pool and leaves a "mess" on the pools edge.

This was such a cute cottage for our bachelorette trip we planned. The house decor is the cutest and matches the photos! The front porch that was enclosed was perfection! It has two swinging day beds. I really liked how well stocked the house was too when it comes to essentials! The backyard was good too, we ran into an issue with a lot of mosquitoes and Missy was quick to respond and have them come out and spray. The location of the home was also another for us so that was a plus! So close to restaurants, shops, beach, gas stations and cuz store! Loved the home Missy, thanks again for allowing us to stay!

Our family had an amazing time at the Salty Mermaid Cottage. Everything you need for an amazing beach vacation was on hand. So many great sitting areas. It was a quiet neighborhood. We would recommend anyone who wants to visit Tybee Island to stay here!

We enjoyed our stay at the Salty Mermaid. Never used the hot tub because it was pretty warm out, but the pool was great. Location to the beach and town (activities and restaurants) was convenient. Owner did a great job communicating before our stay and also checked in with us on arrival. We had everything we needed. Would recommend.

Fantastic Fun with Family

Everything was just as shown. My family enjoyed this house and our host was wonderful. If you are going to Tybee Island, I highly recommend.We rented a golf cart and it was a hit with the teenagers. The kitchen was well stocked, Overall great house!!

Relax & Recharge

Quick 5 day getaway in between busy family schedules! Enjoyed the relaxed pace of Tybee and access to Savannah. Salty Mermaid checked all the points for us…serene lagoon pool, clean hot tub, private setting. We traveled by plane so were unable to bring a lot of “extras”…our host had us set up for not a need in the world!

Friend-Family vacation!

If you ask the four kids what their favorite part of our Tybee vacation was they would answer the house! Our favorite was the front porch with the amazing swings and the pool in the backyard. The landscaping around the house provides a secluded tropical pool experience. The location of the house is centrally located on Tybee, easy to get to the Pier and lighthouse. The beach is a 2min bike ride away, beautiful dunes, sand, sun and ocean! We rented bikes allowing us to get around without a car all week. We hope to get back to Tybee again and when we do we hope the Salty Mermaid Cottage is available as it made the vacation!

Great bachelorette trip

We came here for a bachelorette party and it was perfect! The house was very cute and clean, there was a very quick and easy walk to the beach, and the owner is very easy to get in touch with. We absolutely loved the swing beds on the porch! This is a great place to stay and would definitely come back!!

Amazing cottage

Perfect spring break trip for our family! Plenty of room and the heated pool and hot tub made it awesome despite cool nights! Wonder was extremely responsive and the house provided everything we needed. Will definitely stay again!

Cozy Cottage, Epic Porch!

We had a great stay, just wish it was longer. Such a fun and cozy cottage that is beautifully decorated. The porch and porch swings are amazing and would have loved to have spent more time there but it was a little chilly during our stay. The owners made great use out of the property with area for pool, corn hole, ping pong and more. I would return to this property for another stay.

Wonderful fall break!

Our family of five (kids 10, 8, 6) loved our stay here! We spent a few days at the beach in Tybee and two days sightseeing in Savannah. The house had everything we needed. We cooked dinner one night with fresh seafood from the fish market and made breakfast every morning. Kids loved the pool, ping pong, hot tub, and pool toys. The host was very responsive. Loved this trip!

Wonderful stay

This was my family's first-time visiting Tybee Island. I have 2 teens and it is important for everyone to have their own space and this house was everything we needed. Everyone had their own bedroom - all of the beds were super comfortable. The outdoor spaces were great. The porch area with the bed swings also provided a space to just relax and unwind. The pool and hot tub were fabulous and we enjoyed both while there. The house is just overall very cozy. We all thought it was just the perfect place for us. The property is so close to the beach and to the local grocery. It is also about 30 minutes from Savannah. So we were able to get some beach time in as well as tour beautiful Savannah. You wont go wrong renting this house. Its cozy, beautifully decorated, quiet, enough room to have family time, and enough spaces for everyone to have a little solitude. The host has thought of everything you need for your stay. We will definitely be renting again.

Love, Love, Love!!!

This is the PERFECT stay for a girls getaway! So beautifully decorated. The swings on the porch are perfection. I could have stayed out there all day. The house is comfy, cozy. The backyard area, with the pool and hot tub, is great. Quiet neighborhood, close to the beach. The owner was so responsive and helpful. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend.

Girls Gone Tybee

This sweet cottage was the perfect location for a girls getaway weekend on Tybee Island. The beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked with anything needed. The quaint porch and backyard oasis were our favorite hangout locations for any time of day. The host, Missy, was very responsive before and during our stay. She even helped us out with an earlier check in to accommodate early flights from out of state. We will DEFINITELY be back to Tybee to stay at the Salty Mermaid again!

Perfect Cottage!

The cottage was absolutely perfect! The owner has thought of every detail to make your stay better. It rained almost our entire trip and it didn’t put a damper on our fun at all. The cottage is so relaxing that we wouldn’t have minded if we never left. Between the hot tub, pool and screened in porch with the swinging beds.. we enjoyed every minute!

Awesome

I’ve stayed at a lot VRBOs. This place was exactly as depicted. It was awesome. For workaholics like us, we were able to unwind in this cute beach home that had everything you needed. The porch swings are the best and great for relaxing while listening to the birds sing. The pool was welcoming and very clean. We rented the golf cart during our stay, and it was a blast driving the backroads on the island. The beach is close by and easily accessible. Our host, Missy, was quick to respond if we had any questions. We definitely will be back.

Loved this colorful house!

We found this house to be very comfortable and it had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The pool and hot tub were in great shape and the setting is beautiful. Host Missy was very responsive and friendly. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone!
