The best house!

This house was perfect for our weekend girls trip! The corner lot was quiet and cozy. There was plenty of room for everyone and perfect location. We were able to walk to downtown for dinners and the beach was so close and easily accessible! The property manager was very sweet and just a text away! 15/10 will stay again

Best time ever!

The house was fantastic with more than enough place for our party of 10 as well as very conveniently located. The kitchen was well stacked with all tools required for a great Thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention Tybee is a charming island that deserves to be discovered. Finally, thank you to the Mermaids who helped make our stay memorable!

Whispering palms circa 1925

Outdoor / pool area was amazing. It is an older home with master bathroom updated beautifully. We spent most evenings on the main floor, screened, porch. Short walk to many shops, restaurants, and beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Girls Getaway

We had a great time and really enjoyed the home. We loved the common area and the outdoor area, we were able to build a fire of our nights. There were 12 of us and we had plenty of space to be comfortable. I would def come back for another stay.

This was our second visit to Whispering Palms, and we absolutely love this house!!! So much character with the vintage feel mixed with gorgeous, chic, and whimsical decor! We spent so much time on the screen in porches just enjoying the beautiful fall weather and sight and sounds of Tybee. Perfect location with one block to sunset beaches and so close to the 17th street beach entrance. Beautiful fenced in corner lot with gorgeous foliage and gazebo with tons of seating areas. The Mermaid property staff are so professional and showed exceptional hospitality. We felt welcomed from the beginning! Can’t say enough, always sad to leave Tybee!

We had an enjoyable time at the house and on the island.

The experience was very nice from contacting the property manager to arriving to the property. It was a very smooth process to rent the house for the dates O wanted. The house could have provided more bath towels for the guests.

Totally Awesome Experience 5 Stars for sure!!

This was our first visit to Tybee Island. We had planned a week long vacation for our extended family of 13…ages 2 - 60+. The property suited us perfectly. Every family had its own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the backyard. The littles swam in the pool daily. The location of Whispering Palms was really ideal - we could walk to the beach, to multiple shops and restaurants and thru quiet neighborhoods for morning exercise. The staff at Mermaid Cottages was like none other I have encountered when using VRBO. They were attentive, caring and communicated clearly. Tammy and Jan were THE BEST… thank you! If we add one hint for future renters it would be to bring shampoo, soap and plan to purchase additional paper products for the kitchen and bath. Thanks to Mermaid Cottages for memories (and photos) that will last a lifetime!

A perfect getaway for family time!

My entire party loved the charm of Whispering Palms. It was a comfortable, relaxed setting with everything we could need without leaving the property (well except for the beach!) Mermaid Cottages’ gals were great! They communicated with me many times prior to our trip to ensure we were fully prepared. And, touched base several times to make sure we had everything we needed.

Beautiful home and property just a walk from the beach

The home was beautiful and a great space to spend our time when we weren't on the beach. The pool was really nice and the location couldn't have been better. You do have to bring a lot of basic stuff which you warned about ahead of time, although hand soap in all of the bathrooms were something we weren't expecting to need to buy. Overall we really enjoyed staying and would definitely consider staying here again. We would also recommend this to place to others

Great house & location

The biggest shock factor was the sheer amount of space that the house and overall property had. We had a group of 9 and it fit everyone perfectly. Location was also great as it’s close to the beach, bars and local restaurants on the southern side of Tybee. 10/10 would book this property again.

Private Oasis in the heart of Tybee

Secluded little compound in the heart of the action at Tybee. Perfect place for family to gather and be entertained and everything outside of the home from coffee to restaurants and the beach are all within walking distance.

A house filled with character

Between the beautifully landscaped back yard, all the porches and multiple bedrooms, this spacious house gave 11 people (from four families) all the room needed to find their own space, when needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great for our large group!

We absolutely felt at home and comfortable in our group of 9 adults and 4 kids under the age of five! There was plenty of space and we never felt on top of each other. The back yard and pool were perfect for the little ones and the back porch was a perfect gathering place for mornings and evenings. The location of the house was amazing. Within walking distance to a great, quiet end of the island but still close to the stores and night life without being loud. The kitchen was fully stocked of all appliances you could need. All major appliances were updated. Everything is well taken care of. It was very clean and welcoming when we got there. Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it for any other family vacation!

House was amazing upon arrival, very clean with welcome lights and music playing.

We originally rented with VRBO to later find out we could have rented directly with the rental company and saved money. Lesson learned as we were very happy with the house and enjoyed our stay, we will be sure we rent directly with the management company next time.

Great Property

Overall, We were very pleased with the property. Tammy was great! She checked in throughout the trip to make sure everything was satisfactory with our stay. The backyard was awesome. The pool is small, however, the younger kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The adults enjoyed the grill and fire pit. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Tybee!

Whispering Palms is a 1925 circa home That has been beautiful restored and decorative! One of the coolest places we have ever stayed, incredibly charming and perfect location. Plenty of space for our entire family! Beautiful and serene fenced yard which was perfect for fun and privacy. We enjoyed the pool, too! 5 stars!
