Twin Lakes, once a historic mining hub, is a charming mountain town known for its peaceful, timeless feel. Surrounded by stunning views of Mt. Elbert, Mt. Hope, and the lakes, it offers incredible sunrises, sunsets, and endless outdoor activities year-round—from hiking and kayaking to skiing and snowmobiling—all along the scenic Independence Pass.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES: ★ Beach & Swimming (10 minute walk) ★ Stand Up Paddleboarding ★ Beautiful stargazing ★ Kayaking ★ Canoeing (rentals available directly across the street) ★ Fishing ★ Fly Fishing on Arkansas River (or ice fishing in the winter!) ★ ATVing ★ 4-Wheeling ★ Snowmobiling ★ Hiking ★ Cross Country Skiing ★ Snowshoeing ★ Mountain Biking ★ Dirt Biking ★ Hunting ★ Hot Springs ★ Gold-panning ★ Disc golf ★ Whitewater rafting ★ Stargazing ★14ers: Elbert, Massive, Huron, La Plata, Missouri, Belford, Oxford, Harvard, Columbia and Yale.
We’re accessible year-round, and getting here is part of the adventure! The cabin sits on a county road that’s regularly plowed in the winter, but during snowy months (typically December–April), we recommend an AWD or 4x4 vehicle with good tire tread for a smoother, stress-free arrival. Mountain weather can shift quickly, so it’s always a good idea to check road conditions before heading out and plan accordingly. Colorado also has winter driving traction laws in place, so be sure your vehicle meets the requirements to avoid any issues along the way.
Speaking of snow, this is the Colorado Rockies so be prepared! We do our best to plow the area in front of the cabin and shovel the walkway. However, the remote nature of this place can make these tasks delayed. We do provide a shovel in case you need to clear a path.

To keep the home feeling as fresh as the surrounding mountain air, smoking is not permitted indoors. If you choose to smoke, we kindly ask that you do so outside and away from the home. Great pet friendly two bed in Twin Lakes! We really enjoyed the comfy beds, and spaces for us to spread out while we took a work-away week in Twin Lakes. The house had great games, and kitchen supplies well stocked. We also enjoyed the back yard, and surrounding nature.

Great spot in Twin Lakes
Loved the location and the vibe of this charming spot. Had hiccups with checkin, communication from the management agency and listing accuracy (there is no fireplace... it's an electric heater. this was a must for us, so pretty disappointing), but apart from that we had a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend this place and book again.

Lovely and quiet place
We really enjoyed our stay and loved the quiet change of pace. I live in Denver and it was so nice to find a place in the mountains that wasn’t commercialized and filled with tourists. We did a few hikes and paddle boarding and it was a great reset! Would go again!
