The VIEWS!
The location of this house was perfect and the views were incredible. Truly no picture you can look at conveys the beauty. The house was very well stocked. We have always had to buy laundry soap, dishwasher pods, trash bags, etc. Not here. They have everything you need. Even shampoos and conditioners if you don’t bring yours. A curling iron, flat iron and blow dryer(s). The only complaint I have is there is just one TV (livingroom) and we got stuck in the biggest snowstorm that has come through in several years, so some of our time in the evening during those days was spent watching movies and the speakers on it seemed to be busted. It was very hard to watch anything bc the sound was so terrible. Had we not been stuck indoors a day or two we never would have even noticed that. But that’s a tiny complain masked by the countless other compliments we have for this place. It was our favorite place we’ve ever book anywhere in Colorado and hope it is still available for rental next year for our spring break bc we would love to book again.

Wonderful 4th in Twin Lakes
The view was spectacular. Enjoyed hiking 14ers and paddling the lakes with our 3 kids over the holiday week. Quiet, clean, equipped, and again- the VIEW!! Loved it- we will be back. Thanks.

Beautiful Cabin and Views!
Our family had an amazing week here. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. The layout of the cabin was spacious and comfortable. The cabin location is close to hiking and fishing. We would love to visit again. Thank you for a great week.

Hiking Mount Elbert
House was near to hiking trail. Plenty Restaurants and groceries store in two towns near by. House was in great condition and it had everything one need. Would love to come back again. Thank you.

Fantastic property and location
The house was impeccably clean and well equipped. Everything looked brand new. The view of the lake and mountains was fantastic, and the deck had great furniture to enjoy the view. Don't miss the twinkling stars and Milky Way so vivid in the dark night skies! Would definitely stay here again!

Great Covid Relief
The location is spot on. Love the community and the neighborhood exploration. Mt. Elbert was fantastic as well as the lakes. What a wonderful place to get away, social distance and enjoy the outdoors.

Picture perfect
Everything in the house is perfectly maintained especially for a rental property. Very clean nicely appointed. We were able to cook several meals. The house sleeps a max of nine comfortably. It’s a 30 minute drive to Ski Cooper. Which is just beautiful.

We loved everything about staying here. The views cannot be beat! The coziness of the house was just like being at home. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and ready for use. We are planning on coming back this summer if we can schedule a time. My family loved this get away experience. Thank you!

Majestic views
Beautiful views of twin lakes from the balcony and inside the house. We were a party of 7 (4 adults 3 kids). Drive to the lake is about 2.5 miles or more. 2 kayaks provide but we didn't use them. Spacious house with pillows galore. Kitchen could use a few more pots and pans, utensils especially laddles and a little more cabinet space for our weeklong food supply. No dumpster available so you have to keep the trash in the house as the cleaning crew removes it. We found that setup quite odd and messy. Bit the laundry room has a separate door so that is where we kept our trash. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a great family vacation.

Amazing view
Really sleeps 8, comfortably. We squeezed 11 in and someone had to sleep on the floor. The common area is open and inviting. The view is breathtaking. The house is clean.

The property is lovely. Can’t beat the views! 3 separate full bathrooms are a plus. Kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed our stay immensely and are grateful for the privilege of staying up in Beautiful Twin Lakes!

Amazing view and comfy accommodations
Super comfortable and cute place for my party of 7. I'm not sure a party of 12 could stay here... I would think 9-10 at most, comfortably. The kitchen is spacious and has sufficient pots and pans and all appliances are new-ish and work well. Beds and sheets are comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms was a big perk. Easy access. Absolutely perfect view from the spacious deck. Really enjoyed this little gem. Oh, and the supplied 2 kayaks was a super nice bonus!

Not as advertised - not well stocked
The property was advertised as "sleeps 12 (5 adults / 7 children). We were using this house for a family gathering and needed to sleep 12 (5 adults / 7 children). There were three bedrooms and a trundle in the loft area. This allowed sleeping 10. We located a twin mattress in a closet which we put in the corner of the living room - that then allowed us to sleep 11. I contacted the person listed as the local contact and she seemed to be surprised that it was advertised at 12 and stated that she always tells people that it sleeps 10. I told her that I agreed. She suggested doubling up kids more or sleeping on couches. I told her that really wasn't a good solution. I requested an air mattress to be delivered, which was the following day. It was not ideal, but we made it work. Honestly, having advertised a home for 12 people that only slept 10, I would have expected a refund. I didn't ask for one, but it would have been an appropriate gesture. Regarding how the house was stocked: We have stayed in many vacation homes and almost without exception, we are always impressed with how well stocked the houses are with cooking pans, pots, utensils, etc. I can not say the same for this house. Examples, no trash can in bathrooms, one large spatula to cook with. There were various pots, plans, utensils; but not like we have seen in other houses/cabins. And we have stayed in some much "lower level" houses/cabins. Yes, we had the minimum to get by but not what we have seen as typical in other houses. The overall finish of the house was armature. Shower heads were lose and leaked - all it took was reaching up and turning the a quarter turn. The curtain rods are just barely long enough to reach and opening/closing the curtains results in the curtains falling. TV was loosely mounted to wall and seemed like it could easily fall (maybe not - but certainly "floppy"). We didn't stay in the winter, but noticed that the gas fireplace vent put black soot under the eaves of the house. I don't know if it is a fire hazard, but I wouldn't suggest using the fireplace because it looked unsafe to me. If you have 6-8 people, you will be comfortable (but not 12!) Construction/maintenance is lacking Not well supplied The location is absolutely beautiful The house was very clean

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. The homeowner asked us to pass along the following response. - The Evolve Team "James, Thank you for providing some helpful criticism. Our home has accommodated 12 prior to your stay and since they have left glowing, 5-star ratings, we thought the accommodations were suitable. The listing clearly states the sleeping accommodations, specific by room/bed size. The additional mattress and couch can be counted as sleeping accommodations so although these were not detailed, I believe it to be correctly listed as 12 and that is why a refund was not offered. I will ensure this is detailed in the listing for future guests. My goal is to ensure our guests have a satisfactory, memorable, and pleasant stay in my family's home away from home. Because of this, when you had requested a larger air mattress since you do not believe a couch is a suitable accommodation for your children, I was happy to provide this. Due to the fact that not all 12 guests were there for the first night and I am out of state, so it can be difficult to get items to such a rural area at a moment’s notice, it was delivered the next day. My apologies if this seemed inadequate for any reason. In regards to the missing trash can in the bathroom, this was a miscommunication between myself and our cleaning lady. This has been replaced. As for the kitchen being stocked, that is one area I pride myself in so I believe you may have missed a drawer. Again, I refer you to the other ratings for some objective evidence that another group of twelve was "pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen well-equipped with all of the dishes and things that were needed for meal making". As for the loose shower heads and TV mounting, I will have our maintenance man look at these although I would like to say that the TV is a 360-degree swivel mount so it is supposed to move around a bit. Thank you for inspecting my fireplace as well. Background, there was originally an issue with propane/oxygen ratio due to the elevation in Twin Lakes, but this was resolved a few months ago. Note that while this issue was occurring, I instructed guests not to use it and had the propane turned off to the unit. I would never have guests stay if there was a safety concern. Beautiful ESCAPE
Our extended family of 12 truly enjoyed our time in the Twin Lakes area. I have lived in Boulder for 18 years and didn't realize how beautiful this area is!!! We were nervous about accessing the house, so we drove 4-wheel-drive cars. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the snowy road up to the driveway was actually quite short. You should do as the owner suggests and use a 4-wheel-drive, but know that this house is very accessible!! Two days in a row, we drove from the home to Cooper to ski, and it was a short, gorgeous drive there and back. We enjoyed the views of the lake and the mountains. We took many photos on the deck. The open layout was fantastic - it allowed us to all be in the kitchen, dining room, and living room, and it never felt crowded. We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen well-equipped with all of the dishes and things we needed for meal-making. We enjoyed the fireplace in the living room, and our kids were thrilled to find an older Wii machine with "Sports" - they played digital tennis, golf, and baseball together in the evenings. And we all slept so soundly - it's such a quiet, serene spot. I highly recommend this rental; and I'm hoping to return in the summer to stay here once again.
